MASS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

INTRODUCTION:
Good morning, Brothers and Sisters of Christ.
We are gathered together today for our Mass of the Holy Spirit to officially open our
academic year 2023-2024
  The celebration of the Holy Eucharist is offered as a thanks giving offering to welcome
the day and the people. Like a family celebrating the gift of life and endowed also to a prayer for
a grace-filled year. As we celebrate this Holy Eucharist, let us ask the Holy Spirit to be our guide
and source of strength in doing our role of building God’s kingdom here in our community.
Our Mass presider is Rev.______________, .Please rise as we joyfully join the choir
singing the entrance song.

P r i e s t : In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
A l l : Amen

P r i e s t : The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the
HolySpirit be with you all

A l l :  And with your spirit.

PENITENTIAL RITE
P r i e s t : Dear brothers and sisters of Christ, this water will be used to remind us of our
baptism. Let us thank God to bless it, and to keep to the Spirit He has given us.

(After brief silence, he joined his hands and continues)

God, Our Father, your gift of water brings life and freshness to the earth; it washes away our sins
and brings us to eternal life. We ask you now to bless + this water, and to give us your protection
on this day which you have made your presence and receive your gift of salvation. We ask
this through Christ our Lord.

(Taking the sprinkler, the presider sprinkles himself and the choir will sing the appropriate song
may be sung) When he return to his place and the song is finished, the presider faces t 
he people and with joined hand say…)
P r i e s t : May almighty God cleanse us of our sins, and through the Eucharist we celebrate
make us worthy to sit at his table in His heavenly kingdom.

God of power and mercy, send your Holy Spirit to live in our hearts and make us temples of his
glory. We ask this through our
Lord Jesus Christ, your son who lives and reigns with you and the HolySpirit, one God, for ever
and ever.

LITURGY OF THE WORD

FIRST READING:(Ezekiel 36: 25 - 28) 

A Reading from the book of the prophet Ezekiel 

I will sprinkle clean water upon you to cleanse you from all your impurities, and from all your
idols I will cleanse you. I will give you a new heart and place a new spirit within you, taking
from your bodies your stony hearts and giving you natural hearts. I will put my spirit within you
and make you live by my statutes, careful to observe my decrees. You shall live in the land I gave
your fathers: you shall be my people, and I will be your God.
