RULES:
For each event, only 2 participants can take part from each
department.
A minimum of 5 different departments must be there for each
event to take place.
A participant can take part in maximum of 4 events excluding
relay (maximum of 2 field and 2 track events or vice versa).
Standard IAAF rules apply.
In case of any disputes, decision of the event coordinator and
captain of the team will be final.
BADMINTON (MIXED)

GAME TIME:
All matches - 8 minute per quarter, half break – 2 mins
1 Timeout per quarter till third quarter, 2 Timeouts in the fourth
quarter for each team.
Side change is mandatory after the first half.
GAME RULES:
Each round is knockout based.
Size 6 basketball will be used.
3 main players and 2 substitute players are allowed per team.
There will be no jump ball.
No free throws on fouling; the ball is awarded to the fouled
team.
Each team will be given 5 team fouls before free throw
attempts are awarded. Upon the 6th team foul, the fouled
player will shoot one free throw.
Each player will be given 4 personal fouls before she is made to
leave court. That player is not allowed to participate in the
game. A substitute may be called on.
All the violations will be judged according to FIBA rules and
regulations.
Referee’s decision is final.
NOTE: All the matches will be conducted in half court only.
CARROM(MIXED)
POINTS:
1st place: 15
2nd place: 10
3rd place: 6
GAME FORMAT:
Each department will consist of one pair of girls’ teams, two
pair of boys’ teams. (Total – 4 boys, 2 girls)
Each pair will play the best of three matches. If two of the three
pairs win, then that department will win that tie.
The first round will be of knockout. The winners of the
knockout round will advance to the double-elimination format.
Only finals will be of points format. Each team from a
department will play for 25 points. The red carrommen/queen
value is 3 points. The team which reaches 25 points first wins
that round.
RULES:
Thumbing and Scissoring are allowed.
Fouls, Dues/Penalties, Value, Carrommen overboard, rolling
and overlapping, Queen, and General rules will be followed
according to All India Carrom Federation rules. (Only rules
under the change in sides are not applicable)
The time of 15sec is replaced by 30sec in all the rules wherever
applicable.
Any carrommen can be touched by the striker including the
opponent’s carrommen under any situation without penalties
given the striker is positioned covering the baselines and/or
base circles according to rules.
NOTE:
Strikers and coins will be provided. Each player is also allowed to
bring his own striker.
NO misconceptions or arguments are entertained regarding the
location of carrommen on the board and striking them.
CHESS (Mixed)
POINTS:
1 st place- 15

3 rd place- 6
GAME RULES:
Tournament will be conducted on a Swiss - System format for
Team Tournaments.
Each team comprises of five players (Minimum of 1 girl per
team), 4 main players and 1 reserve player.
In all the rounds, it is necessary that minimum one of the four
players on the board has to be a girl player.
Board order has to submitted to the event coordinator on the
day of the tournament an hour before Round 1 starts.
Time Control: 10 min + 5 sec increment per move from move
number 1
Walk over time: Full time. Inform the event coordinator
beforehand if a player will arrive late for the game.
All players who wish to participate in Chess or any other
Sportsfete event must mandatorily participate in the Marathon
tentatively to be held on April 1st, 2023. A candidate who didn’t
take part in the marathon will be allowed to participate in
Chess with a penalty of 1.5 points for their department.
Players are requested to BRING THEIR OWN CHESS SETS.
All latest FIDE rules will be followed.
Event Coordinator decision is FINAL binding on all players.
CRICKET (BOYS)
POINTS:-

2nd place- 16
3rd place- 12
RULES:-
All ICC rules to be followed.
Tournament is conducted on Knockout basis.
Each team should consist of 11 players (+4 sub). Each innings is
of 8 overs (A bowler can bowl a maximum of two overs). 3rd
place and Finals will be a 20 over game (A bowler can bowl a
maximum of four overs). Also, the number of overs can be
changed by the event coordinators if there is time constraint.
Matches will be played with a cricket ball (leather ball) and will
be a new ball or semi new ball (one side will have complete
shine and other side will be with partly shine) for a match
based on availability.
Compulsory whites (white tee and white track) to be worn by
all players including substitutes.
All standard international rules apply (example decisions
regarding lbw and no-ball are there).
1st 2 overs-mandatory powerplay. NO SUBSEQUENT
POWERPLAYS. Only two fielders allowed outside the ring
during power play. For the 3rd place and finals the first six
overs will be power play.
No-ball to be awarded if any player of the fielding team speaks
or cheers during ball being bowled.
Umpire’s decision is final.
Penalty of runs or reducing the number of overs to be bowled
for exceeding time limit.
Note for all the captains: -
The decision of the umpire will be final and any form of
violation in terms of arguments with the umpire will eventually
lead to the disqualification of the team.
Teams should report at the given time on the field, failing to do
so will lead to the reducing the number of overs to be bowled
by the team or to the disqualification of the team.
Any other queries can be made with the event coordinator and
only them. Information regarding fixtures and groups cannot
be questioned.
The schedule of their respective games shall be informed in
advance and hence all players from the respective teams must
arrive at least half an hour prior to each game.
Matches should be played in the spirit of the game.
All cricket equipment needs to be used with care. Damaging of
equipment will be dealt with serious consequences.
CRICKET (GIRLS)
POINTS:
1st place - 20
2nd place - 16
3rd place - 12
RULES: -
Tournament is conducted on Knockout basis.
6 girls per side (+3 sub). Sub allowed only when any player is
injured.
6 overs per innings.
In 6 overs match minimum of 3 bowlers to be used.
Finals alone would be of 8 over where minimum 4 bowlers to
be used.
1 run for wide and no ball. Extras only for wide and no-balls.
Overthrow is there.
Free hit for the ball delivered after no ball (overstepping)
You can either chuck the ball or bowl. No under arm bowling
Full toss above the waist is a no ball
2 runs for boundary behind the stumps.
No runs for leg-bye, bye. No lbw dismissals.
No fielder allowed to stand behind the bowler before the ball is
delivered.
Cosco double colour ball would be used.
Penalty of runs for exceeding time limit.
Note for all the captains:
The decision of the umpire will be final and any form of
violation in terms of arguments with the umpire will eventually
lead to the disqualification of the team.
Teams should report at the given time on the field, failing to do
so without prior information will lead to negative points.
If the team didn’t turn up for the match, then it is taken as loss
of match for them and other team will be rewarded the
winning points.
Except the captains, no other member (maybe a team
members or team management or coach) has the right to
have discussion with the umpire regarding any decision made
by the umpire and any violation of this rule will eventually lead
to the disqualification of the team.
FOOTBALL (BOYS)
POINTS: -
1st place - 20
2nd place - 16
3rd place - 12
RULES: -
League cum knockout format.
Each group match will have a half time of 20-5-20 minutes.
Knockout phase will have a half time of 25-5-25 minutes.
If a group match ends in a draw, the points will be split.
Any match deemed a WALKOVER, the winning team will get 3
points and plus 3 goals (Losing team gets No points and minus
3 goals.)
Positions within the Leagues will be calculated by
1. Number of points.
2. Goal difference.
3. Goals scored.
4. Yellow Cards.
5. Red Cards.
If there is still a tie between two teams, then the result will be
declared by penalties.
If rains and match can’t be played each team gets 1 point.
Winners of each group proceed to the knockout stage.
If a knockout match ends in a draw, match proceeds to
Penalties.
Maximum of 16 players per department.
Rolling substitutions are allowed.
Teams are expected to report 10 minutes before the start of
each match. Any team that reports late or not coming without
prior information will be will be awarded negative points.
The Referee’s decision is final and abiding. Any argument with
officials will not be tolerated.
Foul language or fighting will not be entertained. Strict action
will be taken against the team involved in any of these acts.
Yellow cards in consecutive matches carry over and subject to
miss next match (applicable for group stage and quater finals).
Will reset from semi finals onwards.
All other standard FIFA rules apply.

RULES:

Each team can have a maximum of 8 players with 5 players
inside the field including a goal keeper.
If rains and match can’t be played each team gets 1 point
Rolling substitutions are allowed.
Teams are requested to be there in the ground 10 minutes
before the start of their match. Any team that reports late or
not coming without prior information will be awarded negative
points.
The Referee’s decision is final and abiding. Any argument with

A Single game has a duration of 35 minutes, divided into two
halves of 15 minutes with a break of 5 minutes between the
two halves (though semi-final and final timing decision is in
the hands of referee).
IHF rules/fouls of double dribble, carry, 3 second hold, walk, line
cut applies along with passive play and aggression.
Decisions of free throw, 7-meter penalty, corner in and throw in
rests on referee.
The final decision is made by the field referee which must
strictly be adhered to.
All the players should wear shorts. Track pants and jeans are
not allowed.
The goal keeper can wear track pants.
All the players should wear sports shoes. Being barefoot and
wearing boots or spikes are not allowed. All the players must
cut their nails properly before the game starts.
If a match ends in a tie, 5 minutes’ extra time (maximum twice)
will be given.
If it is still a tie, the outcome of the match will be decided by
penalty shoot-out (though the final decision depends on the

maximum of 5 players on the field and up to 3 substitutes.
RULES:
Duration of the match will be 15-5-15mins.
A goal is scored only when the ball crosses the goal line and is
played within the "D" by an attacker.
Centre start at the start of play and after a goal, side-line start
for the ball outside the field and when fouled, take the ball
close to the location of the foul and restart
Passes and shots should be strictly either push or tap, other
means will be considered foul.
Rolling substitutions are allowed.
If a knockout match ends in a draw, the match proceeds to
Penalties.
The Penalty stroke will start from the centre line.
Suspension cards
1. Green card – 1-minute suspension
2. Yellow card – 2-minute suspension for severe offence.
3. Red card- the player is not allowed to play the tournament
Captain:

Captains must wear a distinctive armband or similar
distinguishing article on an upper arm or shoulder or over the

the waist not allowed.
Dangerous play can be booked, and the player can be seated
out with a suspension card.

Each team shall consist of maximum of 12 players and 7 Players
shall take the ground at a time and the remaining players are
substitutes.
Duration of the match: Match shall be two halves of 15 minutes
with 5 minutes interval.
Semi-Finals and Finals will be two halves of 20 minutes with 5
minutes interval.
The teams will change court after interval.
The number of players for each team in the court at the start of
second half shall remain the same as it was at the end of first
half.
NOTE:
The last raid of each half of the match shall be allowed to be
completed even after completion of the scheduled time as
mentioned above.
Each team shall score one point for every opponent out or put
out. The side, which scores a LONA, shall score two extra points.
TIME OUT:
Each Team shall be allowed to take Two “Time Outs” of 30
Seconds each in each half; such time out shall be called for by
the Captain or any playing member of the team with the
permission of referee. The time out time shall be added to
match time.
During the time out, the teams shall not leave the ground, any
violation in this; a technical point shall be awarded to the
opponent team.
BONUS POINT:
point shall be awarded to the raider when he crosses the bonus line.
If the raider after crossing the bonus line is caught, the opponent
team is awarded one point.
The Bonus line will be applicable when there are minimum 6 players
in the court.
SUPER TACKLE:
Super tackle is specific scenario where a rider from the opponent
team has to be tackled or caught by either 3 or less than 3 players of
the defending team. In case of super tackle, the defending team will
be awarded with two points.
Referee’s decision is final.
DO OR DIE:
When your team has not scored a point in 2 continuous raids, then
the third raid is do or die raid.
If you have not scored a point (bonus or touch point)in your do or die
raid, then you will be considered as out and 1 point will be given to
the opposite team.
SUBSTITUTION:
Substituted Players can be re-substituted. Substitution is not allowed
for the players that are out.
No substitution is allowed during the official time out.
TIE BREAKER:
Each side nominates 7 players to take the court for the tie-breaker.
Every raid is a do-or-die raid, meaning if the raider comes back
without a point-scoring action, the defending team will get a point.
Raiders are nominated before the tie-breaker, and the order cannot
change at any point during the tie-breaker.
The block line, which generally signifies a legitimate raid, also acts as
the bonus line during the tie-breaker.
There are no outs or revivals, as is normally the case after a
successful raid or tackle. Each team will have 7 players on court at all
points during the tie-breaker.

Each match consists of two innings with a 5 mins break in-
between.
Each league match will be of 7-2-7-5-7-2-7 mins consisting of two
innings where each inning includes,
7 mins – Running/ chasing.
2 mins – Break
7 mins – Running/ chasing.
Finals and semi-finals match will be of 7-2-7-5-7-2-7 mins.
To give “KHO”:
To give KHO, the Attacker should touch the Chaser by hand
behind him and then utter the word “KHO” loudly and distinctly.
If the action of uttering the word “KHO” precedes the action of
touching by hand, then it shall be deemed as foul.
If an Attacker utters any word other than the word “KHO” it will
be deemed as foul.
The seated chaser shall not get up without getting “KHO”.
Active chaser can touch their team chasers who are sitting in the
field except for chasers near the post. If an active chaser touches
an inactive chaser near the post, he must give “KHO” there itself
otherwise it will be treated as foul.
Chaser should not cross the center line, if did, it is considered as
foul.
After touching the runner, the chaser should not turn back while
appealing for out.
Every team must be present on or before their allotted time.
Buffer time of 15 mins will be allowed, any team that reports
late without prior information will have to give a walkover and
the opponent will be announced as the winner.
Umpire decision is final in any dispute (faults, points,
judgments). One should not argue with umpires. Runners
should not touch chasers (Intentionally). They will be warned
two times, if repeated further, he will be given out.
In case of a walkover, the opponent team will be declared the
winner with a difference of 9 points.
KHO-KHO (GIRLS)
POINTS:
1st Place - 20
2nd Place - 16
3rd Place - 12
RULES:
Each team consists of 12 players, 9 players on the field, and 3
substitutes.
Each match consists of two innings with a 5 mins break in-
between.
Each league match will be of 6-2-6-5-6-2-6 mins consisting of
two innings where each inning includes,
6 mins – Running/ chasing.
2 mins – Break
6 mins – Running/ chasing.
Finals and semi-finals match will be of 7-2-7-5-7-2-7 mins.

RULES :
The competition will be held as per the International
Powerlifting Federation Rules unless otherwise modified.
Athletes (for men) in the sport are divided in two weight
classes and placing is based on the total weight lifted on the
three main lifts for boys :
1. Squat
2. Bench Press
3. Deadlift
As soon as you lift the bar, set your shoulders back and ensure
your knees are locked out. Any downward movement of the bar
before it reaches the final position will lead to disqualification as
well as hitching is not allowed.
Common rule:-
Once the bar starts moving up, it can stop momentarily but
should not go down.

RULES:
For each event, at most 2 participants can participate from
each department.
A minimum of
a) For boys 3 departments
b) For girls 2 department
have to be registered for an event to take place, or else the
event will be scrapped.
Only one relay team per department can participate in a relay
event.
Minimum of 2 teams must be there for a relay event to take
place, or it will be scrapped.
A participant can participate in a maximum of 4 events
excluding relay.
All events will be conducted on a time trial basis only. (No heats
and finals process)
All participants shall bring their swimming gear. The
Swimming gear will not be provided to them by the
organizers.
Participants should report to the venue on time. The events
will happen as scheduled, and latecomers will not be given a
second chance to participate in the events they have missed.
Events will be conducted only once.
Standard FINA rules apply.
Participants must know swimming and will be checked by the
organizer before participating in the event.
TABLE TENNIS (MIXED)
POINTS:

RULES:
Only 1 team per department.
Each team should have minimum of 2 boys and 2 girls and
maximum
of 4 boys and 4 girls.
The tournament is conducted on a knockout basis.
The order of play for each match will be:
1. Boys Singles
2. Girls Singles
3. Mixed Doubles
4. Boys doubles
5. Girls Doubles
The order of play can be changed only if both the departments
are willing to change.
All ITTF rules are applicable.
Each game will be played for best for 3 sets and Semi-finals
and finals will be best of 5 sets.
Umpire decision will be final.
Report 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time.
If the respective team does not report for its match as per the
schedule without prior information the opponent team will get
a walk-over.
All the participants are requested to bring their own racquet
but the balls will be provided by the organizers for all the
matches.
TENNIS (BOYS)

Maximum of two teams can register per department.
Minimum of two players and maximum of four players per
team.
Three matches will be played in the order of 1st singles,
doubles, 2nd

All Matches till quarter-finals will be a set and Standard
International Tennis Federation rules apply (ITF).
Semi-finals will be best of 17 games (8-all tie breaker).
Final: best 19 games (9-all tie breaker).
The team which wins two matches first will be the winner of
that round.
The referee’s decision will be final. Teams not adhering to the
rules and regulations will be disqualified from the event.
Tennis balls will be provided. The players are requested to
bring their own accessories and equipments.

THROWBALL (GIRLS)

RULES:
The tournament will be conducted on a knockout basis.
Each team will consist of 6 active players and 4 substitutes.
Rotation is mandatory.
Any ball after catching should be released within 3 seconds
and underarm throws are not allowed.
Service must be done within 8 seconds of referee’s whistle, or
else the serve will be passed, and point will be awarded to the
opponent.
Service should cross the front line of the other team.
Service should not touch the net and under arm serves are not
allowed.
Players cannot touch the net during the play, but the ball can
touch the net.
During catching or releasing, the ball should not touch any
part of the body except the palm.
2 players cannot catch the ball simultaneously.
Shifting the ball from right to left or left to right or deliberately
pushing is not permitted.
Carry of ball is also a foul and the team will lose its point.
Jump and throw is allowed but jump and catch is not allowed.
During the play or rally, players cannot cross the net or
obstruct the opponent team.
Double touch (juggling the ball in both hands) is not allowed
while receiving the service ball.
Timeouts 2 per match and 30 seconds duration for each.
First two sets 25 points each and last set 15 points.
Teams can substitute only when it is their turn to serve; only
exception is if a player gets injured. Only 1 person can be
substituted at a time up to a maximum of 3 substitutes per
set.
Referee’s decision is final and any appeal or argument
against it will not be entertained.

A series of events that test the abilities of one. Each event will be
focused on a particular core activity. It will consist of solo, duo, and
trio member events. These events are designed to test a wide
range of abilities, including speed, power, agility, endurance, and
coordination.
RULES:
Balloon Cup Battle -With a set of balloons and paper cups, the
participants will compete against a sportsfete organizer to
score a goal. After blowing up the balloon, they must move the
paper cups without touching them by merely blowing air from
the deflated balloon. The sportsfete organizer will do the same
against the participants.
Accuracy Darting - In this game the players will be throwing
darts at a circular board with numbered sections to score
points and aim for target areas closer to the bull's eye for
bonus points.
Rapid Fire- Each member of the team will have to clear a quiz
designed to test the knowledge and quick thinking of the
participants. The game consists of a series of questions asked
by the quiz master, with participants answering as quickly as
possible.
Rubik's cube - Each participant is timed, and solving the 3x3
cube will get you clear the round. Any use of outside assistance
or manipulation of the cube is strictly prohibited and may
result in disqualification.
Memorize the move - Chess moves are made by a sportsfete
organizer and the participants are expected to remember
them. After completing the successive round in the event the
chess moves must be replicated by the participant. If not the
event has to be repeated.
Move, Catch, and Splash - Water balloon tossing is an exciting
game where two players from each team toss a water-filled
balloon back and forth, trying to catch it without breaking it.
After each successful toss, the team members move farther
from each other. The teams have to reach the specified
distance to pass the round.
Guide the Blindfolded - Any one individual will be blindfolded
and the other teammates will guide the person to complete
the given task for the team.
Jump your luck - The lottery's results will determine how far
the contestants in this event must jump. The requirement that
players be ready to potentially jump a long way adds an
element of thrill to the lottery.
Together we finish - This is a pedicab/ cycle rickshaw event. In
this event, a person, known as the "rickshaw runner," carries
the other teammates, known as the "passengers," on a bicycle.
The rickshaw runner pedals the bicycle while the passenger
sits back and enjoys the ride simultaneously helping maintain
balance, with the objective being to complete the race in the
shortest time possible.

DESCRIPTION:
March past is all about synchronization and teamwork, it
emends alertness and unspoken coordination.
March past is referred to an organized and uniformed
marching by a contingent representing their respective
department.
It involves steady walking in the forward movement, which is
either route-step time or rhythmic type.
The occurrence of each step is on each commands.
RULES AND REGULATIONS:
One contingent per department
Each contingent should have a minimum of 30 - a maximum
of 60 people. There will be a negative marking if the
contingent size is not within the given range.
Each department contingent must have a minimum of 6 boys
and 6 girls
Proper sports shoes are necessary.
The dress code should be the Sportsfete department Jersey
and black track pants.
The Parade commander(The person with the dept placard) has
to say these 3 commands (Attention, Stand at ease, March) by
saying "Contingent command" . The rest of the contingent has
to follow that.
Flag and placard will be provided by the sportsfete team.
The commands for the march past will be given by the NCC
cadets.
