The Rizal Law, commonly known as RA 1425, is a set of regulations enacted to promote
public awareness of the life, works, and writings of Dr. Jose Rizal, our nation's national hero,
particularly his books Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo. This will provide students and future
generations with a thorough history and help them comprehend Jose Rizal's selfless sacrifice of
his life for our nation.
The President signed the Republic Act on June 12, 1956. Senator Claro M. Recto is the
one who came up with the Rizal Bill. The bill was introduced in the Senate by Senator Jose P.
Laurel, Sr., who was at the time the Chairman of the Committee on Education. This letter was
undoubtedly drafted during a time when nationalism and patriotism were prevalent. a time when
individuals were motivated by the creators of this act's proposal. In order to free our nation from
foreign control and stand up for our own interests, this nationalism served as the inspiration for
the republic act exactly the goals and values that Rizal strived to defend. To appreciate the
significance of Rizal's principles and teachings in light of the social trends and issues of the day.
To promote the use of these ideas in solving current society and personal difficulties and
