that in the City of Istanbul
groundwater recharge occurs
with monthly rainfall in
January - April. Then, as the
monthly rainfall decreased in
May-October, the
evapotranspiration rate
increased drastically, exceeding
1000 mm, causing massive
water shortages. Rainfall starts
to increase again in September
- December which causes water
availability to be resolved and it
starts to return to balance.
