A SIR in his early thirties, sitting in front of classroom, busy in
checking assignments and also keeps eyes at the students time and again.
He notices that Ross is playing with Rubik’s cube instead of doing his
work. He ignores, clears his throat and again gets back to his work.
By the time, Rachel finishes her assignment.
Rachel
Done… Sir
Sir
Good. Bring it here.
Rachel goes in front and submits her work and leaves the classroom. Ross
still competing with time. Solves the cube in less than 2 minutes. Stops
timer. Express his excitement a bit loudly. This again grabs the
attention of sir.
Sir
(aggressive tone)
Ross…
Ross stands up.
Ross
(frightened)
Ye… Yes… sir
Sir
Come in front with your assignment…
and that cube
Ross walks to the sir with his notebook and solved cube. After looking
at his undone assignment. Sir writes a math simplify problem in the
board.
Sir
Can you solve this?
Ross mixes up the cube.
Ross
(giving cube to sir)
Can you solve this?
Angry sir takes the cube from Ross’s hand.
Sir
Is this meant to be joke to you?
Sir throws the cube from the near window. Rachel sees all this hiding by
the side of door.
Sir
(showing the empty class)
Out of 30 students, you are always the
Last one to finish the class assignments.
But still you are wasting your time in these
Non-sense activities. And trying to be stud.
Huh?
Ross
(bowing his head down)
I am sorry sir.
Sir
You are totally wasting my time and
your parent’s money that they spend to
pay your fees. Should I complain this
to the principal?
Ross
It won’t happen again sir.
Sir
Useless. Now just go back and complete
your work.
Ross takes his notebook. Returns back to his seat and starts doing his
assignment.
Sir
Ross… I am already late. So I am
Leaving… and don’t dare to leave the
class before finishing the work.
Ross
Yes… sir.
Sir walks out of the door. After a while, Rachel stands at the door.
Rachel
Ross… Can I help you doing your
assignments.
Ross looks at Rachel and smiles.

INT. SAME CLASSROOM – NEXT DAY
Everything is same as the past day, except Ross doing his assignments.
After a while sir’s phone rings up. He takes the call, walks out of the
classroom. Seeing this, Rachel goes near to Ross with something hiding
in her hands.
Rachel
Hey ross… I have something for you.
Ross sees Rachel is hiding something back in her hands.
Ross
(exclaimed)
What?
Rachel brings her hands in front. It’s the same Rubik’s cube but taped
badly.
Rachel
Sorry, it was broken into pieces.
So there wasn’t any other options
than doing this.
Ross smiles and takes it happily.
Ross
Thanks Rach… this means a lot.
Rachel
But there’s one problem.
Ross
What?
Rachel
You can’t play it anymore.
Ross
No problem Rach… Eventually I was planning
To buy 5 by 5 rubik’s cube.
Rachel goes back to her seat.
Ross
Rach… can I ask you one thing?
Rachel
Yeah sure.
Ross
You can finish your assignment much
faster. But you sit late, for me. Why?
Rachel
Because you are my best friend.
Sir enters the class. Sits in his place. Rachel goes to sir and submits
her work.
Rachel
Sir… have you read today’s local
newspaper?
Sir
(looking at rachel’s assignments)
No. Why?
Rachel
In one article it is mentioned that
only less than 5% of the population
in the world actually can solve rubik’s
cube.
Sir looks to Rachel.
Rachel (cont’d)
… sorry to say but ross is not useless.
Sir’s facial expression denotes that he is guilty.
Rachel
Good bye sir… see you
Rachel walks out of the class. After a while.
Sir
Did you finished your work… ross?
Ross
(murmuring)
Aa… almost done sir.
Sir
(calmly)
You can leave now. I will collect
It tomorrow from you.
