• Fixes when larger nodes could not initialize (the network card kept failing).
• Available for single duart and dual duart boards
• NET30299.MOT is for the single DUART network card order chip 741-025 for boards
565-189, 245, 277, 407, and 409 burn with blank chip 246-326, checksum = A5E1

Firmware 3.02.93 (more recent than 3.02.99)

• Fixes a random reset of network cards happening once a week on fiber optics
• Only available for dual-duart board 565-516.
• NET30293.MOT is for the dual duart network card order chip 740-927 for board 565-516
burn with blank chip 246-326, checksum = 6A31
• PC30293.MOT is for the GCC/NPU card order chip 740-854 for board 565-202 burn with
blank chip 246-326, checksum = C188

How to Burn a chip using the PROMAC

1) Download the files from the Technical Support Home page (Intranet), Fire Alarm, Download,
4120, Firmware MOT files, NetFirm.exe (this is a self extracting file)
Running file this will give you two .MOT files: net30299.mot and net30293.mot.

2) Choose the right file

• If you have a single Duart network card (565-407 or 565-409) you will use
Net30299.mot.
• If you have a Double Duart network card (565-516) you will use Net30293.mot.
• If you have a GCC/NPU card (565-202) you will use PC30293.mot

3) Connect a NULL MODEM cable from the PROMAC to COM1

4) At the computer, re-boot to DOS Mode, and then type the command
Mode Com1: 9600 N 8 1
5) Put an erased prom chip in the Promac. Set the Promac for this chip by pressing [Romtype]
[Auto] and [Set]. If this gives a Signature error, use [Romtype] [Maker] and try using similar
chip from other makers.
6) Next press [Edit] [4] [Set] on the Promac to Clear Ram 0-7FFF with FF.
7) Check for correct Seria l download with [Function] [4] [Set] (9600 8bit NON SP1)
8) Set Promac for Serial Download, Press [Function] [6] [Set]
9) Copy Net30299.mot to the Promac. (Copy NET30299.mot COM1: )
10) When the copy is completed, press [Device] [BPV] [Set]. This will start the chip burning.
When the chip is complete, verify the checksum from above.
