1)Writing a Research Proposal :This guide will help you understand what a research proposal is, how

to write one, and will show you the proper resources to perfect your proposal

Solicited proposals: Proposals submitted in response to a specific call issued by a sponsor. Such
solicitations, typically called Request for Proposals (RFP), or Request for Quotations (RFQ), are
usually have specific requirements for format and technical content, and may specify certain award
terms and conditions. Broad Agency Announcements (BAAs) are not considered formal solicitations.

Unsolicited proposals: Proposals submitted to a sponsor that has not issued a specific solicitation
but is believed by the investigator to have an interest in the subject.

Preproposals: These are requested by a sponsor who wants to minimize an applicant’s effort in
preparing a full proposal. Preproposals are usually in the form of a letter of intent or brief abstract.
After the preproposal is reviewed, the sponsor notifies the investigator if a full proposal is
warranted.

Continuation or non-competing proposals :These confirm the original proposal and funding
requirements of a multi-year project which the sponsor has already provided funding for an initial
period (normally one year). Continued support is usually dependent on satisfactory work progress
and the availability of funds.

Renewal or competing proposals:Proposals which request continued support for an existing project
that is about to end. These requests—from the sponsor’s viewpoint—generally have the same status
as an unsolicited proposal.

2) designer cover letter: Creating a cover letter that uses a standard format but also adds interest
can help you stand out as a job candidate in the fashion industry. Follow these steps below as you
prepare your cover letter to compliment your application for a fashion design job

Research the position and company; When you find a position you’d like to apply for, read over the
job posting carefully. Note the key skills employers want to see in their chosen candidate. Spend
time researching the company by reading their website, looking at their social media posts and
gleaning more information from other sources, like professional reviews and networking sites. Find
out who will receive the cover letter and learn more about their position within the company.

Format it correctly:Cover letters traditionally contain the following elements in order:

 Your contact information

 The date
 An opening greeting
 An opening paragraph
 A body paragraph
 A concluding or summary paragraph
 The closing greeting

5. Add personality :Your cover letter can help you get the attention of hiring personnel when you
add interest through unique content. Keep your tone professional as you choose phrases that
convey your distinct attributes and attitude about working for the organization. Share your passion
for the fashion industry by describing what you admire about the company and what you hope to
accomplish working there. Comment on their collections and how they have inspired your own
designs. Connect your skills with their needs and qualifications for the position.
3) following three core elements of vocal production need to be understood for anyone wishing to
become an effective speaker:

 Volume - to be heard.
 Clarity – to be understood.
 Variety – to add interest.

Volume: This is not a question of treating the voice like the volume control on the TV remote. Some
people have naturally soft voices and physically cannot bellow. Additionally, if the voice is raised too
much, tonal quality is lost. Instead of raising the voice, it should be ‘projected out’. Support the voice
with lots of breath – the further you want to project the voice out, the more breath you need. It also
needs to come from the diaphragm, not the throat. When talking to a group or meeting, it is
important not to aim your talk to the front row or just to the people nearest you. Instead, you need
to consciously project what you have to say to those furthest away. By developing a strong voice, as
opposed to a loud voice, you will be seen as someone positive.

Clarity : Some people tend to speak through clenched teeth and with little movement of their lips. It
is this inability to open mouths and failure to make speech sounds with precision that is the root
cause of inaudibility. The sound is locked into the mouth and not let out. To have good articulation
it is important to unclench the jaw, open the mouth and give full benefit to each sound you make,
paying particular attention to the ends of words. This will also help your audience as a certain
amount of lip-reading will be possible.

Variety : To make speech effective and interesting, certain techniques can be applied. However, it is
important not to sound false or as if you are giving a performance. Words convey meaning, but the
way that they are said reflects feelings and emotions. Vocal variety can be achieved by variations in:

Pace: This is the speed at which you talk. If speech is too fast, then listeners will not have time to
assimilate what is being said. It is also a good idea to vary the pace – quickening up at times and then
slowing down – because this will help to maintain interest.

Volume: By raising or lowering volume occasionally, you can create emphasis. If you drop your voice
to almost a whisper (as long as it is projected) for a sentence or two, it will make your audience
suddenly alert. Be careful not to overuse this technique, though, or it will lose its impact.

4) important distinction is made between two types of nouns, common nouns and proper nouns.
Common nouns are more general. A common noun refers to a class of person, place, thing, or
concept, but not to someone or something specific. Proper nouns are the names of specific people,
places, things, or concepts.Common vs. Proper nouns An important distinction is made between
two types of nouns, common nouns and proper nouns. Common nouns are more general. A
common noun refers to a class of person, place, thing, or concept, but not to someone or something
specific. Proper nouns are the names of specific people, places, things, or concepts. They are always
capitalized to distinguish them from common nouns.Another important distinction is between
countable and uncountable nouns: Countable nouns (also called count nouns) refer to things that
can be counted. They can be preceded by an indefinite article or a number, and they can be
pluralized. Most nouns are countable (e.g., “fact(s)” or “misnomer(s)“).

Uncountable nouns (also called noncount nouns or mass nouns) refer to things that can’t be
counted. They should never be preceded by an indefinite article or a number, and they cannot be
pluralized (e.g., “information” or “advice“).
A common mistake in English is treating uncountable nouns as if they were countable by pluralizing
them or using an indefinite article. The solution to these problems is usually to rephrase using a
related term or phrase that is countable.

Concrete vs. Abstract nouns: A distinction is often made between concrete nouns and abstract
nouns. Concrete nouns refer to physical objects, places, or individuals: things or people that can be
observed with the senses, such as “apple,” “hill,” “zebra,” and “Dorothy.”

Abstract nouns refer to concepts, ideas, feelings, and processes that can’t be physically located, such
as “grammar,” “justice,” “sadness,” and “relaxation.”

There’s no grammatical difference between concrete and abstract nouns—it’s just a distinction
that’s made to point out the different kinds of things nouns can refer to.
