Assignment 1
Assignment 1
An Individual Level
During the outbreak of COVID-19, I followed a set of preventive measures to reduce the
risk of getting infected. First, I got the COVID-19 vaccine and the flu shot as soon as it
was available. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including getting enough sleep, exercising
regularly, a balanced diet, outdoor activities, drinking enough fluids, avoiding alcohol,
and more. Besides physical health, it is also necessary to take care of mental health. Our
immune systems will be suppressed if we are under a lot of stress. I have practiced
mindfulness relaxation, spending time in nature, developing habits that I can do at home,
and spending time with family. I have discussed with my family about the preventive
measures I have decided to implement and have all family members agree and align with
the measures. I wear a surgical mask when going out; hand sanitizer and soap are always
in my bag. Avoid going to crowded places and stay home when feeling unwell or having
COVID-19 symptoms. Disinfect groceries and things brought home from outside.
Practice good hygiene, wash or sanitize hands when necessary, avoid touching eyes, nose
and mouth, make sure hands are clean before eating, and more.

The Toronto Public Health (TPH) launched eight mobile clinics in addition to six City
immunization clinics and 525 local pharmacies that provide COVID-19 vaccine back in
June in Northwest neighborhoods. The reason for adding eight mobile clinics was the low
vaccination rate in the neighborhoods. The hope was to increase the vaccination rate of
residents who live, work, and play in those areas. An Ontario health card is not required
for getting the vaccines, so anyone residing in Ontario can receive the vaccine even
without legal status. This policy encourages more people to come for vaccination. These
clinics are open seven days a week and remain open until late in the evening. More
locations and longer service hours made receiving vaccinations more convenient for the
residents. This strategy aimed at boosting the vaccination rate, the higher the vaccination,
the better protection for the city of Toronto and the province of Ontario. According to
Herd Immunity, protecting those who are vulnerable requires a high vaccination rate. The
vaccine helps humans to become harder to infect, and slows the infection rate.
