The History of the Philippine Media

The Philippine has a rich history of media that dates back to the Spanish Colonial period.
Over the centuries, the media landscape has undergone significant changes, influenced by
political, social and technological developments and we all know that the Marcos regime were
darkest period in the history of the Philippine governance specially to its victims mark by
political turmoil, human rights violations and censorship of the media but there are lots of eras
before and after that Marcos years and all of these are chronical in killing and torment to our
medias. By this article, we will explore the history of the Philippine media, from its early
beginnings to the present day.

During the pre Spanish colonization, indigenous Filipinos had their own ways of
communication, they used things straight from our nature like leaves and trees and also we have
ancient way of delivering our massages or news, laws and policies that enacted by the toen’s
chieftain.
