At power up the display shows the data which may be normally useful during the prodution phase, that is:
weight of the last memorised bag expressed in tenths of grams (for ex. 50.5 kg M_> 5050)
The lower display shows the various signals and error messages coming from the following components:
bagging machine electronic devices: Magic-Box node, communication network nodes,
,.,.. Pic or Pic node.

Every time the production is to be modified due to material quality or to bag type, it is necessary to change the
receipt number.
The operator has the possibiilty to select one of the 24 available receipts, and to send it to the Ventodigit
electronic balances. If, for example, you wish to activate a receipt whose weight selection is different from the
presently operating one (from receipt 1 at 50 kg to receipt 2 at 25 kg, for example), it is necessary to operate as
follows:
stop the bag inserting unit and then stop the rotation of the bagging machine
press keys or [......) to select the number of the new receipt you wish to activate
When modifying the receipt number, the information relating to the weight selection associated to the receipt will
be automatically modified too, so to help the operator to select the correct receipt.

In order to verify that correct funcitoning of all the interlockings relating to a bagging machine, it is often
necessary to carry out a complete filling cycle of that mouth, without the machine being in rotation . Operate as
follows:

Following such command, the filling cycle of the bag stops and the mouth waits for the ejection signal,in order to
carry out the normal evacuation operation. Such command is very useful to free the weighing electronic devices
from any faulty bags, for example, or to end a production session, by sending the command to all the weighing
electronic devices, after having first disabled the bag inserting unit.
In the event the relevant electronic device shows an alarm status, such command causes the reset of its
software, after the bag has been evacuated.

Such command may be activated, for example, to complete the manual cycle of a single mouth.

The aim of this operation is to try to remove any obstruction left in the nozzle or in the turbine body, which may
prevent the bag from being correctly filled. Such 0 eration should be carried out every time amouth shows at
frequent intervals the message."failure to fill at second attempt':'-the display of the relevant Ventodigit will show
Err. bl), or the message "max. filling time exceeded" (the display of the relevant Ventodigit will blink), with the
turbine being anyway correctly started.
Various tests have shown that it is necessary to carry out the unlocking operation more than once in order to
completely remove the obstructions.

During the fast discharge cycle the guillotines placed behind each turbine body open, and the turbines of each
mouth start in sequence for a time interval that may be programmed on the pushbutton panel; this allows to
discharge all the residual material left inside the bagging machine or ins ide the hoppers placed above.
In order to exploit the SCR function at best, before its activation strictly follow the instructions mentioned
hereunder; : ,.
stop inserting the bags (turn off the bag inserting unit, if available)
evacuate all the bags left on the bagging machine
if you wish to discharge the bagging machine only, disable the product feeder, by pressing the relevant key;
on the contrary, if you wish to discharge both the bagging machine and the hopper placed above, keep the
machine rotating and start the product feeder.
(before enabling the fast discharge function, be ensured that the mouth discharge time is correcty set, i.e. the
time during which the turbine of each mouth is actuated; such value may vary from 1 up to 99 seconds).

by pressing IM3l

message:.
after 1 second the message will change, constantly visualising the number of the mouth whose turbine is
presently operating (marked as X in the following example):
by pressing key IM4l the SCR cycle stops, after the mouth discharge under process is
~ completed, therefore the message shown will change accordingly:
15
ver 9 ing 14 © ventomatic 1999
after 1 second the message will change, visualising the end of the cycle and the total number of the mouths.
It is possible to check the SCR cycle by monitoring the weighing devices displays, which shall all show the
message PAUSE, but that of the weighing device whose turbine is presently operating; such display shall show
the message SCR.
At the end of the cycle the weighing electronic devices shall display once again the weight placed on the seat.
The following diagram shows in detail the phases of the fast discharge cycle together with their sequence:

The pushbutton panel allows to program the operating parameters of all the Ventodigits and of the Ventocheck (if
available), and to modify the encoder positions. This means that a wrong or inadvertent programming of such
values may reduce the performance and the efficiency of the whole system.
Therefore a programming locking system was created, that can only be removed by means of a
password to be entered by authorized personnel only.
Without entering such password, the operator is not allowed to modify the receipts database as well as
the encoder programming, and every time keys SHIFT + ENTER are pressed, the lower display shows
the following message:

rotate the bagging machine until mouth 1 is positioned in the centre of the evacuation belt, so that the sigp

press key [ >~~) to set to zero the relative position of the encoder
The aim is to fix the relative zero of the encoder when mouth_1 is placed exactly in the middle of the evacuation
belt. Therefore the relative zero of the encoder (which corresponds to the encoder value the system uses to
constantly know the position of mouth t "C..during rotation) is associated to an e.asi~y recognisable physical position.
We suggest you to make two si~s on the bagging machine (one on the rotating part and one on the fixe';.d ,gart),
in order to have a clear reference and position mouth 1 always in the same point when it is necessary to
inizialise the relative zero.

start up), by noting the value the encoder sends in correspondence to the drive and control positions necessary
for the bagging machine operation. Note the value of such positions for mouth 1 only (reference positions); the
position values of the remaining mouths will be calculated by the software.

This phase is crucial in order to adapt the encoder management system to the actual situation, by entering the
values of the various positions relating to mouth 1 (which were noted during the previous phase). The software
will automatically calculate the position values of the remaining mouths, so that when reading the relative value
of the encoder during rotation, the software will be able to determine if a mouth is passing through one of the
memorised positions, and in this event it will send to the mouth the corresponding command (for example, if
mouth 2 is passing through the evacuation position, the software will send to it the evacuation command).
The following operations shall be carried out every time you wish to read, enter or modify one
of the positions which are necessary to operate the bagging machine I applicator system.
