    We can bisect an angle, or divide it into two equal parts, by using only a compass. We place the compass point at the vertex of the angle and draw arcs across each side of the angle. Then we draw arcs from the intersection points across the other side, and connect the vertex to where those arcs cross to divide the angle in half.

    We can bisect an angle using only compasses.

    Put the point of the compass at O and draw arcs that crosses both lines that constitute the angle.

    From each point where an arcs just drawn cross a line construct other arcs to cross as shown.

    Now draw a line from O to where the two arcs just drawn cross.

    The line just drawn bisects the angle.
