Summary Writing Steps:

Summary has NO TITLE.

1. Read and understand the question.

2. Skim read the text and underline the
points that answer the question.

3. Link similar ideas together and

rewrite the points using your own words.

4. Rank your points in importance (ie:

which point should come first, second,
third etc) and think of what linking words
you are going to use.

5. Write a topic sentence to introduce

your summary by rephrasing the
question.
