pickleball
Yes, PICKLEBALL – the fun game with the funny name, is one of the fastest-growing sports in the nation!
Created in the backyard of Washington Congressman Joel Pritchard in 1965, it is a combination of badminton,
tennis and table tennis, and is enjoyed by all age groups. Using a badminton-size court, tennis-height net, table
tennis-type paddle, and a baseball-sized wiffle ball, usually played by doubles, this game has few rules and is
far less strenuous than tennis. It is easy to learn and provides plenty of exercise and eye-hand coordination; a
game of strategy for both men and women, you don’t have to be tall and powerful. Want to watch a video? Go to

SUMMER DRAMA CAMP:

Presented by MT REC DEPT & GATHERING ON THE GREEN

For students entering grades 4 - 8

Performances on the Thiensville River Stage at Village Park in Thiensville

In this hilarious and fast-paced predator-vs-prey send-up, your audience will squeal with delight as the 33
pigs in the meadow continuously outsmart the hungry wolf, much in the style of Roadrunner and Coyote
or Tom and Jerry. From Straw, Stick, and Brick pigs to Pirate, Chef, and Ninja pigs (plus 27 endearing
others!), they each have their chance to misdirect, heckle, and hound the bumbling Big Bad Wolf, who only
finds himself further and further from getting his fill of little piggies!

Summer camp will include theater games, acting tips, lots of acting and of course a chance to perform
outside on the Thiensville River Stage for our second summer! You will make lots of new drama buddies
and have a fun two weeks working together as a team. There are so many wonderful parts for young actors
to play! This camp is for first time actors and for actors with experience. All participants will receive a
free T-shirt.

Amazing Athletes
Amazing Athletes is an educational sports and fitness program teaching children the basic fundamentals and
mechanics of the following 10 sports: Baseball, Basketball, Football, Golf, Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Tennis,
Track & Field and Volleyball. We will also focus on the 7 key areas of motor-development through games, obstacle
courses and other fun fitness activities. Our program incorporates exercises for gross motor development, hand-
eye coordination, cardio-vascular fitness, speed and agility and stretching and muscle tone.
By introducing kids to a variety of sports and physical activities at a young age, they have a greater chance of
finding a few things they like. Children participating in sports and fitness at an early age will expose to them an
active and healthy lifestyle, which is our main goal!
