Writing is not something that comes to just anyone. Ever since we as people have learnt to write,
there have been some exceptional individuals amongst us, those who have turned mere words into
profound stories. This article talks about the 10 Greatest Writers of All Time.

1. Jane Austen
Enriched romances and beautifully represented heroines, Jane Austen was much ahead of her time.
Pride and Prejudice became one of the most critically acclaimed and loved novels. Even when Jane
was not entirely appreciated for her work during her time, all of her work is deemed a wonder
centuries later. There is no other intriguing thing than a Jane Austen novel that is more than just a
novel at times.

2. The Bronte Sisters


Although three distinguished and remarkable young women, the Bronte sisters are always
mentioned as one. The impressive trio wrote several gothic and romantic novels that echo
throughout time. Wuthering Heights had a depth that moved the heart of all those who read it,
while Jane Eyre is dubbed the “book of books”.

3. William Shakespeare
When Shakespeare entered the picture, he changed the entire scenario with his writings. He became
the standard. From Romeo and Juliet to Othello, from Midsummer Night's Dream to Macbeth,
Shakespeare left nothing unsaid.

4. J.R.R. Tolkien
This impressive man gave us one of the best book series of all time- Lord of the Rings, and
additionally, the Hobbit. Tolkien’s ambition and drive are all reflected in his work, which came out in
the most wonderful way possible.

One thing about Dostoyevsky, he has ideas you will be compelled to listen into. Crime and
Punishment was an epic ride of critical thinking, the likes of which are unlikely to be seen ever again
in the future.

6. Agatha Christie
The Queen of mystery and crime thrillers will forever remain unmatched. Agatha Christie gave her
generation and several of those to come the gift of compelling and gripping books that become a
part of who you are, becoming unforgettable in every manner.

7. Virginia Woolf
Virginia Woolf is the greatest feminist writer of her own time. Her writings are the reflection of an
enriched and informed mind, and her thoughts are presented most powerfully through her works
such as Mrs. Dalloway, A Room of One’s Own, and so on.
8. Haruki Murakami
Murakami bought with him a strange and unique demeanor, and he has not been deemed the
master of his craft for no reason. His way of telling stories compels all readers into a spiral of deep
thought.

9. Stephen King
Master of terror? Master of suspense? Just one adjective is not enough, for King has mastered
everything about his uniquely horrifying way of delivering stories.

10. J.K. Rowling


It cannot be denied that J.K. Rowling is the author that gave us the Harry Potter series, a masterpiece
in its own right. The books remain with us even as adults, and we will still watch the movies over and
over if given the chance!
