What is liaison?

Liaison is the linking of sounds or words. It


makes you sound more fluent and natural.

Example: So, when should we

Three Types of Liaisons

1. Consonant + Vowel

Tip 1

When the first word ends
with a consonant and the
second word begins with
/ǝ’næpl/ /ɪ’neɪprǝl/ /ǝ’ti:stǝ/
a vowel, you can link
them together.

them together with /j/.

Attention!
Not every word can be linked with another word even if they are in
line with the rules! Only when the words belong to the same sense
group can they be read with liaison.
