The Sayre Healthcare Center’s core values of support, growth, and care really struck a
chord with my own core values as an individual seeking a career in human resources. After
spending some time working in hospitality at your location several years ago, it is appropriate to
return to your building with my recently acquired education and further developed leadership
skills so that I may begin developing my career in HR. After reflecting on my time spent
working at your institution I wish to return and provide concrete improvements between staff,
management, and even patients.
I believe that the heart of healthcare and developing quality care for patients begins with quality
staff relationships. Given that the nurses, management, kitchen, and janitorial staff are under
constant pressure from patients as well as family members, it takes firsthand knowledge to truly
understand where the floor members are coming from when they feel the need to talk to human
resources. With my previous experience in hospitality at this care center, I am postive I can relate
to, empathise with, and work with any staff that needs assistance.
During my time away from Sayre Healthcare at college, I have spent my time developing many
skills that complement my education and career goals. I spent two years leading Phi-Mu-Alpha
fraternity's probationary members. During this time, my role in their process involved
coordinating meetings between new members and previous members while assisting them in
scheduling fundraising events and other activities. While with PMA, I was elected as treasurer as
well and handled all the chapter's funding and scheduling for numerous fundraisers and social
events. I was also elected the captain of Mansfield’s Overwatch Esports team. During this year
as captain, I had to promote constant encouragement, clear and concise communication during
tense situations, cohesive teamwork, and scheduling for practices both with team and during
individual time.
These developed skills, along with my previous experience at Sayre Healthcare working
for/with every department of both facilities, gives me much further insight and appropriate
management skills for the position of HR Mangement at your facility. I wish to provide the best
services in both support and efficiency, to provide the staff with the least amount of stress
manageable, so that staff can in turn provide the best possible care for the patients in the facility.
