Morningstar’s Instant X-Ray is an extremely-useful tool. Just enter the assets of a portfolio and their actual
proportions, and obtain as a result a detailed description of the portfolio.

An extremely-useful tool. Just enter the relevant asset classes (or products) and their actual or target
proportions, and obtain as a result a thorough description of the portfolio’s historical performance.
The two links below take you to the US sites of BlackRock ETFs (iShares) and Vanguard ETFs. Being the
two largest asset managers, given any fund you may be considering from other asset managers, it may be
useful to see what related products Blackrock and Vanguard have to offer, just for the sake of comparison.
Morningstar is simply a superb site. It provides reliable and standardized information on thousands of
funds and also features excellent articles written by their top-notch staff. Regarding factual information
for security selection, you may want to focus on the tools to screen funds (Basic Fund Screener) and ETFs
(ETF Screener).
Yahoo Finance is another useful and popular site for general financial information. It has two screeners,
one for mutual funds and one for ETFs. Although the information on these screeners is not as
comprehensive as that in Morningstar, it does have one useful feature that Morningstar lacks: it provides
you with historical price data on the funds and ETFs it covers (in the ‘Historical Data’ tab).
Needless to say, there are many other screeners online; the two below are just two of those many.

All of the sites below are relatively new and do not have a long track record to evaluate them properly.
