Tinahud nga mga Kag-anak/Magbarantay,

Magkakamay-ada san Pagkonsulta nga Asembliya (Consultative Meeting) para sa tanan nga kag-anak/
magbarantay san aton 1st year students na BSCE, BSEE, BSECE, BSME, BSCpE, ngan BSArch san
College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA). Ini mahiunong san pagbabag-o san aton “RETENTION
POLICY” (nakasurat sa likod), nga kun diin apektado an aton mga 1st year na studyante.

Ini nga asembliya paghihimoon sa Ika-13 san Abril sini nga tuig 2023, ala una san kulop (1 pm) sa
ika-2 nga andana san BDC Building, NwSSU Main Campus.

Kasumpay sine, amon gin-aaghat tanan nga kag-anak/magbarantay san mga 1st year san kolehiyo na
umatender sini nga nasabi na asembleya para san hul-os na kasayuran mahiunong sini nga nasabi na
polisiya.

Kami naglala-om san iyo hul-os na suporta.

RETENTION POLICY

EXISTING PROPOSED REVISION

A student who is enrolled in the Retention Examination Policy
College of Engineering and Technology
maintains a probationary status and will be
subjected to the following:
1. Students with a total of two (2) failing
grades in any subject is automatically
dropped from the roll in any semester.
2. Students with an Incomplete Grade
(INC) in a pre-requisite subject shall not
be allowed to take the succeeding
subject/s unless the “INC” is completed
and with a passing grade.
3. Grades earned from subjects enrolled
without satisfying the pre-requisite
subject/s shall not be given due credit.
4. To be able to advance to the next year Academic Status (Applicable to all incoming
level, a student must pass a 100-item- 2nd Year & 3rd Year students only):
structured problems based on the topics
in the prior year. A 75 score or better out
of 100 is considered as passing score.

 Students with excellent status are
EXEMPTED to take the Retention
Examination.
 ONLY students with Good Standing Status
are qualified to take the Retention
Examination.
 Students under Probationary Status are
given one year to pass/comply his/her
deficiencies in order to qualify to take the
Retention Examination.
 Students under Dismissal Status are
DISMISSED from the college and
advised to take other programs.
 Excellent Status
- with GWA of at least 87.5 and with
NO grade below 85 for major
subjects and NO grade below 80 for
minor subjects.
 Good Standing Status
- with GWA of at least 75 and with
NO grade below 75.
 Probationary Status
- with one to three failing/
incomplete/dropped grade; all
transferees and shiftees enrolled in
the last two semesters preceding the
Retention Examination
 Dismissal Status
- failure to pass the retention exam.
- with at least four failing/
incomplete/ dropped grade in any
semester.
