WHAT IS THE FLOORBALL?

Floorball is a collective sport. It was born as a sport derived


from ice hockey, since the rules of the latter do not allow
children to practice it. Therefore, a variant is created in
schools as a means of teaching students.

This sport is very similar to hockey in all its forms. It is a fast


game, and is popular as a competitive sport and for keeping
fit. There is no violence.

Floorball has its origins in Europe during the second half of the 20th century, it is a sport of
Swedish origin. It emerged as a derivative of ice hockey. It was used in schools because it was
not as dangerous as ice hockey and there was no need for skates and an ice rink.

Playing field
The land is 24 meters long by 15 meters wide. The goal area is 4 meters long by 3 meters wide.
The goals area are separated from the bottom of the pitch by a distance of 3 metres be
delimited by a painted line

The material
One stick per player (except the goalkeeper), made of hard plastic and approximately 1 meter
long.

The ball must be round, hollow, white, plastic, with 26 holes. The modern ball is called a
cheeseball

Duration of the match


Two 20-minute periods, with a 5-minute break.

The team
Each team consists of 4 field players and a goalkeeper.

The outfield players will use the stick but not the goalkeeper.
The goalkeeper cannot leave the goal area, but can touch, hold, throw and direct the ball with
any part of the body. However, he must play the ball within 3 seconds or there is a penalty.
This penalty consists of a free kick from the goal area line.

Floorball Rules
1.Rules allowed in Floorball
 Put the stick in the goal area.

 Remove the ball from an opponent without touching his stick.

 Playing with the walls.

 Direct the ball with your foot towards your own stick.

 Stop the ball with the stick, foot or chest.

 Hitting the ball with both sides of the stick.

2.Rules NOT allowed actions (punished with free throw)

 Lifting the stick above the knee.

 Entering the goal area if you are a striker.

 Touching a ball with your head or hand.

 Passing the ball to a teammate with your foot.

 Trying to play the ball lying on the field floor.

 Pushing an opponent.

 Hooking the opponent's stick.

 Grabbing or tripping a rival.

 Insulting.

 Throwing the stick.

 Putting a body part in the goal area if you are a defender.

 Moving the goal to avoid a goal.
