Upgrade the machine to the firmware version where you have the possibility to enter “Manual input in U155”

Then we have added/removed waste toner from a WT box until the weight is 600g (measured with a scale that can
weight in 1g interval)
When you insert the test/calibration WT 600g you can run a U030 “Toner recovery” for 30sec. to be sure that the
toner is “leveled/even distributed” inside the WT so you don’t get a false calibration.
Calibrated the machine in U155 with manual input to get the machine to report that this 600g WT is full.

You have to do the calibration on each machine, because the sensors is not reporting the same value on each
machine.
(The machines that we have calibrated, reported full within +120 to +127 in the value “Full”)
Each time you change the value you have to reboot the machine to see if it will report WT full.

The different weight of waste toner container

New empty WT 160g
Factory full WT capacity 800g
Possible to fail if more than 650g
The calibration WT we have made 600g

Here is an example of the values detected on Iris2

Vaules in “U155 Manuel Input - Full” with the “Calibrating Waste Toner on 600g”
+112 WT OK Level 80
+113 WT Almost full Level 90
+114 WT Almost full Level 90
+115 WT Almost full Level 90
+116 WT Almost full Level 90
+117 WT Almost full Level 90
+118 WT Almost full Level 90
+119 WT Almost full Level 90
+120 WT Full Level 100

(The original values from factory on this machine was Non 233, Empty 190, Full 107)

When you have used it to calibrate you have to check the weight on a scale again to see if the machine have added
more toner to the waste toner.
You can test if the machine is throwing wastetoner in the bottle:
Developer cleaning this will add aprox 20g to the waste toner.
Drum clean/refresh add approx 3,4g-3,6g
Laser clean approx 1-2g
Some pictures to explain:
Menu item “Manual input” has to exist or the firmware is too old.

In “Manual Input” change the number to get the machine to report “Full Waste toner”
The value you have to change is “Full”
Higher value will decrease the amount of waste toner that can be in the Waste Toner box before the machine is
reporting full WT.
Lower value will increase the amount of waste toner that can be in the Waste Toner box before the machine is
reporting full WT.

In Calibration you can see the “Level” of the waste toner box in 10% interval
When showing 255 the machine is detecting the value, press stop and enter the “Calibration” menu again when the
machine is in idle state to see the correct value reported by the sensor.
Level 0 = New empty waste toner bottle
Level 80 = OK
Level 90 = Machine is starting to report waste toner almost full
Level 100 = Waste toner full
Level 255 = Machine is detecting the value
