SCENARIO #1
Last March 1, 2023, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. urged drivers to cancel the strike but stressed the
need to implement the modernization program in a “different way.” It was the first time he shared his
sentiments after winning the elections. During his campaign, Marcos said the DOTR should modernize
PUVs by inspecting the vehicles’ condition and not simply basing it on age.
Exercise Questions:
1. Based on President Marcos’s given statement, do you agree with his decision? Why or why
not? Explain your answer.
- No, why? because we shouldn’t just look at whether a jeep is good or if it’s broken and we're
going to stop it from driving because, what about the vehicles that are not in good condition
that should be stopped? That’s unfair, as long as a vehicle is running and making use of it
should still be allowed to drive/or to use it.
2. If you were the president today in the Philippines, what are your alternatives ways to make our
transportation more convenient and less harmful to our environment?
- If I am the President today, I prefer that public should take public transportation rather than
having their own vehicle for transportation. This will less pollution and traffic, and also it
prevent accident and crimes.
3. As a student, what are your opinions about the modernization plan of our government for all
public utility vehicles?
-As a student who always use jeepney as my main transportation to go to school ,I am agree to
the modernization plan of our government for all public utility vehicle. in a reason that, we are
always open for the development ,we are progressing. But, i want a better plan for the jeepney
drivers who are affected by this progress. A right progress should not left no one in difficulties.
4. What type of decision-maker is President Marcos?
- Visionary because focus of long term result.

SCENARIO #2

Mr. Advani is a young sales manager in a popular Mumbai-Swan Textile Mills Ltd textile mill. The company
sells directly to retailers all over India. Recently, Advani faced tough sales objections from southern retailers.
The complaint is that we can ‘get the same patterns and fabrics cheaper from Swarna Textile Mills Ltd,
Mumbai.

Advani found the truth in their statement. Swarna Company copied systematically and even printed a
trademark ‘Roshini’ (similar to the brand ‘Rohini’ of Swarna Company at the edge of each yard of the fabric.
They supplied their clothes at one-third the price.
As sales started slipping, he thought of a strategy to prove the quality of Swan products. Advani devised a
simple demonstration to prove the qualitative difference between the two products. He took fabric samples
from both fabrics, demonstrated the differences, and explained the reasons. He asked the retailers to find
out the customers’ views after 2-3 washings of the Roshini Brand. Within a month after this demonstration,
the irate homemakers in the south flooded retail shops, complaining that the cheap Roshini fabric lost its
luster and started falling apart after 2 or 3 washings. They started demanding ‘Rohini’ and no ‘Roshini’ brand
fabrics. Sales of Rohini shot up in a few weeks.

Exercise Questions:
1. If you had been in Advani’s place, would you welcome or fear this objection? Why?
- Yes, i welcome ,because why should i be afraid if what i am selling is real and there is no fraud.
2. What type of decision-maker is Mr. Advani?
- Guardian, because above all guardians deeply identify with the ideal of service.
3. What advice will you give to Roshini brand fabrics?

- My advice is that we should not imitate, copy, or even take an idea just to make our product rise.
