Understanding:
1. How critical is it to be a crew of a submarine as shared in the first stanza?
2. What is meant by chasing after secrets and the darkness of the ocean ?
3. Can a life jacket save life when a submarine has been hit by anything in the water?
4. How can the persona slice the earth in half along the dotted line? Which is
referred to as the dotted line?
5. Why was he trying to slice the equator?
6. Who probably is this someone?
7. What could happen when he sliced the earth?
1. The opening line of the poem "Inside Submarines" describes the crew member's individual
experiences. Its phases include descriptions of the challenges faced by the crew of a submarine.
2. The expression "chasing after secrets and the darkness of the ocean" refers to an exciting journey
and the exploration of the deep ocean.
3. An individual's life may be saved by a life jacket, but the submarine cannot be saved. The
primary purpose of life jackets is to save lives when they are in danger on any body of water.
4. The equator, which appears as a dotted line on a map, is what the persona means when they say,
"Persona slice the earth in half along the dotted line." Those that travel and learn about new
things throughout the world might benefit greatly from having a map.
5. The persona thinking about slicing the equator is for them to take a voyage and used the slice in
the equator as their guide. As they are taking the trip they have a way and pattern to follow.
6. One of his crewmates or his own awareness may be the "someone" to whom the poems allude.
Having someone to support and assist you on a journey or adventure is essential, as is being in a
calm frame of mind while making decisions.
7. Earth-slicing may result in a complete catastrophe for everyone. There could be a different
starting from that conclusion, similar to how science has explained how the Earth came to be.
The poem also expresses what would occur if we didn't make a wise choice; thus, we should
constantly be conscious of the potential outcomes of our actions.

Valuing:
1. Imagine that he sliced earth. Does the ‘someone’ give a sound reminder?

Elements of Poetry:
1. Pick out the figurative language used in the poem. Tell how each adds beauty to the poem.

Valuing
1. The "someone" serves as a helpful reminder of the persona. This person is aware of the potential
consequences of the persona's choice. That someone may be a wise consciousness or a kind
friend.

Elements of Poetry
1. Throughout the poem, reference, imagery, and metaphor are only a few examples of the
figurative languages employed. For the purposes of the metaphor, "someone" refers to a person
that you can have in the times of challenges. By doing this, you may emphasize values and make
the poetry more fascinating. In terms of visual, "putting the life jackets on" represents the crew
of a submarine and illustrates how risky operating in the deep water may be. Due of its potential
to depict events in the poetry, its use could capture readers' attention. The poem is better able to
represent the duties of a submarine crew since the equator, which is an allusion, is a genuine line
on the map that can be seen. The crew utilizes maps to find their way around the submarine.

On A Personal Note
Write a short weblog (personal opinion, activities, experiences, etc.) on the topic of the
poem.

The poem "Inside the submarine" by Vietnamese poet Phan Nhien Hao is a great
representation of the ocean journey. Reading this poetry will be helpful for everyone who
wants to take an ocean voyage. Knowing the fact that I myself experience few trips and water
activities, I used to think of going further and deeper in the ocean. I do want to explore the
deepest ocean, as I have read and seen on television. Despite the fact that the ocean is home to
many amazing creatures, it is still dangerous as it’s a home of different prey’s and predators,
therefore if you want to explore the water, you must have the necessary knowledge and
abilities. This poem has a wonderful message for everyone about making wise choices and
consistently learning about the environment so that we may come to know that the world is a
home of million species.
