 INTRODUCTION
Sometimes we all need to know that we are not alone. We need
to know that someone is there for us and people also get where
we are coming from and what exactly we are feeling.

HER IN 10 POEMS is a rendering of the emotions of the writer to

release the voice inside her. Enjoy her words as they caress and
warm you with the thought that you are not alone.

 CHAPTER ONE
WHAT DO I TELL HER?
Am here

What else can I say?

How angry can I get?

How hurt can I be?

I’m starting with the girl in the mirror

Watching as tears roll down her eyes

As she lost and can’t find herself

How broken can she be

How heartless can she become?

What little fate does she have left?

Sweetheart I wish I could hold you

I wish I could tell you

That everything would be alright

 That you have not been abandoned

That you are loved

But I don’t know how

As she cries silently

Screaming, with no words coming out

Lost in her little dark world

She has given up on prince charming

Given up on life itself

That voice in her head is screaming

Don’t let go

Just hang on a little longer

But no one said this would be easy

How else can she tell herself

She’s going to be alright?

How will the world that left cookie crumbs

Not attract the ants

She thought she was better than this

That she was worth fighting for

That she was worth it all

But look at her in the mirror

She can’t even stare at me for long

I see the look of disappointment in her eyes

I read the betrayal in her heart

I see the one cloud in her mind

What do I tell her?

CHAPTER TWO
I WILL
You caused the heaviness

You have always looked at me

 Like I would end up like your sister

Like I would not amount to anything

That I will just be a disgrace to you

That was why I pleaded with God

And begged Him not to end up like that

I was willing to surrender

As much as I didn't want to

But yet he answered

And I was willing and still willing to serve

There you were again

Standing at the side telling how much I had failed

That I was making a mistake just because I was not doing it your
way

I lost sight of the reason I started

Serving but Instead to spite you

I hope and I prayed that maybe God would show you what I
wanted him to

But yet he kept putting the game over my head

That I would say it

Only then will this burden be lifted

I will serve where God has asked me

Because my journey back

Has been a struggle with my spirit

 But I want to be done and done

I have made the decision to serve God where he asked me to

I wanted your blessing but to serve I don't need it....

I will not hold back anymore

I will let him use me exactly just the way and when

He is still showing me the road

And I like the fact that I do not know where I am headed

But it's not my job to know but to follow

 CHAPTER THREE
WHAT ELSE COULD I SAY
What else could I say

That could let this go away?

That will make the times of the crazy thought wash away.

Creativity a blessing and a curse

A mind filled with endless ideas

But a hand filled with shapeless Carvers

A mound stands before me

 Waiting for the beauty within to be blurted out by the skins of
my hands

But yet my hands are trembling

The tools are shaking because the hands are willing to move

But the head cannot accept it...

It wants it to be perfect

It wants the world to be proud of its master piece

But nothing is following, instead it's getting heavy

From all the little whispers running through it.

I have heard; all you need to do is start

I have also heard that all you need to do to start is just one

But here in a little world that I have created for myself,

Everything is screaming on the top of their lungs

Banging their heads against the wall fighting for survival.

But what that sends you to an endless spiral of depression

Not wanting to end this world without dropping every last bit of
the man that you are meant to be

Farewell till tomorrow

Till we meet again

Greatness is just on the other side

Don’t know how far I have gotten

But I know that I won't give up till I reach that door and yet bang
the door behind me.

 CHAPTER FOUR
GOODBYE
I see the way you look at me

like I was just a piece of meat

for your viewing pleasure

I wanted to give my heart

although I knew it would cause me pain

love for us was just an undesirable tale

I became just a thought to loose

darkness is the only light of our life

nothing in turn would make sense

goodbye to the heart I once wanted to love

goodbye to all the thoughts in my mind

this is the end

someday all we once knew would just be an imagination

MEET ME HALFWAY
Meet me halfway

She said

We can do this

She said

I’m with you

She said

I won’t leave you

She said

I won’t betray you

She said

I trust you

She said

Meet me halfway

In the midst of the loneliness

She said

I would hold your hand

Love would find you

Love would caress you

CHAPTER SIX
I HAVE FAILED
I have failed

To see the writing

On the wall

To wake up

With a little bit of cheer

To dance around in the rain

I have failed

To smell the grass

To look up at the hill

To feel the heat of the sun

I have failed

To live outside of my head

To make someone

Break me down

I have failed

CHAPTER SEVEN
I ONCE WAS
I was once a happy little girl

 Smiling and never singing

out of tune

my hops to my steps

could always be felt

but yet all that turn for sour

and I could no longer

find the will to live

as my very innocence

snatched from my claws

as I held it closely to my heart

that night still rings

soundly in my mind

as a scar that I cannot heal

he came with a smile

like they always do

Never thought anything of him

he was always the uncle that came around

the uncle that always had gifts to give

just one night my parents decided to step out

with the intention that uncle was around

but little did they know that the uncle

would be the one to destroy me

 he crept into my room as a thief in the night

decided to start touching and before I could scream

my mouth was covered

as he became violent all I could do was scream

into his hands as tears ran through my face

when uncle was done all he could say was don't tell your
parents

Now what do I do

Is there any reason to breath?

 CHAPTER EIGHT
ALL I HAVE
It might seem that

All of I have are just words.

I don't know what else I could be to you

What scares me the most is that

I would be next to you and I can't make you happy

I want to be able to bring smiles to your face

When the thought of me crosses your mind

To let you know that you are special

The best and perfect to me

Just for a moment with me you forget everything else

CHAPTER NINE
I WOKE UP
I woke up this morning

Trying to roll out of bed

Nothing felt right

Nothing felt good

I hated myself

But yet I had to smile

Silence is all I have

I want to disappear

And not look back

I thought death

Would be easier

Maybe I would stop

Feeling so down

Feeling so useless

But then I stopped

What if I changed

What if I wanted

 to correct it all

What if I wanted an answer?

Then I stood up

That’s how I woke up

LIGHTS CAMERA ACTION
I have never been so lost for words.

Never known how much I did not know.

What story would the world say?

What life did she live?

What road did she cross?
