Daily Reflection Internship
Daily Reflection Internship
As an intern, my first day was productive. It was simple for me to get along
with the Taska Koolkidz (Seri Intan) teachers because they all welcomed me
with open arms. Since I was a newcomer to the nursery, I introduced myself to
the workers. Teacher Mira will be in charge of me. They then provided me with
a breakdown of the management of the centre and the children.
B. ACTIVITY/TASK 1:
I was assigned the responsibility of taking charge when the kids arrived as my
first task. As there are numerous illnesses and viruses spreading among
children, I am required to pick up the children and check on their general
health, including their head, leg, hand, mouth and temperature.
C. ACTIVITY/TASK 2:
Since Parent's Teachers' Day was quickly approaching, the teachers were very
busy finishing up the students' progress books. Children were being evaluated
for their first term. Therefore, they give the kids leggos to play with in order to
keep them under control. I have a responsibility to watch out for and take care
of them.
D. ACTIVITY/TASK 3:
Once the toddlers are awake at three thirty in the afternoon, they are about to
prepare for the bath. I had to bathe each of the 40 toddlers in the playgroup.
Children will approach the teacher to remove their clothing and get a towel
before bathing. Some kids can open their clothing and place it in their bags on
their own.
G. FUTURE STRATEGIES:
From the teachers at that center, I had gained a lot of information today. I
believe I can learn everything and use it to my future. In addition, I believe I

could witness and absorb the creativity of the teachers since they produce
handicrafts and instructional materials with great ingenuity. I believe I may
gain knowledge from them and develop my creativity.
I awaited the arrival of the teachers so they could open the door. As a newbie,
I felt a little lonely. In addition, I feel wonderful and gave my all at work.
B. ACTIVITY/TASK 1:
I'm indicated to look after the young children when I get there. Then, once the
toddler arrives, I must ignore their pleading. I then have to let them sit down
so they can listen to the morning rhymes.
C. ACTIVITY/TASK 2:
D. ACTIVITY/TASK 3:
Successfully, I learned how to give milk to the children and the proper way to
make them sleep.
G. FUTURE STRATEGIES:
It was a good first day as an intern. I was greeted with open arms by all the
Taska Koolkidz (Seri Intan) teachers, which made it easy for me to get along

prepared colors for the children to paint the lanterns using their fingers.
Additionally, I guided the children in drawing rabbits. Prior to lunchtime, I
assisted in changing the children's clothes and diapers. During lunch, I
supported the teachers in food preparation and feeding those who required
assistance. After lunch, I participated in cleaning the eating area. Throughout
the day, I took care of the children during naptime, distributed snacks, changed
diapers, and assisted the teacher in managing the children.
B. ACTIVITY/TASK 1:
While assisting with the children's arrival, I encountered a situation where one
child refused to leave his mother's car and expressed reluctance to come to
the center. As his mother urged him to come out, he began crying and resisted.
To address this, I approached him, offered comfort, and gently convinced him
to join us. Through conversation and reassurance, I diverted his attention from
his concerns.
C. ACTIVITY/TASK 2:
Prior to lunchtime, I prompted the children to wash their hands. However, one
child started crying unexpectedly. I quickly attended to him, inquiring about
the reason for his distress. He explained that his friend had bitten his back
accidentally. I spoke to the child responsible for the incident, confirming that it
was accidental. I comforted the distressed child, reassuring him that his friend
had not intended harm.
D. ACTIVITY/TASK 3:
During naptime, I noticed one child crying. Upon approaching him, I realized he
was still asleep and potentially experiencing a nightmare. To provide comfort, I
reassured him and encouraged him to continue sleeping peacefully.
The lesson originally planned for tomorrow was moved to today due to the
upcoming Chinese New Year break. I collaborated with the teacher to prepare
materials and outline lantern patterns on paper. Guiding the children, I
facilitated their painting of lanterns using their fingers and helped them draw
rabbits. I also assisted in decorating the paper.
G. FUTURE STRATEGIES:
Notably, during breakfast and snack times, I observed a child in the little class displaying picky eating
habits, specifically a refusal to eat bread. To address this, I intend to devise strategies that encourage
the child to overcome their picky eating tendencies. My aim is to find creative ways to make
mealtime enjoyable and appealing for this child, fostering a positive eating experience.
Upon my arrival at the center, I extended greetings to both the principal and
teachers. Following this, I arranged my belongings in the classroom and joined
the teachers in looking after the children. As I engaged with the children who
had arrived, I also took the opportunity to prepare teaching materials for the
upcoming week. Notably, one of the teachers was absent today, so I stepped in
to assist in taking care of the middle class. During this time, I conducted a
lesson on Mandarin Language, focusing on teaching the children the terms
"Dad" and "Mom." Consequently, my original lesson plan had to be postponed.

After naptime, I aided the teachers in tidying the children's bedding, including
pillows and blankets. As I exited the classroom, I noticed a diaper on the floor. I
inquired about its owner and promptly requested the child responsible to pick
it up and dispose of it in the trash.
Given the absence of the teacher responsible for the middle class, I assisted in
that role. I conducted a Mandarin Language lesson, teaching the children how

C. ACTIVITY/TASK 2:
Lunchtime saw all the children gathered at the dining area, awaiting the
distribution of food by the teacher. As the children began eating, I assisted in
feeding them. During this time, I noticed that one boy's chin was becoming red
and developing red spots. I promptly informed the principal and took the child
to the restroom. Using water, I gently wiped his chin, which helped the redness
and spots fade.
D. ACTIVITY/TASK 3:
Similarly, during lunchtime, all the children gathered to receive their food. As
they started eating, one girl struggled to finish her meal. It appeared she was
placing the food in her mouth without chewing.
Regrettably, due to the rainy weather, I couldn't conduct the outdoor activity
lesson that I had originally planned. Instead, I assisted the teacher in
conducting a Mathematics lesson.
G. FUTURE STRATEGIES:
In the little class I assisted with, there's a boy who exhibits picky eating habits.
He appears to avoid bread and cake, but shows a preference for biscuits.
Moving forward, I'm determined to devise strategies to address and overcome
this selective eating behavior, fostering a healthier approach to meals.
Upon my arrival at the center, I greeted the principal and teachers. After
setting up my belongings in the classroom, I assisted the teachers in attending
to the children. While tending to the children who arrived, I also took the
opportunity to prepare teaching materials for the upcoming week.
Unfortunately, due to the rainy weather today, I had to adjust my planned
outdoor activity lesson. Instead, I was unable to carry out the intended lesson.
Engaging in the morning routine, I aided the children in washing their hands
and distributing their meals. Furthermore, I assisted with changing clothes and
diapers. Following breakfast, I supported the teacher in conducting a
Mathematics lesson for the children. During lunchtime, I helped in preparing
food and feeding children who required assistance. After lunch, I participated
in washing the bowls used by the children. I continued by supervising the
children during nap time. Upon their awakening, I facilitated snack distribution
and diaper changes. Before dismissal, I assisted the teacher in caring for the
children.
B. ACTIVITY/TASK 1:
While awaiting the arrival of all children at the center, I cared for those who
were already present. During this time, a child began to sneeze and his nose
started running. Noticing this, I promptly provided him with a tissue and
advised him to clean up.
C. ACTIVITY/TASK 2:
D. ACTIVITY/TASK 3:
After nap time, I assisted in changing the children's diapers. At this point, a boy
approached me and expressed a desire to wear a diaper as well. I explained to
him that he had outgrown the need for diapers.
Today, I regrettably could not proceed with the planned lesson due to the late
arrival of children in the little class. By the time they arrived, preparations for
breakfast were already underway, making it impractical to conduct the
lesson.T
and speaking made me genuinely pleased. I'm hopeful that this positive
development will continue.
G. FUTURE STRATEGIES:
In the little class I am assisting with, there is a boy who tends to be defiant,
shouting and ignoring teachers' requests to stop. Moving forward, I am
committed to finding effective strategies to manage and guide his behavior,
aiming to create a more conducive learning environment.
B. ACTIVITY/TASK 1:
During playtime with the provided toys, I observed one child throwing a toy on
the floor. I approached the child and kindly requested that he pick up the toy,
explaining the importance of treating toys carefully.
C. ACTIVITY/TASK 2:
D. ACTIVITY/TASK 3:
Given the limited number of children in attendance due to the ongoing Chinese
New Year celebrations, the principal opted to combine multiple classes into a
single classroom. As a result, my planned lesson for the day had to be
postponed due to the reduced number of children.
G. FUTURE STRATEGIES:
limited. I intend to apply these skills in my future roles, confident that they will
aid in my ongoing improvement as a childcare provider.
B. ACTIVITY/TASK 1:
After breakfast, the children settled in their classroom, sitting in their chairs. I
noticed water pooled on one of the tables. Quickly addressing the situation, I
inquired about the water source, to which the children explained that a child
had accidentally spilled water from his water bottle while playing. I asked the
child responsible to clean up the spill.
C. ACTIVITY/TASK 2:
D. ACTIVITY/TASK 3:
During naptime, a child started crying. Upon reaching him, I realized he was
still asleep and likely having a nightmare. I provided comfort to help him return
to a peaceful sleep.
Given that today was the final day before the Chinese New Year break, the
center organized a special program. I assisted the teacher by guiding the
children to line up at the bulletin board for a photo session. As a result of the
program, I was unable to execute the lesson I had initially planned for the day.
G. FUTURE STRATEGIES:
tradition by enjoying Yusheng, a festive dish. Throughout the day, I assisted the
teacher in guiding the children, from handwashing during breakfast to
distributing Chinese New Year biscuits.
B. ACTIVITY/TASK 1:
While helping with the children's drop-off, I encountered a child who hesitated
to leave his mother's car and attend the center. Despite his mother's efforts,
he began to cry and express his reluctance to come in. Swiftly, I approached
the child, offering comfort through a hug, and redirected his attention through
conversation.
C. ACTIVITY/TASK 2:
Before lunchtime, I instructed the children to wash their hands. Suddenly, one
child began to cry. Approaching him, I inquired about the reason for his
distress. He revealed that a friend had bitten his back accidentally. Upon
questioning the other child, it became evident that the bite was unintentional.
I consoled the upset child, reassuring him that it was an accident.\

Upon my arrival at the center, the principal was absent, necessitating our wait
for the teacher holding the key to open the entrance. Once the gate was
unlocked, I participated in the process of opening each classroom door. After
settling into the classroom, I joined the teachers in welcoming the children as
their parents dropped them off. However, until 9 am, the child from the class I
had intended to teach was absent, resulting in my inability to conduct the

G. FUTURE STRATEGIES:
Upon my arrival at the center, I exchanged greetings with both the principal
and the teachers. After organizing my belongings in the classroom, I assisted
the teachers in receiving children as their parents dropped them off. The
principal informed me that the teacher responsible for the big class was
absent. Consequently, I was asked to help supervise the children from 8:30 am
to 9:30 am. During this relief period, I conducted a lesson in Malay Language,
teaching them how to read "Suku Kata."
During breakfast, I guided the children in washing their hands and distributed
their meals. Once they finished eating, I assisted them in changing their
clothes. Due to an emergency involving the teacher for the small class, I was
requested to take over her duties. This resulted in me combining the small and
little classes in one room. We engaged in singing songs and I provided the
children with paper plates for coloring.
Before the children left for the day, I assisted the teacher in managing the class
and looked after the children until 5:00 pm, as the teacher responsible for the
extended hours was absent.
B. ACTIVITY/TASK 1:
Once all the children had arrived at the center, they entered their respective
classrooms and awaited the teachers. While they were waiting, one child
began playing with his water bottle on the table. Upon noticing this, I
intervened and requested him to cease playing with the water bottle. I
instructed him to place the water bottle back in its proper place.
C. ACTIVITY/TASK 2:
Following breakfast, the teacher responsible for the small class had urgent
matters to attend to, and I stepped in to care for the children in that class. I
provided the children with paper plates for coloring. While the children were
engaged in coloring, one child opted not to color and instead began playing
with the crayons. Observing this, I intervened and encouraged the child to
begin coloring. Luckily, the child complied with my request and proceeded to
color the paper plate.
D. ACTIVITY/TASK 3:
Following the nap period, I merged the small class with the big class due to the
absence of the teacher in charge of the big class. I instructed the children to
take chairs and sit down. Some of the children took the opportunity to utilize
recycled paper and draw on it. After a short while, I noticed that the paper was
scattered on the floor. I directed the children to pick up the paper and store it
in the bookcase.
Today, I faced the inability to carry out the lesson I had prepared. This was due
to the absence of one teacher, which led the principal to request my assistance
in managing the classroom. In the period designated for relief, I focused on
teaching the children Malay Language and guided them in reading "Suku Kata."
G. FUTURE STRATEGIES:
Within the large class, a small group of students are not behaving as desired
under the teachers' supervision. They tend to engage in playful activities
around the classroom and occasionally even get into arguments. Despite my
attempts to intervene and stop this behavior, they did not heed my
instructions. Consequently, I am motivated to develop strategies to establish
stricter discipline and better control over the children to ensure they follow
instructions.
Upon my arrival at the center, I exchanged greetings with both the principal
and the teachers. As the small class was hosting Parents' Day, I provided relief
for the teacher. Once all the children had arrived, I proceeded to conduct
lessons in both Mandarin and Mathematics. In the Mandarin session, I
introduced the children to nature-related vocabulary. I guided them in
identifying the words and attaching corresponding images. For Mathematics, I
focused on numbers one through ten. The children engaged in placing dot
stickers on paper according to the numbers. The children exhibited enthusiasm
and enjoyment throughout the lessons.
After concluding the lessons, I directed the children to form a line and wash
their hands. Additionally, I distributed meals to those children who hadn't
brought their own. I also assisted the full-day students in changing their

During breakfast, I directed all the children to form a line and wash their
hands. Subsequently, the children retrieved their meals, and I provided food to
those who hadn't brought their own. After distributing the meals, I noticed
that one girl was no longer present. Immediately, I searched throughout the
center to locate her. Eventually, I found her in the restroom, where she had

cause, I proceeded to advise her against hitting her friends and explained the
potential consequences of such actions.
Today, I provided assistance by taking over the small class during the morning

creating elephant paper plates, I heard a noise that caught my attention. Upon
investigating, I observed a boy who had pushed his friend's water bottle onto
the table, causing it to spill. I questioned the boy regarding his actions, and he
explained that he was acting out of playfulness. I proceeded to explain to him
that such behavior wasn't appropriate and that pushing the water bottle could
lead to spillage. He eventually recognized his mistake, apologized to his friend,
and understood the consequences of his actions.
D. ACTIVITY/TASK 3:
While it was lunchtime, the children formed a queue to collect their meals.
Unexpectedly, one child accidentally dropped their food onto the floor. I
swiftly approached to assess the situation and inquired about the cause. It
came to light that another child had run into the first child, causing the food
spillage. I instructed the child who had bumped into the other to help clean up
the spilled food and to apologize to their peer.
G. FUTURE STRATEGIES:
Within the small class, there is a boy who struggles to maintain his attention on
a single task for an extended period. He displays a limited ability to
concentrate on activities. As a result, I aim to discover strategies that can assist
this boy in improving his ability to focus on tasks for a more extended period.
It was a good first day as an intern. I was greeted with open arms by all the

As we awaited the arrival of the remaining children at the center, those who
had already arrived settled into their respective classrooms. Unexpectedly, one
child carried her chair and positioned it outside the classroom. I inquired about
her decision to sit outside, and she shared that she felt friendless as her peers
didn't want to be her friends. I reassured her that by sitting inside the
classroom and engaging with her classmates, she could cultivate friendships. I
explained that sitting outside would hinder her from playing with her peers
and forming connections with them.

Once the lunch period concluded, all the children were required to clean their
mouths and then settle onto their individual beds for naptime. As the children
positioned themselves on their beds, I assisted in supervising them until they
fell asleep. During this period, a few children engaged in conversations with
their peers and showed reluctance to sleep. I promptly approached these
children and encouraged them to lie down. I remained by their side until they
were able to fall asleep.
D. ACTIVITY/TASK 3:
Once all the children had awoken, I collaborated with the teachers to tidy up
their sleeping areas and put away the blankets. During snack time, I assisted in
distributing the food and providing it to the children. After the children had
completed their meals, I observed that one child's hair was unkempt.
Consequently, I summoned the child and provided assistance in brushing her
hair.
Today, I conducted a lesson for the small class on facial features. I presented
them with a sheet depicting a blank face. This piqued their curiosity, leading
them to ask why the face lacked eyes, nose, and mouth. I directed the children
to utilize playdough to mold the various parts of the face. The children
displayed great enthusiasm and found the lesson enjoyable.
Today, the regular teacher for the 4-year-old class was absent, and I took on
the responsibility of managing the class for the day. Throughout the day, I
employed various techniques learned from fellow teachers to manage and

engage the children. For instance, I guided them through counting how many
students were present and who wished to take a shower. Following that, I
instructed them to retrieve their towels and compare their numbers with what
I had. This approach not only fostered their counting abilities but also
encouraged greater independence among the children.
G. FUTURE STRATEGIES:
I believe I can devise activities that will aid in enhancing the children's writing
capabilities. This is prompted by my observation that the children haven't fully
developed their writing skills. As a result, I intend to organize additional
activities involving writing or coloring to address this need.

their snacks. Unexpectedly, a girl approached me and expressed the need to
use the restroom for a bowel movement. I instructed her to proceed to the
restroom, and after she was done, I assisted her with cleaning up.
Today, I couldn't carry out the lesson I had initially planned due to unforeseen
circumstances. This change occurred because the teacher responsible for the
small class was absent, and I was requested by the principal to assist in
supervising the children. During this substitution period, I provided the
children with blocks and engaged them in singing songs together.
G. FUTURE STRATEGIES:
Within the small class I assisted with, there is a boy who displays resistance to
attending school. Every day, upon arrival, he remains in his mother's car and
expresses his unwillingness to enter the school premises. Moving forward, I
aim to discover strategies to encourage this child's enthusiasm for attending
school.

It was a good first day as an intern. I was greeted with open arms by all the
Taska Koolkidz (Seri Intan) teachers, which made it easy for me to get along
with them. Introduce yourself to the crew, my supervisor (Teacher Mira)
instructed. After that, they gave me a breakdown of how the centre and
toddlers are managed.
B. ACTIVITY/TASK 1:
Today, I assisted the teacher during an art session with the children. My tasks
included applying masking tape onto the drawing paper and providing
guidance to the children as they used watercolors to color on the paper. Lastly,
I assisted in removing the masking tape under the teacher's supervision.
C. ACTIVITY/TASK 2:
During breakfast, the children collected their meals and waited inside the
classroom. They were advised to wait until the teacher permitted them to start

eating. However, one of the children didn't follow the instructions and began
eating early. I approached the child and reminded them to wait for the
teacher's directions before beginning their meal.
D. ACTIVITY/TASK 3:
Following the nap period, the children proceeded to use the restroom and
awaited the teacher's guidance. Unexpectedly, a girl approached me and
informed me about a pool of water on the floor. Without delay, I investigated
the situation and confirmed that a boy's diaper was leaking. I promptly assisted
him in changing to a fresh diaper and proceeded to clean the floor using a
mop.
Today, I hadn't initially scheduled any lessons, as per the principal's request to
provide immediate assistance to the teacher in instructing and aiding the
children. Nevertheless, I supported the teachers by conducting a session on
Mandarin Language. During this session, I taught the children about Mandarin
strokes.
