Overview of the Assessment Activity:


In 2018, a UN report found the Philippines to be among the top 5 countries producing half of
the world’s plastic waste, causing historical levels of plastic pollution, especially in marine
environment.
As a concern young environmentalist, you wanted to find out how a single family contribute
to the plastic waste of the Barangay community through an interview.
Assessment Method:
Analysis of Presented Data and Reflection
Assessment Activity:
1. Each group of 5 members will conduct an interview of their own family and one of their
neighbors on the number of plastic bottles used each day in a week.
2. The collected data will be presented using a table.
3. Graph and interpret the data:
Group 1 and 2 – Line Graph

Group 5 and 6 – Pie Graph
Group 7 and 8 – Pictograph
4. Make a reflection based on the result of your collected data by answering the following
guide questions:
a. Approximately how many bottles will be used by ten families in a week? in a month? in
a year?
b. What are the adverse effects of this number of plastic wastes to the environment?
c. As young environmentalist, what action/s can you make to solve this problem and
contribute to environmental sustainability within your community?

Goal Your task is to find out how a single family contribute to the plastic
waste of the Barangay community through an interview.
Role You are a young environmentalist; you will find out how a single family
contribute to the plastic waste of the Barangay community through an
interview and eventually reflect on the results.
Audience Your audience are the people in your barangay community.
Situation Philippines is among the top 5 countries producing half of the world’s
plastic waste, causing high levels of plastic pollution, especially in
marine environment. Your challenge is to find out how a single Filipino
family contribute to this global problem and eventually create a simple
solution to this problem in the community.
Product All 5 members of every group will conduct an interview of their own
family and their neighbor on the number of plastic bottles used each
day in a week. The data collected will be tabulated, graphed (line graph,
bar graph, pie chart, and pictograph), and interpreted. Each group will
collaborate and will reflect on the results. The output will be presented
in any of the forms given.
Standards The output will be assessed based on Content and Organization,
Creativity, Presentation and Delivery of the Content, Relevance and
Timeliness.
Expected Output:
