Omni WiFi Manual English 1.8
Omni WiFi Manual English 1.8
Jensen Omni Mesh is a WiFi mesh system, which is easy to setup and administer through the
Omni WiFi app. The system can easily be expanded with seveal nodes if greater coverage is
needed. Two Omni nodes cover up to 250m2. Mesh technology provides seamless
communication as you move around the house (applies to two or more nodes in the same
system).
Omni Little works for internet speeds up to 100 Mbps, while Omni works for speeds up to 300-400
Mbps. The speed you get depends on the type of WiFi client (PC, mobile phone, tablet, etc.),
location of Omni, distance between client and Omni as well as any interference.
2
The Omni mesh family
The Omni product family consist of four products which all have the same function and use the same
Omni WiFi app for configuration/administration. The differences lies in performance, number of device in the
package and coverage.
Omni Lite
Covers up to 250m2 and support internet speed up to 100Mbps (100Mbps WAN and LAN port)
Omni
Covers up to 550m2 and support internet speed up to 1000 Mbps(*) (1000Mbps WAN and LAN port)
* Internet LAN speed (Connected to the main Omni node) up to 1000Mbps.
* Internet WiFi speed up to 350-400Mbps (depending on client device perfromance and WiFi conditions)
Omni DUO
A package with two mesh devices (Master and Extender) which covers up to 200 m2. The master device have
1000Mbps connection (LAN and WAN) while the extender have a 100Mbps LAN port.
* Wireless speed when connected to Omni Master: up to 350-400Mbps (depending on device and conditions)
* Wireless speed when connected to Omni Extender: Up to 100Mbps (depending on device and conditions)

Before beginning the installation
Setup and administration of Omni Mesh is done via the Omni WiFi app.
Omni WiFi has no WEB interface for its administration.
Download the app to you mobile phone/tablet before you begin the installation.

Is it possible to cable to or between the Omni / Omni lite devices?
Yes, it is quite possible. The Omni devices communicate wirelessly, but it is also possible to
connect them with a network cable if you have the opportunity. You can connect all, or just for
example. between the two nodes in the network (see examples below).
The advantage of cabling is that you get an even better performance on the network
compared to only wireless.
Below are examples of how it is possible to use the Omni WiFi system

Omni placement
The Omni nodes use wireless network for internal communication, so the placement
of the Omni nodes are important for how good the performance will be.
We recommend to place the Omni in an open area. Try to think how the wireless signals
can travel as easy as possible between each other.
The quality of the connection is shown both in the Omni WiFi app and through the

How to add more Omni devices to my system?
In a Omni system there is either 1, 2 or 3 mesh nodes, depending on the model.
If desired the Omni system can be expanded with several units to provide even better
coverage.

The Omni nodes communicates between each other using wireless network, thus
decreasing the total speed the more Omni nodes you add to the system.
If the Omni nodes are wired (see page 5) the speed from that will give full speed.
There are two ways to add a new Omni node to an existing Omni system.
Procedure 1:
2. Open the Omni WIFi app and keep the app open.
After about 1-2 minutes you will be notified on screen that a new
device has been found.

Port Forwarding
If you have devices/software in your Omni network that require opening ports to
work, you can easily access this via the port forwarding feature.

UPnP
UPnP - Universal Plug and Play allows UPnP compatible devices in the network,
such as PS4, XBOX, smart TV, media players, PC, etc., to talk to each other.
UPnP allows, for example, the PS4/XBOX itself to open ports in the firewall for a
better gaming experience. It also shares media in the network (e.g., from mobile
phone to a Smart TV) easier.

Registration of Admin profile for Omni
By default, all devices in the network have equal access to Omni through the Omni
WiFi app, so anyone can make changes. If you wamt to restrict access so that only
one user can manage Omni, you can create a profile.
Creating a profile also allows you to remotely control the Omni system from the
internet via WiFi, 3G/4G.
When registering a profile, the user you register with will become an administrator
and linked to the relevant Omni system.
Profile registration:
Profile login:
Forgot password:
1. Press the Profile icon u Login u Forgot Password.
2. Enter the email address and press Next.
You will now receive a password reset email.
23
User Account
When registering a profile, the user you register with will become an administrator and
only the user will be then able to manage Omni. If it is desired that more members of
the family manage the Omni system, you can add this to the user account menu.
IMPORTANT: A user account has the same rights as an administrator, but cannot add
or delete user accounts.
∗ The user account menu appears only when an admin account is logged in.
24
Frequently Asked Questions (page 1 of 2)
∗ If you have internet via fiber, there is normally no modem to turn on/o, and you must therefore call
the internet provider to ask them to realease the MAC address of your subscription. When this is
done you can check internet connection again.
25
Frequently Asked Questions (page 2 of 2)
I’m connected to Omni, but nothing appears in the Omni WiFi app!!
If the Omni system is tied to an admin account, you or an authorized user account must login to
this. If you want to delete the binding to the administrator account, the Omni system must be
competely reset. See page 29 for how to do this.
26
My internet connection is not working !!
In case you do not get internet connection from your Omni system, we recommend
that you first make sure the connection to the internet modem is done correctly.
Modem Connection:
1. Make sure you have a working internet connection by connecting the PC directly
to the internet modem with a cable and checking if the internet is working.
2. Connect the cable from your internet modem with a network cable to the Internet
port of the Omni (At Omni lite the port is labeled WAN / LAN).

reconnecting the power.
3. Wait a few minutes for the internet modem to connect to the internet.

Omni node LED is lit red
If you find that one or more of Omni nodes are lit red, or chage between blue/green
and red, we recommend that you check the following steps:
LED
1. Placement
The Omni nodes communicate wirelessly and therefore the location is important for
best performance. The LED light on the Omni and the icons in the Omni WiFi app
show the status of the connections with colors. If you experience poor performance,

The Omni software is periodically updated to add new functions and/or correct any
errors. Therefore, we recommend that you always check if a new version is avail-
able.
3. Restart
If the Omni units are still unstable/with a red light, we recommend to make a
complete system reset as described in page 29.

How to re-install the Omni system (page 1 of 2)
If you need to re-install the Omni mesh system you first need to reset all your Omni
devices back to factory default as shown on page 29.
