Today, keeping up with the speed of change in the business world is a demanding task.
Currently, technology is opening up new markets and creating innovative ways to serve
customers. Organizations need to push digital innovation beyond experimentation to drive
competitive advantage and continuously deliver value. The app-driven disruption is also
providing exponential growth opportunities.

Improving the value delivered to the clients has become a priority and an integral element of
digital transformation. The need has augmented for latest computing, framework and
infrastructure approaches to modernize the legacy systems. Enterprises need simplified
management so they can deploy emerging technologies and access new innovations faster
for digital transformation and growth. This would improve the agility, and help to achieve
increased productivity, stability, resiliency, flexibility to stay ahead of the curve.

Organizations are striving to be responsive to customer needs in a more flexible manner than
ever. Even the large corporates are trying to develop the nimbleness of a start-up along with
the predictability of a stable organization for getting quick insights of the market dynamics
and reorient and position their products and services accordingly. They have realised that the
competition in today’s world is emerging more frequently and difficult to anticipate. In fact,

A collaborative strategy development process between business and technology leaders can
help ensure that technology investments fit into the bigger picture and that business
opportunities can be supported by technology capabilities and investments. The business
leaders need to trust in technology’s ability to unlock deeper business value.

Organisations need to have bold and higher aspirations which is enabled by technology and
identifying the target audience for whom the value creation is to be delivered. To build the
value and maintain operational efficiency, the technology vision of the organisation has to be
aligned with the corporate strategy. The business leaders need to create an ecosystem along
with the tech leaders to drive cocreation and innovation by utilising the power of technology
and seeing it as an opportunity to enable business disruption and build sustainable
competitive advantage.

Technology leaders can help to identify the opportunities where technology can be the
differentiator and create sustainable business value and accelerate innovation. Business
leaders need to recognise the fact that technology has to be the core in overall strategy and

Against this backdrop CII Eastern Region is organising the annual flagship 2-day conference
22nd ICT East on 26-27 September 2023 at ITC Sonar, Kolkata with the central theme
“Reimagining Business Excellence Through Digital Transformation”.
