 What is it asking?

 What is it really asking?

2. Identify keywords

 Words that tell you what to discuss in your essay

 Do this by writing it out in the middle of a landscape

3. Identify Direction Words

 Words that tell you what sort of answer to give

 Eg: discuss to what extent, show how, how, do you agree, compare, contrast etc
4. Brainstorm

 Look at those content words and expand on them

5. Organise ideas

 What ideas are dominating your page?
