Patient: I try to, but it’s quite difficult.
4
Dentist: Please open your mouth a little wider, your back teeth.
I can see that the ones in your lower jaw haven’t properly come through yet.
Patient: Yes they’re still pretty painful.
5
Dentist: Right, in your upper jaw on both sides you have some
cavities. You are going to need some temporary fillings.
Patient: Oh no. Hmm, can you do that today?

Dentist: Yes, I can. how big the cavities are. We might need to
take out the teeth.
7

Dentist: Sure, I understand. If you have any pain when you have the temporary fillings this
is a sign that there might be a bigger problem. If there’s no pain, we can put in
permanent ones.
Patient: How long do I need the temporary ones for?
