Why It Matters for the Early Years?
隨著多元文化背景家庭的 人口的增長 ，如何加強他們的競爭力及協助他們融入主流社會成為了一項
重要議題。 對於大部分多元文化兒童而言，中文能力是他們融入主流社會、 升學及職業發展的障礙，對
他們的未來至關重要。 早在幼稚園階段，就需要為他們提供具結構性的環境，互動性強的課外應用機
會，以及父母的支援來學習中文。 是次演講鍾教授將會圍繞如何將文化回應的方法應用於幼兒中文教育
教學的問題， 與大家展開討論及分享。
As the population of multicultural families grows, how to strengthen their competitiveness and help
them integrate into mainstream society has become an important issue. For most multicultural children,
Chinese ability hinders their integration into mainstream society, further education and career
development, and is crucial to their future. As early as kindergarte几 they need to be provided with a
structured environment, interactive extra-curricular application opportunities, and parental support to
learn Chinese. In this seminar, Professor Chung will discuss and share with you how to apply the method
of cultural response to Chinese education and teaching for young children.

講者簡介 Speaker Introduction

鍾杰華教授 Professor CHUNG, Kien Hoa Kevin
現任香港教育大學兒童發展及特殊教育講座教授、 兒童與家庭科學中心總
監。 鍾教授曾擔任香港大學教育學院助理教授及課程總監。 他在發展學術事業
前，曾在澳洲悉尼執教鞭四年。
鍾教授的研究與教學集中在讀寫及其他學習困難、 讀寫能力、 評估與教學、
社交情緒發展、 心理幸福感及家庭關係。 他是多個有關兒童與成人學習及幸福感
等領域的大型資助研究項目的首席研究員。 他發表逾一百六十篇學術文章， 涵蓋
閲讀困難、 讓與寫、 兒童發展、 教育心理學、 及家庭關係。 鍾教授更躋身美國史
丹福大學全球排名首2％科學家名單。
鍾教授獲香港教育大學頒發校長獎項，包括傑出研究表現獎（卓越硏究獎）及傑出知識轉移表現獎（團
隊獎項）。 他在加拿大國際發明及創新比賽中榮獲銀獎和國際特別獎， 及國際創新發明競賽 (IIIC2021) 中
嬴得金獎。
鍾教授領導多項由政府機構及不同基金會資助的大型學術研究及學校項目， 他曾為大型研究如二零一八
年「學生能力國際評估計劃 j 擔任顧問，亦經常為政府部門及非政府組織提供專業指引。 鍾教授熱衷並致力
把研究成果轉化為臨床應用、 學習和教學中。
