sans2017 ‘Scrubbing for clean air WET FGD SCRUBBING Carmeuse’s reputation and recognition as a leader in the industry has grown and we have developed strong alliances and relationships with the companies in FGT processes. We offer our customers applications solutions that provide the lowest overall cost and significant savings. In the power generation industry chemical grade limestone is used in: Wet FGD scrubbing Limestone Forced Oxidation (LSFO) FGD units utilize limestone that is either wet milled on site to yield a 30 wt. % limestone suspension in water with typically 90% of particles smaller than 44 microns (325 mesh) or supplies pulverized ready to slurry and used in the scrubber. Flue gas from a high efficiency particulate collector flows to one of the following contact vessels: Open spray tower Tray tower Jet bubbling reactor After the flue gas passes through one of the vessels it flows through mist eliminators that remove liquid by impingement enabling clean flue gas to flow to the atmosphere. After reacting to remove SO, the calcium sulfite slurry is forced oxidized to make by-product gypsum which is then utilized in the wallboard industry sans2017 ‘Scrubbing for clean air Clean Gas to Atmosphere ‘Slaked Lims or Hydrated Lime’ Dry FGD / Fly ash byproduct to use or Recycle of Lime /FGD | Flyash Typical FGD Design for Dry Scrubbing iipuiwn.carmeusena.compr oducsichenical-grade-timestonevet-g-srubing
