We do to protect people from injury before repairing computer components are :
● Make sure a first-aid kit is available.
● Unsecured cables create tripping hazards.
● Food and drinks should not be in the workspace.
● Remove jewelry.

2. What thing is used to stop a small fire ?


The thing used to stop a small fire is a fire extinguisher.

3. What two devices contain high voltage computer components ?


Two devices containing high voltage computers are ESD and EMI.

4. What is the cleaning tool used to clean internal components ?


Caked-on dust or dirt can be rubbed away with isopropy alcohol using either a cloth or a
Q-tip for hard-to-reach places. You should never take apart the hard drive or the power
supply, not even to clean them.

SDS(Safety Data Sheet).

● Never fight a fire that is out of control or not contained.
● Always have a planned fire escape route before beginning any work.
● Get out of the building quickly.

Fluctuation is a measure of energy required to move a charge from one location to
another. There are five blackout , brownout , noise, spike,and power surges.

Device name that used to convert the power from DC to ACis SPS.

11. What are EMI and RFI ?


● Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is the intrusion of outside electromagnetic signals in
a transmission media, such as copper cabling. In a network environment, EMI distorts
the signals so that the receiving devices have difficulty interpreting them.

● Radio frequency interference (RFI) is the radiation or conduction of radio frequency


energy (or electronic noise produced by electrical and electronic devices at levels that
interfere with the operation of adjacent equipment.

12. How many voltages cause computer damage ?


There are less than 30 volts.

break ?
ESD that a sudden increase in voltage causes the computer to break.

The antistatic wrist strap and the antistatic mat.

● FDISK : is a utility, included in all versions of MS-DOS and Windows, for formatting
(preparing) a hard disk drive to hold data and to logically partition the disk, specifying
and naming major portions of it for different uses.

● Disk Management : is a system utility in Windows that enables you to perform advanced
storage tasks. Here are some of the things Disk Management is good for: To set up a
new drive, see Initializing a new drive. To extend a volume into space that's not already
part of a volume on the same drive, see Extend a basic volume.
● Format : is the overall layout of a document or spreadsheet. For example, the formatting
of text on many English documents is aligned to the left of a page. With text, a user
could change its format to bold to help emphasize text.

● Scandisk or CHKDSK :Starts the Microsoft ScanDisk program which is a disk analysis
and repair tool used to check a drive for errors and correct any problems that it finds
(new with DOS Version 6.2).

● Defrag : to reorganize separated fragments of related data on (a computer disk) into a


contiguous arrangement.

● Disk Cleanup : Disk Cleanup is a Microsoft software utility first introduced with Windows
98 and included in all subsequent releases of Windows. It allows users to remove files
that are no longer needed or that can be safely deleted.

● System File Checker (SFC) : is a tool that is built into all modern versions of Windows.
This tool allows you to repair corrupt system files in Windows.

● System Mechanic: a system that manages the power of forces and movements to
accomplish a task. Mechanism (engineering), a portion of a mechanical device.

● Partition Magic : allows system administrators to create, resize, delete and manipulate
partitions, while a partition table logs the location and size of the partition. Each partition
appears to the OS as a distinct logical disk, and the OS reads the partition table before
any other part of the disk.

● Windows Firewall :Windows Firewall is a Microsoft Windows application that filters


information coming to your system from the Internet and blocking potentially harmful
programs.
