Statement of the Problem

This study aims to find out the career path of management accounting graduate
of local university academic year 2019-2022.

Specially, it aimed to answer the following questions:

1. What is the Demographic profile of the respondents in terms of:


1.1. Gender
1.2. Age, and
1.3. Academic year
1.4. Occupation

2. What are the different factors that affect management accounting graduates in
choosing their career path in terms of:

2.1. Knowledge

2.2. Expertise

2.3. Attitude, and

2.4. Values/Personality

3. To what extent do recently graduated management accounting students perceive


that their employability skills have been developed as part of their accounting
curriculum program in terms of:
3.1. Knowledge
3.2. Expertise
3.3. Attitude, and
3.4. Values/Personality

4. Which professional skill sets do companies expect management accounting


graduates to have at entry level in terms of:
4.1. Knowledge
4.2. Expertise
4.3. Attitude, and
4.4. Values/Personality

CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK

This study will use the input- process-output (IPO) model proposed by Dans D.L.
Shuffle beam (2002). Figure 1 presents the paradigm showing the input, the process
and the output.

The input consists the Career Path of Management Accounting graduates of


Local University. It includes the profile of Management Accounting graduates in terns of
gender, age, academic year and occupation. Also, it involves factors affecting the
Management Accounting graduates in choosing their career path in terms of knowledge,
expertise, attitude and values/personality.

The process involves conducting a survey using a research-made


questionnaire to gather information. This also involves a collection of data and statistical
analysis that will be needed for interpreting the results.

The output is the investigative results in determining the profile and factors
that affect Management Accounting Student in choosing their career choice.
