Is TV good for children? Actually, TV is one of the most influential for society in
two different sides especially for children; it can be useful, educated, and also addictive,
even harmful. For children, it is hard to avoid television if people in the house are
usually watching TV. It is common for parents to use TV as a substitute babysitter. Also,
many parents buy videos that they think can make their kids are smart. But how does
watching TV really affect children?
In one side, TV is not all that bad; TV impact could give us some eases. First, all
programs on TV are basically designed to entertain and give information to people.
They help them relax and get to know about different news or information. They also
make them laugh because they are amusing. Next, some TV shows can educate, inform
and inspire. Many different programs have been to serve children good lessons through
cartoon films, games, music, sport, and local film series for children. It can be more
effective than books or audiotapes in teaching children about processes like how a plant
grows or how to bake a cake.
In contrast, TV exposes children to negative influences, and promotes negative
behavior. Some programs, however, are sometimes about the exhibition of violence,
sarcasm, crimes, murder, etc. For instance, twenty years of research has shown that
children who are more exposed to media violence behave more aggressively as kids and
when they are older. They are taught by TV that violence is the way to resolve conflict –
as when a TV hero beats up a bad guy to subdue him. Moreover, it has bad effect for
their health. Children who watch too much TV are usually overweight, according to the
American Medical Association. Children often snack on junk food while watching TV.
They are also influenced by commercials to consume unhealthy food. Also, they are not
running, jumping, or doing activities that burn calories and increase metabolism.
Well, as the consequences of these bad effects, many parents should realize about
these problems. It is better if they can start to follow the good effects by selecting the
good programs for their children today. Not only it, but also they need to control their
children by accompanying them while watching TV. Last but not least, many parents
should remember to limit time of watching TV for their children because it is bad for
their health and education if it takes a long time.

3. The suitable title of the text above is ……

E. TV programs promote commercial products

Nobody likes paying taxes. Even those who know that taxation is necesary and just are
reluctant to pay taxes. It is not pleasant to see part of your monthly income taken away
from your income tax. Ignorant people think this is injustice and make grievance of it;
so it is just as well that we should know why we are taxed, so that we can see the
fairness of the system.
Every country must have a government of some sort or life would be impossible.
The primary duties of the government are to protect the life and property of the citizens,
to maintain law and order, and settle dispute between citizens in a just and orderly way
through the law- courts, to defend the country from foreign foes and to maintain the
roads and highways. Besides, many governments maintain and direct education, provide
hospitals for the sick and attend to sanitation. All these great public duties need money:
an army and navy have to be kept up, the police force and the judges have to be paid.
Schools have to be provided and teachers supported, expert health- officers and
sanitary engineers have to be employed. Now where is all the money needed for the
public service come from? The question is answered by another. For whose benefits are
all these service maintained? The answer is, for the benefits of the public. It is the
people as a whole, rich and the poor, that benefit administration of justice by the
maintenance of roads by the public hospital, public school and good sanitation.
Therefore it is only right that the public, the individual citizens of the country should
contribute the money needed: for the money benefits which all enjoy.

So long, therefore, we have a good and efficient government so long as our money
is being used in the right way and so long as the burden of taxation is distributed fairly,
as different classes can be bear it, we have no right to grumble at having to pay our
share of the taxes.

is based on renewable resources. It is produced from agricultural products, such as
sugar beet, sugar cane, potatoes, grains and raw materials such as pulp (smashed
wood or plant material), soft wood and waste paper. The raw materials for ethanol are
obtained from forests or farm. Trees do not need to be cut down to get ethanol; we
can get it from the branches and dead wood.

Secondly, ethanol, because of its alcohol nature, makes the vehicle engines run
more efficiently. This means that less fuel is used.

James Watt was born in Greenock on 19 January 1736. His father, also called James, was a
ship builder. As a boy Watt went to the local grammar school where he studied classics and
mathematics. The young Watt also liked making models.

Eventually, Watt decided to become a maker of mathematical instruments, such as

quadrants and compasses. In 1755 he went to London, but only stayed there for two years
before moving to Glasgow.

In 1764 Watt made a model of Newcomen steam engine. In this engine, the steam was
pushed into a cylinder, then condensed back into water. A year later Watt realized it would be
more efficient to condense the steam in another chamber separate from the cylinder. However,
it was not until 1769 that Watt patented his new idea, the separate condenser.

In 1775 he went into partnership with Matthew Boulton and began making steam
engines which were used for pumping water out of mines. By 1780 the Industrial Revolution
was beginning to transform life in Britain and Watt adapted his steam engines to provide a
rotary motion so they could be used to power machines in new factories.

In 1781 he used the sun to do this and four years later, steam engines were used to
power machines in cotton mills for the first time. Meanwhile, in 1782 Watt invented another
major improvement, the double–acting steam engines. In 1788 he invented the fly ball Royal to
regulate the speed of steam engines and he made a pressure gauge in 1790.

In 1785 Watt was elected a fellow of the Royal society and he retired from business in
