The Commission on Higher Education in close consultation with the National Inter-Agency Task
Force against CoVid19 has release the CMO no. 09 series of 2022 regarding the updated guidelines
in the prevention and mitigation of Covid19 infection in HEI’s while implementing the face to face
classes.
With this regard, we would like to remind everyone to still strictly comply with our University
minimum and health and safety protocols to protect you, our students, and other stakeholders of this
institution. Measures for this include;
 Proper respiratory etiquette.
1. Always bring a handkerchief/ tissue.
2. When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with the
handkerchief/tissue, or you can use your elbow.
3. When coughing or sneezing, distance yourself from the crowd.
4. Do not spit your phlegm anywhere.
5. Dispose the tissue in a trash bin and sanitize your hands.
 Proper hand hygiene. According to WHO, proper hand washing is the most effective way
to prevent the spread of infections. You can use soap and water on designated hand washing
areas. Also bring your own 70% alcohol or hand sanitizers.
 Wearing of face mask. At all times, well-fitted mask shall be worn properly, except for the
following instances:
1. Eating and drinking
2. Participating in team and individual sports where proper ventilation is maintained
3. Practicing outdoor activities where physical distancing can be maintained.
 Stay home when not feeling well. Students and staff who have covid symptoms should stay
at home and immediately report their condition to their immediate supervisor/ adviser. Most
common symptoms like fever (37.5 above), cough and colds should warrant staying at
home. Serious symptoms that includes, difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, chest
pain or feeling of pressure on the chest, loss of speech or movement should be referred
immediately to the nearest hospital.
 Screening at entry point. Individuals with temperature 37.5 and above even after 5 minutes
of resting will not be allowed to enter the school premise.
 Personal Hygiene kits. Staff and students are encourage to bring their own personal
hygiene kits that contain 70%alcohol, hand sanitizer, cleasing wipes/tissue, hand towel, hand
soap, and extra facemask.
 COVID-19 Vaccination. Continuously participate/ support the activities of national
government related to COVID-19 vaccination. As staff, we can also encourage and educated
our students on the benefits of vaccination.
 Hospital Confinement. In case of serious situation that needs hospital confinement; you can
contact/ coordinate with our University Clinic personnel for hospital assistance and medical
advice.
