Online gaming is extremely common in the present era. Students today are particularly susceptible to
the enormous impact of technology. They focus more on online gaming than on their academic or
academic-related achievement in school. Knowing that using technology excessively has a significant
negative impact on academic achievement, epidemics are constantly affecting pupils one by one. The
researcher was intrigued to learn the location of the students after noticing how frequently they
discussed this staple (javelosa, 2021).

Investments in the growth of the human and economic populations should include education. Ongoing
calls for a tighter rein on online gaming have come from numerous educators, parents, and internet
users. The main point of contention was how the fashion trend is now causing pupils to become
distracted from their studies. Online games grew popular among students since most of them live
informed lives and are always updated (Rodica, 2019).

Online gaming providing something that no one else can provide is definitely dubious (Castillo, 2017).It
is undeniably questionable that playing online games provide something that no one can give (Irchi,
2017). Studies revealed that the human brain is easy to destruct and one of the reasons is using
technology. The education system tends to go with the flow with this constant change in the society in
order to get things relevant to the generations today (Castillo, 2017).. The dark side of playing online
games became an issue of debate in school and the whole Education Department at large. Thus, this
study is conducted to determine the associations of playing online games towards students’ academic
performance (Rodica, 2019).
