In Ixtenco, Mexico, a car drove up to a destroyed village, and Maria Hill and Nick Fury got
out.

"Shit, what happened here?" Sam asked.

Peter shifted uncomfortably. "Do you think that it's aliens again?"

Everyone's eyes widened.

Rhodey groaned. "I thought we were done with this shit."

"Nick, this was a tragedy, but it's not why we're here. What, are we fighting the weather
now?" Hill said.

Everyone froze.

"Wait, what?" said Rhodey. "Fighting the weather?"

"The weather?" said Bucky. "So, it's just a natural disaster."

"Thank god," Peter sighed in relief, and then a panicked look crossed his face. "Not that a natural
disaster is a good thing!"

"We get it, kid," said Rhodey. "You're just happy that it isn't some weird shit."

"Locals say the cyclone had a face," Fury replied.

"A face?" everyone exclaimed, astonished.

Rhodey groaned. "Never mind, I take that back. This is some weird shit."

Hill was saying that people say things when they're under stress, and it isn't the start of a
new world threat when a green cloud of smoke appeared in front of them. Fury and Hill
pulled out their guns, looking towards a strangely dressed man wearing a fishbowl.

"Who the hell is this guy?" said Clint. "Why does he have a fishbowl on his head?"

Tony froze. "I know him."

"What?" everyone said.

Tony nodded. "His name is Quentin Beck. He used to work for Stark Industries, but he was
unstable, so I fired him." He turned to Peter and said, "If you ever see this man, don't talk to him."

Peter nodded with wide eyes.

Beck asked Hill and Fury who they were, and then the Earth Elemental came out from the
ground.
Everyone's jaws dropped at the sight of the Earth Elemental.

"What the fuck?" yelled Clint.

"What the hell is that?" cried Wanda.

"You don't want any part of this," Beck said before shooting green blasts from his hands.

Tony blinked in surprise. "He did not have that when I last saw him."

"When did you last see him?" Steve asked. "We should know if we have another enhanced."

"Two years ago."

Sam and Rhodey groaned. "I'm so over this," Sam muttered.

Bucky raised an eyebrow at the sight of Beck shooting green blasts from his hands and asked
Strange, "Isn't that similar to your sorcerer thing?"

Strange looked at Beck closely and then shook his head. "No. That's nothing like what we do."

"Great, so now we have an unstable man shooting green energy from his hands," Tony said, so
done with everything.

'I Will Always Love You' played as a poorly edited video was shown in tribute of the fallen
Avengers - Tony Stark.

Everyone stiffened at the reminder of Tony's death while Tony was slightly pale.

Steve Rogers.

"Wait, what?" said Steve, bewildered. "I'm not dead."

"Well, we can't exactly tell the public that you went back in time, and now you're an old man, can
we?" said Natasha.

"There's no way we would even tell anyone outside the Avengers and Guardians about time
travel," Bruce pointed out. "Can you imagine how dangerous that would be?"

A note appeared that read A month after everyone came back, Steve died peacefully in his
sleep. The public was told that he died due to injuries sustained from the fight with Thanos,
although there were a lot of conspiracy theories.

The room was silent.

"Oh," Steve said. He didn't know what to say. Bucky and Sam were pale.

Another note appeared that read After Steve came back, Bruce destroyed the Quantum Tunnel
and all his notes and data, and Pepper wiped all the data about time travel from FRIDAY's
servers.

Everyone sighed. "Thank god," said Bruce.

"At least, we don’t have to worry about people time travelling now," said Clint.
Natasha Romanoff and Vision were also shown.

Everyone winced as Natasha turned a little grey. Wanda's heart jumped into her throat at seeing a
picture of Vision and Natasha in a tribute video.

There was another picture of Tony. It shifted to show Midtown School's news show with
Betty Brant and Jason Ionello.

"Oh, this is why the video was so shitty," Tony said wryly.

"Jason! Betty!" cried Peter happily. "They didn't blip!"

"Gone. But not forgotten ," said Betty. Jason thanked Kenneth Lim and Vihaan
Ramamurthy for their help with that touching video tribute. Betty tried to say, " This year
has been nothing short of–" while Jason interrupted and said, "Shit was crazy. It's like
insane."

Everyone snorted.

"That's one way to put it," said Clint.

Jason and Betty argued about Jason's swearing as Jason said, "Yeah, it's like the last day of
school, we're good."

Tony clapped Peter on the back. "Summer vacation! That'll be fun."

Betty ignored what Jason said and continued, " Over five years ago, half of all life in the
universe, including our own Midtown High, was wiped from existence." A video was shown
of Midtown students being dusted in the gym.

Everyone winced.

"Everyone must've been so scared," said Wanda. "They would've had no idea what was
happening."

"But then, eight months ago, a band of brave heroes brought us back." The same gym was
shown, but this time the blipped were brought back to the same place.

Sam raised an eyebrow. "That's so freaky."

"They called it the Blip."

"The Blip?" everyone said incredulously.

"The most devastating period in history is called the Blip?" said Rhodey. "Who decided to name it
this?"

"Those of us who blipped away came back the same age. But our classmates that didn't blip
grew five years older." Brad Davis was shown growing five years older.

Peter's jaw dropped. "That's Brad?" he said incredulously.

"You know him?" Tony asked.

Peter nodded. "He's like twelve, right now."

Sam and Bucky couldn't help but snort.

"Yeah, like my little brother is now older than me," Jason pointed out.

"Oh man, I didn't even think about that," said Clint. "That would be so weird."

Betty was annoyed as she said, "Yeah, it's math. And even though we had slipped away
halfway through the school year and had already taken midterms, the school made us start
the whole year over from the beginning." Jason said that it was totally unfair and not right.

Peter groaned and threw his hands in the air. "Are you kidding me? That's so unfair," he grumbled.
"I studied so hard for midterms, and now I have to do junior year again. And junior year is the
worst."

Everyone gave him pitying looks.

"I do not miss high school," muttered Sam.

"Tigers, it's been a long, dramatic, somewhat confusing road. As we draw this year to a close,
it's time to move on to a new phase of our lives," Betty said. "Pray nothing crazy happens
again because are the Avengers even a thing anymore? Does anyone even have a plan?!"
Jason panicked.

Everyone winced.

"Are the Avengers even a thing anymore?" asked Bruce.

"Nat, Vision, Tony, and Steve are, uh, gone," Sam winced. "Thor, Carol, Rocket, and Nebula are
off-world, and Rocket and Nebula left the Avengers anyway."

"I'm retired," Clint said firmly. "For sure this time."

"Yeah, I'm probably with my family too," said Scott.

"Strange is off doing his magic stuff," pointed out Sam. Strange rolled his eyes. "And Bruce's
arm…" Sam trailed off. Bruce grimaced.

"So, it's just Peter, Sam, Wanda, Bucky, and me?" asked Rhodey. "That's depressing."

"I'm not an Avenger," said Bucky.

Steve scoffed. "Of course, you are. You fought against Thanos."

"Peter is a junior Avenger," Tony pointed out. Peter pouted.

In a classroom filled with Iron Man art, Peter sat down next to Ned.

Tony smirked. "Midtown has very nice artwork."

Everyone rolled their eyes.

"I have a plan," Peter said enthusiastically. "Okay, first, I sit next to MJ on the flight."
Everyone sent Peter amused looks, while Peter turned a very funny shade of pink.

"MJ, huh," Tony said with a smirk. "Is this the same MJ I asked if you liked just last week?"

"…No?"

"Kid, you went on and on about how pretty her eyes were," Tony rolled his eyes.

"She has beautiful eyes," Peter defended, and then realized what he said and turned red.

Everyone snickered.

"Second, I’m gonna buy a dual headphone adapter and watch movies with her the whole
time."

"That's cute," Natasha teased. Peter groaned and wished for the ground to swallow him whole.

"Okay." "Three, when we go to Venice, Venice is super famous for making stuff out of glass,
right?" "True." Peter then said that he would buy MJ a Black Dahlia necklace because of
the murder.

"Ooh, a necklace," Sam grinned.

Then step four, when they go to the Eiffel Tower, Peter would give her the necklace.

"Eiffel Tower," Bucky smirked. "Very romantic."

Peter buried his face in his hands as everyone was laughing at him.

"Stop it," Wanda said with a grin. "It's sweet."

Ned made an impressed sound. Peter continued to say that step five is telling her how he
feels, and six is hopefully MJ telling him she feels the same way.

"That's a great plan, kid," Tony said with a smile. "She'll say yes."

Peter lifted his face from his hands. "Do you really think so?" Peter said with a hopeful face.

"I thought you didn't like MJ?"

Peter groaned and put his head back in his hands again.

Ned told Peter not to forget step seven. Peter wondered what was step seven as Ned told him
not to do any of that.

Everyone chuckled.

"You have a great friend, kid," said Clint.

Peter looked confused as he asked why. Ned answered that they were going to be bachelors in
Europe.

"Too bad Pete wants to kiss MJ too much for that plan," Tony smirked.

A note appeared that read New Asgard was one of the places the group was going to visit, but
the teachers removed New Asgard from the itinerary.

Thor perked up. "You can come to New Asgard anytime! You're always welcome!"

Peter looked a little awed.

Peter protested as Ned interrupted and said that he may not know much, but he does know
that Europeans love Americans.

Natasha and Wanda snorted.

"Why did you laugh?" Tony asked Wanda, "Your boyfriend is American." He pointed to Vision.

"He has a British accent."

"So? He was born in New York."

Vision looked at them, amused.

Peter made a face and said, "Really?" Ned said that over half of them are women. Peter said,
"Okay, sure, but...I really like MJ, man."

Tony had a wide grin on his face as Peter turned red, and everyone else snickered.

"At least your on-screen self has finally admitted it."

"Okay, fine! I do like MJ!"

Everyone laughed louder, and Peter's face turned redder. This was so embarrassing.

"Okay? She’s awesome, she’s funny in a sort of dork way, and sometimes I catch her looking
at me, and I like I've feel stood up way too…." Peter noticed MJ coming, "Wait. Dude, she's
coming now. Just don't say anything."

Everyone chuckled.

MJ walked over to Peter and Ned and said, "What up, dorks? Excited about the science
trip?"

"Ooh, she's very pretty," said Wanda and gave Peter a thumbs up.

Everyone dissolved into giggles.

Peter nervously greeted her and said that they were just talking about the trip. Ned said that
they were also talking about Peter's plan. MJ asked, "You have a plan?" Peter nervously
denied that he didn't have a plan. Ned said that Peter was just going to collect tiny spoons
while travelling to other countries and then winked at him.

Tony snorted.

MJ was confused and asked, "Like a grandmother?"

"Exactly like a grandmother!" Sam cackled.

Peter said that he wasn't collecting tiny spoons. Ned was collecting tiny spoons. MJ
awkwardly said, "Oh. Okay, well...that was a real roller coaster." MJ continued to say that
they should probably download a VPN on their phone just so the government can't track
them while they're abroad.

"Smart," said Tony. "I like your girlfriend, kid."

"She's not my girlfriend."

"Yet."

Peter said, "Smart. Will do," as MJ left. Ned said that went really great, while Peter shot him
a look.

Everyone laughed.

At the Homeless Support fundraiser in Queens, Peter was in his Iron Spider suit with May on
stage.

"Who's that?" asked Scott.

"May," answered Peter. "She's my aunt."

"When I blipped back to my apartment, the family living there was very confused. The wife
thought that I was a mistress. The grandma thought that I was a ghost."

Everyone chuckled.

Peter froze. "Someone else is living in our apartment?" he asked. "Where are we living now? What
about all our stuff?"

Everyone grimaced as they realized the mess the Blip created.

A note appeared that read Tony packed up your apartment and room at the Compound and
placed it all safely in storage.

Peter sighed in relief. At least they had all their stuff, including some of Ben's stuff. "Thanks,
Tony."

"Of course," Tony nodded. "It's good I packed up your room at the Compound; otherwise,
everything would have been destroyed."

"It was," May laughed, "It was really a mess. Thank you all for coming out to support those
who have been displaced by the Blip, and, of course, thanks to our very own Spider-Man!"

Everyone winced at the repercussions of the Blip.

They erupted in applause for Spider-Man, and May gestured for Peter to take the
microphone. Peter said, "Thank you, Ms Parker, for having me. And thank you guys for
having me." He awkwardly gave the audience a thumbs-up.

Everyone snorted.

The audience cheered again. May took the microphone again and said, "And thank you,
Spider-Man, and he'll be right back out to take photos and videos, thank you!" Peter waved
as he and May went backstage, and Peter unmasked himself.

"Wow, Spider-Man is really popular in Queens," Scott noticed.

"Of course, he is. He's the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man." Tony looked at Peter proudly and
then added with a frown. "Who has also been to space."

"That was amazing!" Peter said. "That was great!" May said as she high-fived Peter. "Ah,
that was so cool. I was a little nervous!" "My body was a little stiff. I felt like I wasn't in the
pocket." "No, I thought you did great!" "Yeah, well, actually, I did think you were a little
stiff." Peter shrugged, "I felt that, too, I felt that, too." May said it was fine and asked Peter
if he got his passport. Peter said yes. May asked if he took his mini toothpaste, and Peter said
he got that too. Peter heard a sound and put his mask back on, only to see Happy entering
carrying a big cheque.

Rhodey and Tony smiled at seeing Happy.

"Hey, sorry I'm late." Peter took his mask off and happily greeted Happy. Happy ignored
him and told May that she looks lovely.

Rhodey and Tony had a shit-eating grin on their faces.

May said, "Thanks, you too." "Thank you. New dress?" Happy asked. May smiled. "Yes, it
is. That’s a new beard." Peter looked back and forth at the two of them, confused.

Rhodey and Tony were howling with laughter.

"Ohmygod, Happy likes May!" cackled Rhodey.

Peter whipped his head towards Rhodey with a look of horror on his face. "What? No!"

" It's my Blip beard because I grew it in the Blip. Blip beard." "I see."

Rhodey and Tony laughed harder.

"Anyway, the reason I'm late is because this was misplaced at the office. Can you believe it?
Because it's enormous. I mean, not the amount, the size. The amount's nice too," Happy said.

"I've never seen Happy like this," Tony said, amused.

Peter frowned.

"Oh," May laughed. Happy said that Pepper was sorry that she couldn't be there, as May
said thank you.

Tony frowned slightly at hearing that Pepper wasn't going to be there. He was worried about how
Pepper and Morgan were after his death.

Peter was still looking at Happy and May in confusion.

Peter was looking at them in the same way.

May said that she was going to change the Sterno under the vegan lasagna and told Peter to
shake hands. Peter told May, "Will do," and then turned to Happy and asked what just
happened.

"Happy and May were flirting. That's what happened," Tony guffawed.

Peter groaned. "Please don't."

Everyone else chuckled.

Happy ignored what Peter asked and said, "Heads up, Nick Fury's calling you."

Tony stopped laughing and said, "Why the hell is Fury calling you?"

Peter's eyes widened. "I don't know!"

"Nick Fury's gonna call me?" "Yeah." "Why?" Peter asked incredulously.

"Exactly. Why?" Tony frowned.

"Why is Fury contacting a child?" said Steve.

Peter pouted at being called a child.

"Why? Because he probably has some hero stuff for you to do. You're a superhero. He calls
superheroes." "Well, I mean, if it was really that important, he'd probably call someone else.
Not me."

"You're a great superhero, kid," Tony said. "But he shouldn't be calling you."

Peter's phone started to ring inside his bag. "Apparently not." Peter pulled out his phone
from his bag. "No caller ID. That’s him," Happy said.

Tony groaned. "Just hang up."

Peter said he didn't want to talk to Nick Fury, while Happy told him to answer the phone.
Peter asked why, and Happy said, "Because if you don't talk to him, then I have to talk, and I
don't want to talk to him."

"Who wants to?" Tony said.

"Why don’t you want to talk to him?" Peter asked. " Because I’m scared . . . Just answer the
phone," said Happy.

Everyone grinned.

Peter held up his phone and declined the call.

Everyone burst out laughing.

"Kid, I’m so proud," Tony said, wiping the tears from his eyes, still laughing. Peter smiled.

"He's just like you," Natasha said to Tony, amused.

"You sent Nick Fury to voice mail?" Happy said disbelievingly.

"Yeah, he did," Tony said, proudly.

"Yeah." "You don’t send Nick Fury to voice mail!"

"He just did!" Clint laughed.

Peter pretended to hear someone calling him and said, "Did you hear that? They’re calling
me. I got to go. I got to go," and backed away.

Everyone smirked at Peter lying to get away.

"You got to talk to him. You do not ghost Nick Fury!" Happy said. "I’m going to call him. I
promise you. I’m going to call him. I will." Peter's spider-legs opened the curtain.

"I did it all the time," Tony snickered.

Peter promised that he'll call him, exited the room, and whispered, "After my trip."

"Good, don't let Fury ruin your trip," said Steve.

Peter put his mask back on and jumped on stage, "Hey!" Backstage, Happy picked up a call.
"Yeah? Hi — No, no, he's not ghosting you."

Everyone cackled at Happy lying to Fury.

On stage, reporters crowded around Peter, asking him a lot of questions.

Everyone winced at seeing reporters surrounding Peter.

"Okay, one question at a time," Peter said as he pointed to a woman. "Are you the head
Avenger? Are you the head Avenger now?" She asked.

"Absolutely not," said Tony. "The head Avenger would probably be Sam or Rhodey. Or maybe
both of them leading together."

"Uh no, I'm not." Peter pointed to another woman who asked, "If the aliens come back, what
are you gonna do?"

Everyone winced.

"Of course, after the Blip, everyone would be worried about that," said Clint.

Peter looked around and asked, "Does anyone have any neighbourhood questions?"

"Poor kid," muttered Scott.

Tony shot Peter a look. "Now, you want to be a friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man?"

"I died and came back to life five years later, and you just—" Peter took a deep breath. "So yeah,
maybe, I should just stay on the ground for now."

Tony flinched at the reminder of his death.

Everyone started asking questions at the same time again. A man said, "Sean Wilford,
Queens Tribune. What is it like to take over from Tony Stark? Those are some big shoes to
fill."
Everyone grimaced.

"You're not taking over from me," Tony said softly. "You're going to do your own thing."

His question echoed in Peter's mind. Peter started to panic and said, "I'm uh— I'm going to
go. Thanks so much, everyone, for coming." Peter jumped out and swung to a rooftop. He
removed his mask and took a deep breath. Peter's phone buzzed in his backpack, and he
reached to get it but declined the call.

Tony frowned. "Fury needs to stop calling you."

Peter turned to his left to see a huge mural of Iron Man.

Tony and Peter froze, and everyone else sent Peter sympathetic looks.

Strange looked away. He was steeped in guilt. It was his fault - he knowingly sent Tony to his
death even though he had a family, and now Peter was mourning him.

Chapter End Notes

And now here's FFH!

In my opinion, PeterMJ is one of MCU's best relationships (not that they have very
many good ones) and I absolutely think Tony would LOVE MJ. Everyone's rooting
for them though (as they should).

I think Stephen would feel really guilty about Tony's death since in his first movie we
saw him feel the weight of accidentally killing one of Kaecillius's men, so I think it
would weigh on him that he willingly sent Tony to his death, even if it was to save the
universe. That's why I think he cast that spell for Peter in the NWH trailer.

Rhodey and Tony think Happy and May's relationship is the funniest thing ever! I love
Happy and May's relationship so much, Marvel better not hurt them in NWH.

I know we don't know if Steve is officially dead, but I needed a resolute ending for
him so I killed him off. I don't think we'll be seeing Old Steve in anything anyway.

Fun Fact: New Asgard was actually one of the places Peter's class was supposed to
visit, but they removed it :(

Tell me what you think!

In Peter's room, an unknown phone number called as he packed his suitcase. Peter looks at
it, but he sets it back down, upset.

"Ugh," said Tony. "Can't Fury leave you alone so you can go on your trip peacefully?"

Peter pulled a bin from underneath the bed, took some clothes out, and sniffed them as he
placed them in his suitcase.

"So that's our new apartment," Peter sighed.

Peter gets up and stays there for a moment before he turns his head to see his Stark-made
Spider-Man suit hanging from his closet. He looks at it when suddenly, May comes in with a
banana in her hand. "Hungry?" May asked and threw the banana at Peter's face.

Tony and Rhodey snorted while everyone else looked amused.

"Does your aunt regularly throw bananas at you?" asked Sam.

"No," Peter laughed.

The banana hit him, and he jerked back. Peter gasped and turned around to see May with
her hands on her mouth, shocked.

Everyone chuckled.

"Oh... So sorry. I thought you could sense that with your Peter-tingle," May said as she
laughed.

Peter looked disgusted while everyone else roared with laughter.

Peter sighed, "Please do not start calling it my Peter-tingle."

Everyone, except Peter, snickered.

"What's your Peter-tingle?" Steve asked, grinning.

Peter groaned. "Please don't start calling it that," he said and answered, "It's sort of like a sixth
sense."

"So, what's up? You can dodge bullets but not bananas?" May asked.

Tony snorted.

"So, your aunt is okay with you going out as Spider-Man?" Scott asked.

Tony and Peter winced. "Well, she wasn't at first."

"You forgot to mention that she didn't know," said Rhodey.

"She didn't know?" exclaimed several people.

"Yeah," Peter grimaced. "And when she found out…." Peter and Tony shuddered.

"I can still hear the yelling sometimes," muttered Tony.

"Well, it wasn't pretty. But she came around to the idea."

"And made me mentor you more," said Tony.

Peter nodded. "That too."

Steve looked at them fondly. It was good to know that Tony was okay when the Avengers were
broken up, and a large part of it looked to be because of Peter.

Peter says that he really needed this vacation. He needs a break.

Tony looked at Peter sadly. It was a stark contrast to the 15-year-old kid who was so eager to help.

May hugged him as she said, "You deserve it."

"You do," said Natasha.

May pulled away and said, "You know what? You should pack your suit, just in case. I have
a tingle about it."

Everyone snorted as Peter groaned.

Peter cringed, "Please stop saying 'tingle', May!" and looked back at his suit in the closet.
"No." Peter closed his closet door.

"Good. You deserve to go on a nice vacation," said Tony.

Peter looked over at the Iron Spider suit that was charging.

Bucky let out a low whistle. He was impressed. Some stuff in the future never ceased to impress
him.

Everyone looked at the Iron Spider suit with raised eyebrows, while Peter looked at it with wide
eyes.

"That's so cool!" said Scott.

Tony looked smug.

A sign behind it says 'Iron Spider Charging Do Not Unplug .' Peter looked at the Iron Spider
suit, deep in thought, as he said, "No. No, I'm not," and closed his suitcase.

"Good for you, kid," said Clint.

On the airplane, Peter opened his window and looked out. He smiled happily. Ned put his
hand on Peter's shoulder excitedly.

Everyone smiled at seeing Peter and Ned so excited about vacation.

Betty Brant comes in, waving at some people. Mr Harrington comes behind her, talking to
Mr Dell.

" Roger ?" Bruce said incredulously.

"You know Mr Harrington?" said Peter, confused.

"Yeah, we were at Culver together," said Bruce with wide eyes. "He gave me access to the
computers at night in exchange for pizza. I haven't spoken to him in ages."

"What the fuck?" said Tony. "Does everyone know someone at Peter's school?"

Clint snorted. "What are the odds?"

"Oh," said Peter. "Mr Harrington never mentioned that and there's a picture of you in the physics
classroom."

Bruce's eyes widened. "What?"

Peter nodded.

Thor grinned and nudged Bruce. "Seven PhDs."

Bruce rolled his eyes.

"Come on, Bruce," said Tony. "The kid goes to a magnet school. Everyone would know about you
there."

"Yeah," Peter agreed. "Everyone loves you and the Hulk too. Thor and Hulk are, like, everyone's
favourite Avengers."

Tony sent Peter a look, and Peter hastily added, "Iron Man too."

Everyone snickered.

"Do you want the first shift or the second? I could take either." "Give me the third shift. I
took an Ambien," said Mr Dell.

Clint chuckled. "You have great teachers, kid."

Mr Harrington panicked and said, "I can't chaperone these kids alone." On the other side of
the plane, Flash Thompson is holding a drink in his hand.

"Ugh," said Peter. "Flash is still there."

" Flash ?" Bucky said with a snort. "Who names their kid Flash ?"

"Himself, actually," Peter answered. "His actual name is Eugene, but everyone calls him Flash."

"I don't know what's worse – Flash or Eugene," said Sam, amused.

"Yo, Parker! This is called an airplane. It's like the buses you're used to, except it flies over
the poor neighbourhoods instead of driving through them."

Everyone scowled while Peter rolled his eyes.

MJ calls for the flight attendant, and Brad is behind her. "Ma'am, he blipped, so technically,
he's 16, not 21." Flash Thompson blinked at MJ as the flight attendant took the drink out of
Flash's hand.

Everyone laughed.

"I can see why you like her, Peter. She's very funny," said Wanda.

Peter's face turned slightly pink.

Peter's classmates laughed at Flash. Flash said, "She's lying! I don't even know this girl."

Everyone snickered.

MJ turned around to Ned and Peter and smirked. Brad smiled at them as he passed by,
"Classic MJ, right?"

"Ugh," said Tony with a frown. "I don't like Brad."

"He's a child, Tony," Steve said.

"No, Tony's right," said Natasha. "We don't like Brad."

"Thank you, Nat," said Tony. He turned to Peter and said, "We've decided that we don't like
Brad."

A smile tugged on Peter's lips. "Thanks."

Peter's smile faded as he looked at Brad. "Did you know Brad was coming?" Ned shook his
head and said, "It's so weird. Like, one day, he's that kid who cried and got nosebleeds all the
time, and suddenly, we Blip back, and he's totally ripped and super nice, and all these girls
are after him."

"Exactly!" said Peter with a frown, and froze. Did MJ like Brad?

Clint shook his head. "The Blip messed everything up."

Peter furrowed his eyebrows as they turn back around from watching Brad Davis and MJ
put their stuff in the overhead compartments.

"Poor Peter," said Wanda.

"Not all the girls are after him." Ned said, "No, man. They're all after him." MJ laughed
with Brad.

Everyone winced as Peter looked worried.

"Don't worry, kid," said Tony. "She doesn't like Brad." He didn't know if she did or not, but that
was what he was supposed to say, right?

"I hope so," muttered Peter.

Ned turned back around as Peter kept looking at Brad and MJ. Ned said that it's a nine-hour
flight, and they can play Beast Slayers the whole time. "I need your help to sit next to MJ,"
Peter said.

"Don't give up on your plan!" said Wanda as Peter turned red.

Ned sighed as he said, "Seriously?" "Yes, seriously." Ned protested as he asked about their
plan about being American bachelors in Europe.

Everyone snorted.

Peter denied it and said that was Ned's plan and he needs help with his plan. Ned sighed.

"You have a good friend," said Steve.

Peter smiled. "Yeah, he's the best."

"He also hacked into your multi-million dollar suit that I made," said Tony with a raised eyebrow.

Peter winced.

"I'm so proud, kid. Ted's great."

"It's Ned."

"That's what I just said."

Ned got up from his seat and walked over to MJ and Betty, who were sitting next to each
other. "Hey, guys. Uh, there's an old lady in front of us wearing a crazy amount of perfume,
and it's kind of setting off Peter's allergies."

Natasha groaned. "Your friend is so bad at lying."

"Uh, Betty, if you could switch seats with him, that would be—". Betty incredulously said,
"He's allergic to perfume ?"

Sam shook his head. "Yeah, I couldn't believe that either."

"Uh, yeah, because it— it makes his eyes water, and he can't really—". Mr Harrington
popped up from his seat. "Peter has a perfume allergy? I'll tell you from experience;
perfume allergies are no joke. I can feel hives breaking out already."

Everyone chuckled.

He told MJ to stand up and Ned to take MJ's spot. He told MJ to take his spot and told Peter
to come with him. Now, Brad and MJ were sitting next to each other.

Everyone groaned at Brad and MJ sitting together while Peter buried his head in his hands.
"Great," he muttered.

Mr Harrington thanked Ned for bringing this to their attention, but Mr Dell was snoring.
Peter groaned and picked up his bag. Ned awkwardly sat down next to Betty. Peter passed
Mr Harrington and sat in the middle seat next to him. "Yeah, I have a small bladder, so I
took the aisle," said Mr Harrington.

"Well, that didn't work out," Clint chuckled.

Ned asked Betty if he wanted to play Beast Slayer, who said no. Ned then tried to ask her if
she had played any PC game, but she said no to that.

"This is so awkward," muttered Bucky.

Peter looked upset as he sat in the back with Mr Harrington.

"Parker luck," Peter grumbled.

Mr Harrington said, "Did I ever tell you how my wife pretended to Blip out?"

Everyone winced.

" Pretended to Blip?" said Steve. "That's awful!"

"Turns out, she ran off with a guy in her hiking group. We had a fake funeral for her and
everything. Well, the funeral was real because I thought she was really dead. Wanna see the
video?"

Everyone grimaced.

"That's depressing," said Bruce. "I think I should catch up with Roger."

Peter made a face. "I still can't believe you know my teacher. That's so weird."

Brad told MJ that he had a dual headphone adapter if he wanted to watch a movie, to which
MJ said, "Only if it's depressing or hilarious."

Wanda frowned. "He stole Peter's plan!"

"Oh, you have a dual headphone adapter," Mr Harrington said. "We can watch together."
Peter looked at his dual headphone adapter sadly.

Everyone looked at Peter sadly. Poor Peter.

Brad and MJ watched a movie and laughed together as Peter perked his head up and looked
at them worriedly.

Sam and Bucky let out a snort while Peter looked at Brad and MJ, panicking.

Peter looked at different in-flight options – The Snap, Finding Wakanda, Hunting HYDRA,
Nova with Dr Erik Selvig, and Heart of Iron: The Tony Stark Story. Peter turned off the
screen after seeing the Tony Stark documentary.

Tony sighed while everyone looked at Peter sympathetically. He was grieving Tony's death, and it
didn't help that he was seeing him everywhere.

Ned played Beast Slayers while Betty was reading a book when the plane shook, and Ned's
hand fell on Betty's. The two looked at each other like they had just noticed one another for
the first time.

Peter blinked in surprise and everyone else snickered at the two.

"Oh man, I remember high school relationships," said Sam. "They were the worst."
Bucky snorted. "Who would want to date you ?"

"Shut the fuck up."

Steve sighed. Those two enjoyed insulting each other way too much.

Peter used the bathroom and opened the door to see MJ, only to panic and close the door.

Everyone burst out laughing while Peter buried his face in his hands. This was so embarrassing.

"Kid, don't worry. Rhodey and I are here to help you," said Tony.

Rhodey couldn't help but laugh. "You mean I'm there for Peter. I had to watch you pathetically
pine over Pepper for years ."

"That is absolutely not true."

Rhodey rolled his eyes.

MJ stood outside the door awkwardly while Peter was cleaning the toilet seat and the sink
inside the bathroom.

Everyone was howling with laughter while Peter's face turned red again.

Peter checked if his hair was okay and if there was anything in his teeth. He put a piece of
gum in his mouth and smiled in the mirror.

"That is adorable," Wanda smiled.

Peter opened the door to find Brad outside, smiling.

Everyone snorted.

"Peter has the worst luck, doesn't he?" said Clint.

Peter nodded.

Peter tried to fall asleep and opened his eyes when Mr Harrington put his head on Peter's
shoulder.

Everyone burst into giggles as Peter groaned.

In Venice, Italy, Peter asked Ned if he saw Brad and MJ on the plane as they were watching
movies and laughing the entire time.

"Are you jealous?" said Bucky, amused.

"No."

Ned was assuring Peter that it was nothing when Betty came up to them. "Hey, babe, can you
hold this for me, please?" said Betty.

"What the fuck," said Peter.

Everyone else blinked in surprise.

"When did that happen?" said Steve.

Ned said, "Of course," and Betty kissed his cheek while Peter looked at them in surprise.

Everyone laughed at Peter's reaction.

Ned bopped Betty on the nose. Betty smiled and walked away.

"Teenagers," Clint chuckled.

Peter asked what that was, and Ned said they got to talk on the plane and found out they had
a lot in common, so they're boyfriend and girlfriend now.

"That was fast," said Steve.

Peter asked, "Whatever happened to being an American bachelor in Europe?"

"Both of you ditched the plan," laughed Tony.

"Peter... those were the words of a boy. That boy met a woman. A very strong and powerful
woman. And now, that boy's a man," said Ned.

Everyone was in stitches from laughing so much.

"Ned is great," giggled Wanda.

Betty called for Ned, and Ned said he was coming. At customs, Peter is taken away from the
group into a private searching area. A stern-looking woman unzipped his suitcase. Peter said
that there was nothing in there. The woman opened the case and found the Spider-Man suit
with a note that read, "You almost forgot this – May xx". Peter panicked.

Everyone sucked in a breath while Peter made the same expression as his on-screen self.

"Shit!" Tony cursed.

The woman picked up the banana in the suitcase and said, "This, no."

Everyone laughed.

Rhodey laughed, "She probably thought the suit was a weird pair of pajamas or something."

There was a giant mural of Tony Stark in the Iron Man suit as Peter rushed back to the
school group and told Mr Harrington that he was here.

Everyone winced at the reminder that Tony was dead.

Tony felt awful. Peter couldn't even enjoy his vacation without remembering that Tony was dead.

The group are on a boat in Venice, taking pictures of the place.

"I don't know any of these people," Peter realized. "They must've not blipped."

Everyone grimaced at the aftermath of the Blip.

Peter was staring at MJ when she looked back at him, and Peter looked away. When MJ
looked back forward, Peter continued to stare at MJ.

Everyone snickered at the two while Peter blushed.

The boat pulled up to a dingy looking hotel.

Tony scoffed. "That's your hotel?"

Everyone entered the hotel. Mr Harrington took two steps inside when he stepped into a
puddle.

"Gross."

All the students were complaining about the place. Mr Dell told the students to drop off their
bags. The students are now i n San Marco Squ are. Flash was live-streaming, "What's up,
Flash Mob, how are you guys doing? I'm in San Marco Square—" A student ran past and
punched Flash in the groin, and he doubled over. "—Oh!"

All the men winced while Wanda and Natasha snorted.

Ned and Betty were getting a caricature drawing done of them.

"They're adorable," said Wanda.

Mr Harrington was trying to take a photo of himself in front of the scenery. He set his
camera on the railing and posed awkwardly. The camera took the picture. Mr Harrington
nearly dropped the camera while grabbing it. He looked at the picture, and the camera
slipped from his hands and fell into the water.

Everyone winced.

"That man can't catch a break, can he?" said Rhodey.

"Poor guy," muttered Scott.

The students were taking selfies with masquerade masks. MJ stood with her arms out,
pigeons perched on her arm and shoulder, while Brad took her picture. Peter looked at them
worriedly.

Peter looked at them the same way.

Peter entered a small shop and greeted the shopkeeper. The shopkeeper held up a Black
Dahlia necklace to the light as Peter said it was perfect.

"That's so romantic, Peter," teased Wanda while Bucky and Sam snickered, and Peter groaned.

Tony looked at Peter proudly. "She's going to love it."

Peter exited the shop and was smiling to himself when MJ unexpectedly came behind him.
Peter quickly hid the bag with the necklace behind him.

"Like that's not going to be suspicious," said Natasha.

MJ talked about how much she loved the word 'Boh' when a man came up trying to sell
roses. MJ said, "Boh." The man frowned and walked off.

Everyone laughed.

"I like her," said Tony. "She's great."

Peter grinned. He was happy that Tony liked MJ.

MJ said Boh is her new superpower and asked Peter what was in the bag. Peter shrugged.
"Boh." MJ was impressed and said, "Nice."

"This is the weirdest type of flirting I've ever seen," said Sam.

Peter turned red.

"Shut up, Sam," said Wanda. "It's sweet."

"Clearly, you haven't seen Tony and Pepper," said Rhodey.

Tony rolled his eyes.

There were weird water waves.

The light-hearted atmosphere disappeared, and everyone's smiles faded away.

Tony groaned. "What now?" he complained. "Can't the kid just enjoy his vacation?"

MJ noticed the many crabs escaping the water at the dock and took a picture with her phone.
Peter cocked his head to the side as he noticed the water being sucked from the grate.

"Weird shit is happening again," muttered Rhodey.

Waves rocked the boat Ned and Betty were in, and Betty asked, "What was that?" The waves
continued before the water became completely still for a split second.

Everyone was tense. They all knew that this was the calm before the storm.

Water erupted from the canal, and people started to scream. Ned and Betty were screaming
as their boat was pushed towards shore by the waves.

"What the hell!" yelled Scott.

Peter's breath caught, worried for Ned and Betty.

Peter helped Ned and Betty out of the boat. The water flew into the air, taking the shape of a
man, and the water monster roared.

Everyone's jaw dropped.

"What the fuck is that?" cried Sam.

"It's the same thing as the rock monster in Mexico!" said Clint. "Except it's water now."

Ned asked what that was and what Peter was going to do. Peter said that he didn't know and
he left his suit in his room because he was on vacation.
"Shit!" said Tony.

Peter told Ned to get everyone out of there because they were going to see his face. The Water
Elemental smashed its hand into buildings and boats as Peter helped people off the steps.

Everyone paled at the damage the Water Elemental was creating.

Peter hit his wrists together to activate his web-shooters.

"That's so cool!" said Scott.

Tony looked at Peter proudly. "He made them himself."

Everyone looked at Peter, impressed as Peter's face turned slightly pink.

Peter shot a web at the monster, but it doesn't do anything, and Peter looks mildly
exasperated.

Bucky snorted. "What did you think that was going to do?"

Peter looked embarrassed.

Peter saw that the monster was heading towards a bridge swarming with people. He jumped
across poles in the water and launched himself up onto the bridge.

The people who weren't aware of Peter's powers blinked in surprise.

"That's impressive," said Steve.

Peter grinned.

The water monster slams its fist into the bridge, and Peter is sent flying back. He hit the
other side of the bridge, now soaking wet and coughed up water.

Everyone winced.

Green lights can be seen shooting at the monster from above. A man with an elaborate suit
with a cape appears out of the mist, wearing a glass bowl over his head filled with mist.

Tony groaned. "Not Beck again."

Natasha and Steve looked at Beck suspiciously. "Something's not right with this guy," said
Natasha.

"Agreed."

Bucky looked at Beck carefully. "Maybe he's behind the monsters."

Tony froze. He felt like his heart had stopped. "He used to work on BARF," he croaked out.

"Barf?" Sam asked incredulously.

"Binarily Augmented Retro-Framing," answered Tony, his hands shaking. Peter was paying for his
mistake now. "It's a holographic system."

"So, it's basically illusion tech?" Natasha questioned.

Tony nodded his head. "I wanted to use BARF for therapy, but he didn't."

"But why would he do this?" asked Clint.

"I don't know!" snapped Tony. "He's an unstable liar!"

Mysterio fought the monster as Peter, now wearing a masquerade mask, said, "Excuse me,
sir! I can help! Let me help! I'm really strong, and I'm...sticky!"

Everyone burst out laughing.

"Yeah, you are," sighed Tony. "I hate it when you walk over the ceiling."

"It's fun!" Peter argued.

Natasha raised an eyebrow. "You walk on the ceiling?"

Peter nodded.

"He leaves footprints all over the ceiling," Tony complained. "And he doesn't listen when I tell him
not to." He sent Peter a slight glare.

Peter rolled his eyes.

Everyone looked at Peter and Tony, amused.

Mysterio told Peter to lead the monster away from the canals. The monster smashed through
a building, and Peter swings around it, attaching webs to hold it together.

"That's impressive," said Scott.

Mr Dell and Mr Harrington led a small group of students to the DaVinci Museum, which was
closed until November.

"And they didn't check online?" said Sam.

Mysterio arrived fighting the water monster, and the group ran.

Everyone grimaced.

Peter saw that the bell tower was about to fall and swung towards it. Peter swung around the
bell tower, using webs to stick it back together.

"How strong are those webs?" Scott asked.

"Pretty strong."

Peter landed at the top of the bell tower, ducking under the bell to get to the other side. Peter
watched Mysterio fight the monster. The bell tower started to fall again, and Peter shot a
web, attaching it to two buildings across from him.

Everyone was impressed.

The monster hit the tower, making Peter fall and hit his head on the bell. Peter groaned. The
tower cracked again, pulling Peter by his webs. Peter's head hit the bell again.
Everyone winced, but Bucky and Sam snickered.

Peter shot new webs, trying to keep the tower up, while Mysterio was still fighting the
monster.

Everyone's jaws dropped. "How strong are you?" asked Clint.

"I caught a bus with my bare hands once."

"Don't forget about the ferry," said Tony.

Peter winced. "Yeah, the ferry too."

"I think you might be stronger than Steve," said Natasha.

Steve looked at Peter, impressed.

Peter's classmates were watching Mysterio fight the monster.

"This guy is not good news," said Bruce.

Meanwhile, Peter is still trying to keep the bell tower from falling. He yelled as the tower
crumbled and finally crashed to the ground. Mysterio landed at the Square, which was
completely destroyed as people began to cheer.

Tony snorted while everyone else looked at Beck suspiciously.

Peter checked if the Black Dahlia necklace was okay and sighed in relief when he saw it was
fine.

Wanda sighed in relief as well. She was incredibly invested in Peter and MJ's relationship now.

Mysterio saluted the crowd before taking off and flying away in a cloud of green smoke.

Tony rolled his eyes.

Chapter End Notes

Hope you enjoyed the chapter!

For those of you who don't know: Mr Harrington's actor, Martin Starr, did show up in
The Incredible Hulk. He was credited as "Computer Nerd", but when he was cast in
Homecoming, Computer Nerd was retconned into Roger Harrington. Mr Harrington
did actually give Bruce access to the computer lab in exchange for pizza in the movie
lol

I think the group would figure out Mysterio's bullshit a lot earlier because Tony
already told them that Beck was an unstable liar and he also knew that Beck used to
work on BARF, so they would already be suspicious. A lot of them are also highly
trained spies/agents/assassins, which Peter is most definitely not. In the movie, Peter
trusted Beck so easily because he wanted to run away from his responsibility and was
so desperate to pass it on to the first superhero adult he saw. And Peter was also
grieving Tony.

I love Aunt May and there was not enough Aunt May in this movie :( Hopefully, there
will be more Aunt May in NWH.

Chapter Notes

The students were watching a television news report about Mysterio. Ned said that it had to
be aliens.

"That's depressing," said Sam.

Flash said, "Buzzfeed says there's a sailor named Morris Bench who was exposed to an
experimental underwater generator and got hydro powers."

Everyone snorted.

MJ sarcastically said that they should definitely believe everything they read on the internet.
Flash said that Spider-Man could take him.

Everyone gave Peter an amused look while Peter snickered. He thought it was hilarious that Flash
was a Spider-Man fan.

Mr Harrington asked Dr Dell what he thought it was, to which Mr Dell replied, "You know,
being a man of science.... witches."

Everyone laughed.

"Witches aren't real," Bruce chuckled and then stopped. "Are they?"

"After everything, I wouldn't be surprised," said Bucky.

Strange glanced at Wanda.

Peter was standing away from the group talking to May on his phone, telling her they wanted
to stay. Back in an office in New York, May said, "It's a good thing I packed your suit, huh. I
can't believe you forgot it."

"Forgot it, huh," said Tony.

She asked him who the guy Peter was with was, "Was that Mister Strange?"

Strange groaned. "It's Doctor Strange."

"Doctor Strange, May. Doctor Strange."

"I guess we're using our made-up names then," Tony laughed.

Peter turned pink as Strange rolled his eyes.

Everyone chuckled.

"And, um...no. I don't know who that was. He was a new guy. I was trying to help him, but
—" He was cut off by May, "Hey, Happy. No. That's my lunch. Don't eat that one."
Rhodey and Tony cackled while Peter groaned.

"Happy's taking advantage of the fact that Peter isn't in New York," Rhodey said while laughing.

"Gross! Don't say that!" yelled Peter.

Everyone snickered.

"Happy's there?" Peter asked suspiciously.

"Yeah, and he's probably having a lot of fun," Tony laughed.

"Yeah. It's Happy. He's here. He came by to volunteer. And, he's hanging around the office.
And he wants to say hi." Happy frantically shook his head as May forced the phone into his
hand.

Everyone chuckled.

"Hi, Peter." "Hey, Happy," Peter said awkwardly.

Peter huffed in frustration.

May smiled at Happy as Happy said, "I'm sorry. I'm working real hard here. I gotta do a
leaflet drop." "What're you doing..." asked Peter.

"This is hilarious," Rhodey laughed.

"I'm glad you're having a good time. Don't worry. I'm really taking care of your aunt."
Happy froze and closed his eyes in frustration as May blew him a kiss.

Tony and Rhodey were in stitches by now, holding on to each other for support, while Peter buried
his head in his hands.

Bucky and Sam let out a loud guffaw at Peter's expense.

May took the phone back and asked how the plan was going. Peter looked at Brad and said,
"There's some setbacks, for sure."

Wanda frowned. "Brad is the worst ."

Tony and Natasha agreed with her as Steve looked at them in amusement.

May told Peter to trust his instincts, and he'll be fine.

"May's right," said Tony.

Betty asked who Beck was as she and the other students were watching the news. Brad said
that he was like Iron Man and Thor rolled into one.

Tony and Thor both scoffed.

"If I didn't like Brad before, this would've confirmed it," said Tony.

Flash scoffed, "He's all right. He's no Spider-Man."

"What's up with Flash and Spider-Man?" Sam asked Peter.

Peter shrugged.

MJ asked what was it with him and Spider-Man. "What? He's just awesome, okay? He
protects the neighbourhood, and you know, he's inspiring. He inspires me to be a better
man." Peter re-joined the group, and Flash said to him, "Sup dickwad? I thought you
drowned."

Tony frowned while Peter rolled his eyes. Everyone else chuckled at Flash praising Spider-Man
but insulting Peter.

"Oh, the irony," Clint said.

A woman on the news was talking about Beck. Brad said that it sounds like his name is
Mysterio. MJ said, "L’uomo del misterio is Italian for man of mystery. They don't actually
know who he is."

"And she's smart too," Wanda complimented. "I can see why you like her, Peter."

Peter blushed.

Betty and Ned said that Mysterio was a cool name at the same time.

Everyone snorted.

Peter asked MJ how much of it she saw. MJ said not much since she was running. "Right. Me
too. I was also running...away," said Peter. MJ gave Peter an unimpressed look.

Everyone snickered.

"Peter, I'm going to teach you how to lie," Natasha said firmly. "You're awful at it."

Peter's jaw dropped at Natasha offering to teach him.

"It's a spider activity," joked Scott.

Peter nervously said that they were going to Paris tomorrow and that the Eiffel Tower should
be great.

"And you can give MJ the necklace," Wanda gave Peter a sly look.

Everyone else, especially Sam and Bucky, laughed.

Peter's face turned pink.

"I read it was secretly built as a mind control antenna to create an army of the insane," said
MJ. "Which is why it's my favourite destination on the whole trip." Peter smiled at her, and
then they both awkwardly looked away.

Everyone snorted.

"They're both so awkward," said Tony.

In Ned and Peter's hotel room, Ned asked Peter what he would do about the water monster.
Everyone stopped smiling as they remembered the water monster.

Peter said that he wasn't going to do anything since that Mysterio guy was all over it.

Tony frowned. "I don't trust him."

"Look, I just wanna spend some time with MJ. We were talking about Paris and... I think she
really likes me."

Everyone started giggling again as Peter buried his head in his hands.

Ned said, "That's nice. Reminds me of when Betty and I first fell in love."

"Didn't they just get together like yesterday ?" Scott said, amused.

"I had just finished my first fruit cobbler, right—" Ned was hit with a dart and collapsed on
his bed.

Everyone sucked in a breath and looked at Peter, worried.

"You're a very difficult person to contact, Spider-Man," said Fury, who was sitting in a
shaded corner of the room.

Everyone groaned.

"Why can't Fury just leave him alone," Tony complained.

"You're Nick Fury. You just shot Ned." "It's just a mild tranquillizer. He'll be all right. So
good to finally meet you. I saw you at the funeral, but I didn't think that was a good time to
exchange numbers."

Everyone grimaced at the reminder of Tony's funeral while Tony shifted uncomfortably.

Peter said that would have been really inappropriate, and Fury said that's what he just said.

Tony rolled his eyes.

"The important thing is, you're here. I tried to bring you here. You avoided me, and now,
you're here. What a coincidence."

Clint and Natasha frowned at that. Something wasn't right here.

"Wait. Was this a coincidence?" Peter asked.

"Nothing's a coincidence when it comes to Fury," said Tony.

"I used to know everything. Then, I come back five years later, and now, I know nothing. No
intel, no team, and a high school kid is dodging my calls."

Everyone else grimaced while Tony pointed out, "You shouldn't even be calling that high school
kid in the first place."

Steve agreed.
"Here's what I do know." Fury showed a hologram of the event in Mexico. "A week ago, a
village in Mexico was wiped out by a cyclone. Witnesses say that cyclone had a face." Ned
snored loudly.

Everyone chuckled.

"Three days later, a similar event in Morocco. A village was—"

"Morocco too?" Bruce frowned.

"Where are you guys?" he asked Sam, Bucky, Rhodey, and Wanda.

There was a knock at the door, and Fury pointed his gun towards the door, hidden behind
the wall. It was just Mr Harrington checking if anyone needed any emotional counselling
after today's traumatic event.

"He's a sweet teacher," said Wanda.

Peter said they were okay. Fury continued, "A village was destroyed by what may well be
another world-threatening—" another knock cut off Fury.

Everyone chuckled.

This time it was Betty asking for Ned. Peter told her that Ned was already asleep. "That's
why it's imperative—" Fury said before he was interrupted by Mr Dell.

Everyone laughed louder.

By now, Fury was annoyed and told Peter, "Another person touches that door, you and I are
going to attend another funeral. Suit up."

Steve frowned at Fury bringing a sixteen-year-old to fight the Elementals when Sam, Bucky,
Rhodey, and Wanda were there. Hell, even Strange.

Fury and Peter, in his Spider-Man suit, were now in a boat. "Stark left these for you," said
Fury as he handed Peter a small case.

Tony furrowed his eyebrows. "Why would I tell Fury to give Peter that instead of Happy, who
Peter already talks to?"

No one had an answer for him.

Peter opened the case to reveal a pair of Tony's glasses.

Tony smiled as Peter blinked in surprise. "You're giving me one of your super cool AI glasses?"
Peter asked.

"Of course, I trust you with it."

"Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown," said Fury. "Stark said you wouldn't get that
because it's not a Star Wars reference."

Tony laughed, "It's true!"

Fury and Peter were walking in an underground base. Fury told Peter he could take off the
mask as everyone here has seen him without it.

Tony frowned.

Peter took off his mask. Fury introduced Peter to Hill, Dimitri, and Mr Beck.

Everyone groaned at seeing Beck.

"I don't have a good feeling about him," said Steve.

"I definitely don't have a good feeling about him," said Tony. "Peter, don't trust him."

"Mysterio?" asked Peter. "What?"

Bucky and Sam snickered.

"Doesn't matter. It's just what my friends have been calling you." Beck told Peter that he
could call him Quentin and held out a hand for Peter to shake.

Tony's eye twitched at seeing Beck close to Peter, while Peter looked worried for his on-screen
self after hearing what Tony and everyone else said.

Beck complimented Peter on his work in Venice and told him, "We could use someone like
you on my world."

Everyone frowned.

Strange sat up in his seat, carefully paying attention.

"I'm sorry. What?" said Rhodey. "Did I hear that correctly? His world?"

"No, you heard correctly," said Sam, baffled.

"I'm sorry. Your world?" Peter asked, confused. Fury told Peter that Beck was from Earth,
just not his. "There are multiple realities, Peter. This is Earth, Dimension 616. I'm from
Earth 833," explained Beck.

Everyone snorted.

"That's bullshit," said Tony. "He used to work for me on this Earth."

"How is Fury believing this?" asked Clint, astonished.

"Peter, everything this man has said is fake," said Strange, seriously. "Don't believe anything he
says."

Peter nodded with wide eyes.

"I'm sorry, you're saying there's a multiverse?"

"There is a multiverse," said Strange. "Just not whatever he's saying. The Multiverse is a concept
about which we know frighteningly little."

Tony, Bruce, and Peter's jaws dropped. There was a multiverse.

"'Cause I thought that was just theoretical. That completely changes how we understand the
initial singularity. We're talking about an internal inflation system, and how does that even
work with all the quantum—?" Peter said excitedly. "It's insane—" Peter cut off as he
realized everyone was staring at him.

"No, you made complete sense, kid," Tony said. Bruce nodded.

Sam nudged Bucky. "Did you understand anything the kid said?"

Bucky snorted. "No."

Scott perked up hearing 'quantum'. He was convinced that geniuses just put 'quantum' in front of
everything.

"Don't ever apologize for being the smartest one in the room," said Beck. Peter smiled.

Tony's eye twitched again. "I would say that is good advice if it wasn't coming from an unstable
liar."

A hologram appeared on the table as Beck explained what the Elementals were.

Strange shook his head. "Again, nothing he said was true."

"Versions of them exist across our mythologies," said Hill.

Natasha blinked in surprise at Hill believing this too.

Beck said that it turns out that the myths were real. "Like Thor. Thor was a myth, and now I
study him in my physics class," said Peter.

"Your physics classes are very intellectual then," Thor grinned.

Everyone rolled their eyes, except Peter, who looked awed.

"They first materialized on my earth many years ago. We mobilized and fought them, but
with each battle, they grew, got stronger. I was part of the last battalion left trying to stop
them. All we did was delay the inevitable," Beck explained.

Everyone snorted.

Hill said that the Elementals are here now, attacking the same coordinates and their satellites
confirmed it.

"Beck must've done something for the satellites to confirm it," said Natasha.

"But how the hell is he fooling Fury and Hill?" asked Clint.

"Fury and Hill don't know everything," Steve pointed out. "They didn't know about HYDRA."

Clint and Natasha grimaced.

"True," muttered Clint.

Fury said Beck destroyed the other three, and now there's only one left – fire. Beck explained
that Fire was the strongest of them all and the one who took his family.
"He didn't have a family!" yelled Tony.

Hill said it'll be in Prague in 48 hours. Fury said that they had to kill it and Peter was coming
with them.

"Absolutely not," said Tony while shaking his head.

The others agreed with him.

"Pete is going back to his vacation and continuing with his MJ plan while Fury can contact
someone else." He turned to Peter and said, "You better tell him to fuck off."

"I'm sorry. Did you say Prague?" Peter laughed nervously. "Mr Fury, this all seems like
bigtime, you know, huge superhero kinda stuff. And, I mean, I'm just a friendly
neighbourhood Spider-Man, sir."

Tony agreed.

"Bitch, please. You've been to space."

Everyone who knew Fury gaped at the screen. It was absurd hearing him say that.

Peter said it was an accident.

Tony raised an eyebrow. "Clearly, we remember that incident very differently."

Peter looked sheepish.

Peter pleaded that there has to be someone else that they could use.

"There are!" yelled Tony in frustration. "Captain America is right there!" he pointed to Sam.

Sam shifted uncomfortably. He still didn't how to feel about the shield. It came with a lot of
baggage and history.

Peter started naming names. "Thor." "Off-world."

Thor looked apologetic. "Sorry. If I was there, I would have helped."

"Okay, um, Doctor Strange." "Unavailable."

Tony groaned.

Strange grimaced. "Probably because the Elementals are fake. If they were real, I would know
before Fury."

"Captain Marvel." "Don't invoke her name."

Everyone raised an eyebrow in surprise.

"I thought Carol and Fury were friends?" asked Bruce, hesitantly.

"Something must've happened between them," said Rhodey.

"Sir, look, I really wanna help, I do. But if my aunt finds out that I left my class trip, she's
gonna kill me. And if I'm seen like this in Europe, after the Washington Monument, my
whole class will figure out who I am and then, and then the whole world will figure out who I
am, then I'm done," said Peter.

"Exactly," said Tony. "So, Fury better leave him alone."

Fury said, "Okay. I understand."

Everyone who knew Fury was taken aback.

"That was too easy," said Clint. Everyone agreed.

He told Dimitri to take Peter back to his hotel before teachers miss him and become
suspicious. Peter thanked Fury and wished him luck.

"Good for you, kid," said Tony. "You should focus on your vacation."

The group was outside of the hotel the next day. Peter asked Ned if he was good, and Ned
said, "Seriously, getting tranq'd in the neck by Nick Fury, probably the coolest thing to ever
happen to me anyway."

Everyone looked at Ned strangely.

Peter and Ned did their handshake.

"That's cute," said Wanda.

"That's lame," Sam whispered to Bucky, who snickered.

Peter said he was happy that he didn't have to go to Prague.

"Me too," muttered Tony.

"Good news! We're going to Prague!" said Mr Harrington.

"I'm going to kill Fury!" said Tony.

"You have got to be kidding me!" exclaimed Clint.

"You're joking!" said Rhodey.

"Let the kid enjoy his vacation!" Steve cried.

Peter and the other students were shocked as Mr Harrington explained that the tour
company upgraded them.

Tony clenched his jaw while everyone else groaned in frustration.

Mr Harrington showed everyone their upgraded ride. Ned asked what was going on, and
Peter replied, "I think Nick Fury just hijacked our summer vacation."

"That's exactly what he did," said Natasha.

"Fury and I are going to have a long conversation that I don't think he'll enjoy," said Tony.
A big black bus with Dimitri standing outside holding a sign that said 'Midtown High'.

"Great, Dimitri is here too," Scott said sarcastically.

"Awesome," said Ned. "Yeah. Awesome," Peter unenthusiastically replied.

Everyone looked at Peter with pity. He just wanted to go on vacation and ask MJ out.

The group was driving through the Eastern Alps, Austria. Flash was live-streaming on his
phone, "Yo, what's up, Flash Mob? It's your boy, the big F. Cruisin' through the Alps with
my private driver, Dimitri." Dmitri shook his head, annoyed.

Everyone laughed.

Peter was reading an article titled ' Top 10 Romantic Places in Prague'.

Everyone snickered while Peter blushed.

"That's so cute!" said Wanda.

Peter opened the glasses case Fury gave him and put it on with slightly teary eyes.

Everyone looked at Peter sadly.

Peter read the note aloud, "For the next Tony Stark, I trust you. (P.S.) say 'Edith' -T.S."

"I do trust you, kid," said Tony. He looked at the glasses curiously. He hadn't made EDITH yet.

The glasses lit up. EDITH took Peter's retinal and biometric scan. "I am EDITH, Tony
Stark's augmented-reality security and defence system."

Steve stiffened. "Is this another Ultron?"

Tony looked at Steve, frustrated. "I don't know, Rogers. I haven't made EDITH yet. And you didn't
have a problem with JARVIS!"

"That was before Ultron!"

Peter asked if Tony made EDITH for Peter. EDITH said no, but he had access to all of
Tony's protocols.

Tony nodded in approval. He trusted Peter wholeheartedly.

EDITH stood for 'Even Dead I'm The Hero'.

Everyone chuckled sadly as Tony smiled.

Peter chuckled, "Yeah, he did." EDITH told Peter that she has access to the entire Stark
Global Security network, including multiple defence satellites as well as back doors to all
major telecommunication networks.

Tony saw Steve start to argue and quickly said, "Anyone with competent tech can do that."

Peter saw what everyone was doing on their phone. Mr Dell was looking up the history of
Witchcraft.
Everyone snickered.

Flash texted his mother that he hasn't heard from her or his father in days.

Everyone looked at Flash sadly. Tony felt bad for the kid, even though he was kind of an asshole.
He knew what it was like to not hear from his parents for days.

Peter looked at Flash in surprise.

Peter looked at MJ and asked if she was texting, and then said that was wrong. He looked at
Ned and Betty texting that they miss each other when they were sitting next to each other.
Peter made a face.

Peter made the same face as his on-screen self as everyone else snickered.

"What the hell?" muttered Sam.

"Teenagers are so weird," said Rhodey.

The bus pulled up at a rest stop. Everyone exited the bus. Peter went to follow them when he
was stopped by Dimitri, who gestured to a building where a woman was waiting for him.

Tony groaned. "Let the kid enjoy his vacation!"

Peter cautiously entered the room and greeted the woman. The woman told Peter to close the
door and take off his clothes.

Everyone raised their eyebrows.

"Excuse me, what?" said Tony.

"Excuse me?" Peter asked uncomfortably. The woman told Peter that he told Fury that
Spider-Man couldn't be seen in Europe, so she made him another suit.

Clint frowned as well. "Why can't Fury just contact Rhodey or Sam?"

"Exactly!" Tony exclaimed.

The woman insisted that Peter had to take off his clothes to try the suit on. Peter began to
pull his pants down uncomfortably.

Peter turned red and wouldn't make eye contact with anyone.

The door opened, and Brad entered.

Everyone winced. That was unfortunate.

Peter said that this isn't what it looked like, and Brad took a picture.

Steve frowned.

"What an asshole!" Tony exploded.

"Dick move," said Rhodey.

"Not cool," Scott agreed.

The woman pulled out her gun and pointed it at Brad's back as he left.

"Okay, even though Brad's an asshole, let's not shoot a child," said Rhodey.

"Where does Fury find these people," Tony snarled.

Peter told her not to shoot as he put his pants back on and went outside. "Look, Peter, I'm
not here to judge your life's choices, dude. If you wanna book up with some random
European chick on our school trip, that's on you," said Brad as Peter denied it. "I can't
pretend I didn't see what I just saw. I know you're trying to get with MJ. It's obvious. But I
like her too."

Everyone scowled.

Peter told Brad that he couldn't show MJ that photo, but Brad said he had to; MJ deserved
to know the truth.

Peter clenched his jaw. Brad couldn't ruin his plan!

Steve glared at Brad. "Brad's an asshole."

Everyone looked at him in surprise.

"Glad to see you've joined the club," said Natasha.

Mr Dell told everyone to get back on the bus as Peter looked frustrated.

"Brad's the worst," said Clint.

Everyone agreed with him.

Chapter End Notes

I honestly don't understand why Tony made Fury give Peter the EDITH glasses (even
though Tony didn't know Fury was Talos) because Happy would be a much more
logical choice??? Happy and Peter already know each other and Peter and Fury don't
know each other. Also, Fury blipped and Happy didn't so it would make much more
sense to make Happy give Peter EDITH. And Tony and Fury haven't had the best
relationship in the movies. But the writers needed a way to bring Fury into the story so
I guess that's what they did.

Everyone's joined the I Hate Brad club :)

Chapter Notes

Back on the bus, Peter looked at Brad, who was on his phone.

"Asshole," Wanda muttered.

Peter told EDITH that Brad had a photo of him. EDITH asked Peter if Brad was a target, to
which Peter answered yes.

Tony narrowed his eyes. He didn't have a good feeling about this.

"Copy that. Target is Brad Davis. Initiating strike," said EDITH.

Everyone blinked in surprise. Peter paled.

"Initiating what ?" Steve said furiously.

Peter was surprised, "Initiating what now?" "Intercept point determined. Releasing field
vehicle." The Stark Industries satellite in space released a drone into the atmosphere.

Everyone groaned, and Peter paled even more.

Steve stood up angrily. "This is just like Project Insight and Ultron! 'A suit of armour around the
world!'" he quoted. "You saw how well that turned last time!"

Tony's face turned an unhealthy shade of grey.

A note appeared that read After Thanos's snap, Tony created EDITH out of grief to make sure that
nothing like that would happen again.

Steve deflated a little bit but was still furious. "This is still wrong."

Wanda scoffed. "Why do you care? You clearly don't care about any of us since you decided to go
back to the past. You just left us."

The colour drained from Steve's face as everyone else avoided eye contact. Steve hesitantly sat
down.

And everyone coped with the Snap in their own way.

Clint paled at the reminder of what he was doing during the Blip while everyone else grimaced.

Peter pulled off the EDITH glasses in shock, "Ohmygod."

Peter felt the same emotions as his on-screen self.

Flash grabbed the glasses out of Peter's hand.

"No! Give those back to Peter!" groaned Bruce.

"Dope glasses Parker, how'd you pay for these?" Peter frantically told Flash to give the
glasses back and accidentally punched him in the face.

Everyone snickered as Peter looked at his on-screen self in surprise.

Peter stared at Flash in shock, apologized, and took the glasses back.

"You're so polite, kid," chuckled Sam.

Peter told EDITH not to kill Brad.

"Please, don't," muttered Peter.

"Peter, would you like me to cancel the drone strike on Brad Davis?" EDITH asked.

"Yes!" everyone yelled.

One of Peter's classmates asked him if he had just punched Flash, to which Peter replied,
"No."

Everyone groaned in frustration.

"Couldn't she have asked that ten seconds later?" said Clint.

EDITH said she was firing.

"Fuck!" Tony cursed and decided he wasn't going to make EDITH.

"Shit!" said Sam and Rhodey. As much as they didn't like Brad, none of them wanted to see a child
die.

Peter quickly webbed the bus wheel, causing it to swerve and a bullet from the drone to go
through the side mirror.

Everyone's hearts jumped to their throats.

The bus swerved wildly across the road, denting the side rail and nearly crashing into the
side of the mountain.

Everyone paled.

Peter called for EDITH and realized that they had fallen off.

"Shit!" Clint exclaimed. Peter was sitting at the edge of his seat, watching the screen. He didn't
want to kill Brad accidentally.

Peter quickly put them back on as EDITH was commencing a second strike.

"NO!" many people screamed.

Mr Harrington told Peter to sit down. Peter told everyone to look at the baby mountain goats.
Everyone looked outside the bus for the baby mountain goats.

"Did that distraction actually work?" Natasha asked incredulously.

Peter leapt straight through the emergency hatch at the top and webbed the drone.
"That looks cool," Scott complimented.

"Thanks!"

The drone exploded.

Everyone sighed in relief.

"I'm not going to make EDITH," Tony announced.

"Thank god," Clint muttered.

Peter dropped back down, pulling the hatch closed behind him just in time for the rest of his
class to turn back and stop searching for goats.

"I can't believe that worked!" Sam chuckled.

Peter had windswept hair.

Tony snorted.

"I know you think none of us have noticed, Peter," said Betty.

Everyone sucked in a breath. Peter's eyes widened. Did Betty know Peter was Spider-Man?

Tony buried his head in his hands and groaned. "You're awful at keeping Spider-Man a secret!"

Peter was offended. "I think I do pretty okay!"

"Kid, Ted and May found out—"

"It's Ned."

"—And you introduced yourself, by name, to Strange and Carol!"

"They weren't going to tell anyone! Both of them are on our side!"

"You had just met them."

"…"

Everyone else looked at them, amused.

Peter and Ned panicked. "But your new look? I love it." Peter thanked her and collapsed in
his seat.

"Oh," said Tony. "She didn't find out."

Peter threw his hands up in the air. "See!"

Tony rolled his eyes.

Brad scrolled through his camera roll, confused, and told MJ, "Uh, this is so weird. It was
right here on my phone."

Everyone sighed in relief.

"At least, the photo was deleted after all that," said Scott.

MJ suspiciously said, "Yeah, weird," who glanced at Peter, whose head was stuck out in the
aisle before he quickly pulled back.

Everyone let out a snort.

Flash woke up and put his hand to his cheek, exactly where Peter accidentally knocked him
out. "Ow."

Everyone chuckled.

In Prague, Czech Republic, there was a large mural commemorating Tony Stark as the bus
stopped at a hotel.

Tony looked at Peter sadly. There were reminders of him everywhere.

The group entered a fancy reception area of the hotel.

Scott let out a low whistle in appreciation. "That's fancy."

Mr Harrington told the group that they were going to the festival of lights.

"Sounds fun," said Rhodey.

Peter's phone buzzed, he walked away from the group to pick up the call. Hill told Peter to
suit up and await further instructions.

Everyone frowned at Peter being roped into all this.

Ned apologized for being preoccupied with his relationship and told Peter that he was still his
guy in the chair.

"Guy in the chair?" Clint asked, amused.

Peter scratched the back of his head. "Yeah."

Peter said it was all good. Ned asked about the status of the Elementals and where it was
going to happen. "Uh, here in the city," Peter said nervously.

Everyone scowled.

"I don't like that Fury is putting children in danger," said Steve. Tony agreed.

"Peter, we're here," said Ned.

"You shouldn't be, though!" Tony yelled. "You should be in Paris!"

Peter said he was figuring it out. Ned said that they were all counting on him.

"No pressure or anything," Tony grumbled.

Ned went back to the group where Mr Harrington was telling everyone that they had their
own rooms.
"At least, someone is enjoying this," said Wanda.

Peter stared off into the distance, worrying about the elemental. "Parker!" said Fury.

Everyone was taken aback at the quick shift.

Peter startled and turned around as it cut to a makeshift S.H.I.E.L.D. base. "That thing's
going to be here in a few hours. Are we boring you?" Fury asked.

"Probably, since he would much rather be with his friends right now," Tony said, glaring at Fury.

"He's not bored. He's just thinking about how you kidnapped him," said Beck.

"If I didn't know he was up to something, I would agree," said Tony.

Fury replied Peter had obstacles, and he removed them.

" Obstacles ?" everyone exclaimed.

Hill said that they weren't evacuating the city as Fury groaned. Fury asked Peter what the
plan was. "I will be in the cathedral tower keeping watch for the fire monster. When that
shows up, I will radio you guys, and then Mr Beck and I will—" Beck interrupted and said
his name was Mysterio and gave Peter a playful look.

Everyone scowled at Beck being friendly with Peter.

Peter smiled and said, "That's when Mysterio and I will move in."

"I hate that he made Peter feel better," said Wanda.

Mysterio told Peter that they had to end this here, right now. They had to keep it away from
civilians, but more importantly, keep it away from metal. If it got too big, it'd be able to draw
power from the Earth's core, and then there would be no way to stop it.

"How the hell is Fury believing this!" Clint exclaimed. "That sounds like bullshit!"

"Because it is bullshit," said Strange calmly.

Peter said, "Hey, man, my friends are here. And I can't help but think we're putting them in
danger—"

"Fury is!" cried Tony, Steve, and Bruce.

Fury walked over to Peter. "You're worried about us hurting your friends? You? Who called
a drone strike on your own school tour bus?"

Everyone grimaced as Peter looked pale.

"Stark gave you a multi-billion-dollar AR tactical intelligence system, and the first thing you
do with it is try and blow up your friends. It's clear to me that you were not ready for this!"

Everyone stared daggers at Fury. If looks could kill, Fury would be dead.

Tony clenched his jaw. "He's a hundred times better than Fury will ever be."
Peter turned pink.

Peter sat alone on a rooftop, and Mysterio flew up to him.

"No!" said Tony. "Get away from him!"

"Look, Fury asked me to come up here and see how you were doing. He just—he felt bad
about snapping at you."

Everyone looked at Beck incredulously.

"That's not Fury," said Clint. "That's an imposter."

Everyone rolled their eyes.

Peter asked, "Really?" Beck asked if they do have sarcasm on this Earth and then asked him
how he was feeling.

"Don't pretend you care about him, you bastard," Tony growled.

"I didn't think I was gonna have to save the world this summer. I know that makes me sound
like such a jerk. I just... I had this plan with this girl that I really like, and...now it's all
ruined," said Peter.

Everyone looked at Peter sadly.

"You're not a jerk, kid," Tony said softly. "You just want a normal life."

Mysterio sat down next to Peter. "You're not a jerk for wanting a normal life, kid."

Tony's eye twitched at saying the same thing as Beck.

"It's a hard path. You see things, you do things... Make choices. People look up to you... Even
if you win a battle sometimes, they die. I like you, Peter. You're a good kid. There's a part of
me that wants me to tell you, just... turn around, run away from all this. And then, there's
another part of me that knows what we're about to fight. What's at stake. And I'm glad
you're here."

"He's a good actor," Rhodey said. "I'll give him that."

"Me too, but—" "You're worried about your friends."

Peter sighed.

Peter said that he felt like he was always putting them in danger.

Peter nodded. He hadn't forgotten what happened at the Washington Monument.

Beck told him that all he had to do was keep them inside for a few hours. Peter told Beck
that it was really nice to have someone to talk to about superhero stuff.

Tony stilled. It was a harsh reminder that he wasn't around anymore.

Beck said, "Anytime. And hey, if we survive this, you'll have all summer to kill Brad."
Sam and Bucky snorted.

Both of them chuckled. Peter jumped down the building and activated EDITH. He told
EDITH that he needed a way to keep his friends inside for a few hours.

"Please," Peter pleaded.

The group was sitting in the hotel lobby wearing glow sticks for the Carnival of Lights.
"Good news," said Mr Harrington. "We're going to the opera!" "The opera?!" all the
students said incredulously.

Everyone chuckled.

"Poor kids," said Clint.

Ned looked at Peter, who widened his eyes and nodded. Mr Harrington told the group that
the tour company gave them the tickets for free and asked him if they knew how much Opera
tickets cost.

"Somehow, I don't think they care," said Sam.

"No, because none of us has ever wanted to go to the opera...ever," said Flash.

Everyone laughed.

Ned said that he thought it would be culturally enriching.

Clint chuckled at Ned trying to convince everyone.

Mr Harrington told everyone this would be the best four hours of the trip. "FOUR
HOURS?" Everyone yelled.

Everyone snickered.

"They would kill you if they ever found out they're going to the opera because of you," Bucky told
Peter.

The group is walking through Prague wearing formal attire while the Carnival of Lights was
occurring.

"Poor kids," said Scott. "There's a big party, and they're stuck going to the opera."

"It's for their safety, though," said Steve.

Peter and MJ were walking next to each other as Hill asked Peter if he was there over comms.
Brad looked at MJ and Peter suspiciously.

Wanda looked smug while Tony and Rhodey grinned.

The seats were barely filled in the Opera theatre with only elderly people.

Bucky, Sam, and Clint grimaced.

"Those poor, poor kids," said Sam.

"Okay, here we are. We beat the rush," said Mr Harrington. "Yeah, the rush out," Mr Dell
replied.

Everyone laughed.

Mr Harrington said that they got the best seats in the house.

"All the seats are empty," Scott said.

Brad told MJ that he'd save her a seat.

"No, he won't," Wanda growled.

MJ smiled awkwardly.

"Poor girl doesn't even want to be with him," said Natasha.

Peter perked up. "Really?"

Sam and Bucky snickered.

Natasha rolled her eyes at them. "Yeah, she doesn't like him."

Peter sighed in relief.

Peter walked to MJ slowly and told her that she looked really pretty.

"She does." Wanda gushed. "Both of you are so cute!"

Vision looked at her with a smile on his face.

"And therefore, I have value?" asked MJ.

Natasha grinned, and Peter's eyes widened.

Peter panicked and told her that's not what he meant at all. MJ said that she was messing
with him and awkwardly told Peter that he looked pretty too.

Tony, Rhodey, Sam, and Bucky snickered.

"This is so awkward," said Clint.

"It's sweet!" Wanda replied.

They were interrupted by Ned and Betty gushing over the Opera glasses. "Wanna go in on a
pair?" MJ asked.

"She likes you, kid!" said Tony with a grin.

Peter wasn't so sure.

Peter said, "You mean let's sit next to each other?" Over comms, Fury asked Peter if he was
in position.

Tony frowned at the reminder that Fury was there.

Peter replied, "No." "Okay, no—" "Why the hell not?" "—you don't want to sit next to
me?"

Everyone chuckled at the misunderstanding.

"No, he does want to sit next to you!" Wanda cried.

Peter said that he didn't mean that as he tried to fix his comm. "If you go ahead, uh, I'll go
grab us a pair," said Peter.

"Now she'll think that you ditched her," said Natasha.

Peter panicked.

MJ said that she'd save him a seat next to her, smiled at him, and walked off.

"That's adorable," said Scott.

"So cute!" said Wanda.

Peter blushed.

Over comms, Fury was calling Peter. Peter told him that he was coming.

Everyone groaned.

"Let him stay with MJ!" said Tony.

Peter told Ned that he had to go and to tell MJ that he was sick or something.

Natasha sighed. "You lie so badly; it hurts."

Ned told Peter to be careful and steer the monster away from the Opera house. Peter ran off,
and just before he left the Opera house, he looked back at Ned, Betty, and MJ. Brad stood
up, looked back at Peter, showed him the middle finger, and sat next to MJ.

Everyone growled.

"Fuck Brad!" said Tony and Rhodey.

"Brad's the worst!" Wanda cried.

Peter was angry and was about to go into the theatre again when Fury told him that he better
be on his way.

"Fury's pissing me off," Tony muttered.

Peter begrudgingly left the theatre. MJ looked back to see Peter leave and left as well.

"NO!" Everyone cried.

"She's supposed to be safe in the Opera house!" said Tony. "That's why she's there!"

Betty asked Ned if he thought MJ was going to the carnival and told him that they should go
to it while Ned was shaking his head, frustrated.
Everyone groaned.

"I can't blame them, though," said Clint. "Either stay at the boring opera or go to the carnival."

"It's a no-brainer," Scott added.

Peter was in his new suit at the top of the Cathedral Tower and told Beck he was in position.

"The all-black suit looks nice," Rhodey complimented.

Fury asked Peter how the suit was. Peter answered it was great but a little tight around the
old web-shooter.

Sam, Bucky, and Peter snickered while Tony and Natasha rolled their eyes.

Ned and Betty were walking in a crowd at the carnival. Ned told Betty that he didn't do well
with big crowds, but Betty didn't hear him and dragged him off to a ride.

Everyone grimaced.

MJ was looking around the carnival, squinting her eyes.

"She's on to something," Natasha noticed.

Ned and Betty sat in a Ferris wheel. MJ was standing in front of a fountain, which was
steaming.

"What the fuck?!" said Sam and Clint.

Tony groaned.

"Now, Ned, Betty, and MJ are all in trouble," said Steve.

Peter's eyes widened in worry, and Natasha elbowed Steve to stop. Steve looked sheepish.

Fury noted energy was spiking as Hill said there was seismic activity.

Everyone was worried for Peter, but more for Ned, Betty, and MJ.

MJ looked at the ground where the cement was breaking, magma flowing underneath.

Everyone's eyes widened.

Everyone screamed and ran away as the statue exploded, revealing the Fire Elemental.

"Shit!" yelled Bucky, Sam, and Rhodey.

Scott's jaw dropped. "That thing is so much bigger than the rock and water one."

Peter's heart was beating incredibly fast. Ned, Betty, and MJ were all in danger.

Scott looked at the Fire Elemental, shocked. "Are you sure that's an illusion?" he asked Tony. "It
looks pretty real to me."

Tony's heart jumped to his throat. "If Beck's using BARF to make this, then yes, they're fake. But
if he's not using the tech, then I don't know how Beck's doing this."
Peter told Beck the Fire Elemental was here. The Fire Elemental smashed a police car and
grew.

"Holy shit!" said Clint.

Ned and Betty were trapped at the top of the Ferris wheel.

"Oh no!" cried Wanda.

"That's the worst place to be stuck!" yelled Rhodey.

The Fire Elemental smashed structures as Mysterio arrived and told Peter he was up.

Tony clenched his jaw at the sight of Mysterio.

Peter shot a web at a fire hydrant as Beck shot two green laser beams from his hands at the
Fire Elemental.

Strange looked at the laser beams closely. How was Beck making them? It clearly wasn't Eldritch
magic.

"Why does that look like something Strange would do?" asked Tony.

"Because that is something I would do, and he's a fake," said Strange.

That didn't make anyone feel better.

Peter pulled the fire hydrant that released a high-pressure jet of water from the ground at
the Fire Elemental. The Fire Elemental roared and was enveloped in steam.

"Smart!" said Bruce.

Peter beamed.

Betty asked if that was Spider-Man.

Everyone groaned, and Peter buried his face in his hands.

"So much for Spider-Man not being seen in Europe," Tony huffed. "Brilliant plan, Fury."

Natasha agreed. Fury was acting weird.

Ned frantically denied it and said it was a European rip-off version of him and read about
him the other day.

Everyone chuckled.

"Your friend is sweet," said Wanda.

The Fire Elemental charged towards Peter and tried to punch him, but Peter flipped to the
carousel, and the Elemental hit the wall instead. The Fire Elemental destroyed the carousel,
sending Peter to the ground.

Everyone sucked in a breath.

The Fire Elemental held the destroyed metallic pieces from the carousel.

"Shit!" said Bucky. "Didn't Beck say that the fire monster can't touch metal or he'll grow?"

Everyone's eyes widened.

Betty asked Ned what European Spider-Man's name was. "Uh-uh... It's N-Night... Night
Monkey," said Ned.

Everyone roared with laughter.

"Night Monkey!" Peter chuckled.

Betty cried out for Night Monkey to save them.

Everyone snorted.

Peter looked up to see Betty and Ned.

"Aw, on-screen Peter must be so worried to see his friends there," said Wanda.

"So am I!" Peter exclaimed.

The significantly larger Fire Elemental roared.

Everyone's hearts jumped to their throats.

"I miss when the world was normal," said Rhodey.

Peter used his web-shooters and shot the Fire Elemental. However, the webs caught fire, and
the fire moved down the web toward Peter.

Sam and Bucky snickered as everyone else looked at Peter blankly. Peter was sheepish.

"What did you think that was going to do?!" said Tony.

"I don't know!"

The Fire Elemental walked toward Peter's direction and was about to smash him with its
enormous hand when suddenly Beck came in the nick of time to protect Peter by creating a
green energy dome. The Fire Elemental tried to damage the green force field.

Everyone sighed in relief, but Natasha narrowed her eyes at Beck. He clearly wasn't up to any
good, but she didn't know why he was there.

Tony grimaced at Beck saving Peter. He didn't trust Beck at all.

Peter said that they had to hit him with something he couldn't absorb. The two split up, and
Peter launched a large rock at the Fire Elemental, which hurt it.

"Yes!" many people cheered.

Beck told Peter to keep it coming. Peter used his webs to grab another debris of concrete and
threw it at the Fire Elemental. Beck fired at the debris that was stuck in the chest of the Fire
Elemental.
Everyone applauded.

Fury and Hill were driving to the scene.

"Nice of them to finally join," Tony huffed. He wasn't very pleased with Fury and Hill at the
moment.

The Fire Elemental roared and smashed the ground. The ground cracked and travelled to the
Ferris wheel, which slightly tipped the Ferris wheel.

Everyone sucked in a breath. Peter clutched his head in worry.

Ned and Betty were screaming.

Everyone winced while Peter was panicking.

The Fire Elemental noticed them and moved towards them when Beck flew between and
blasted green lasers that pushed it back a little.

"Well, even though he's shady, at least he's doing something to the fire monster," said Scott.

Peter ran toward the Ferris wheel and shot a web at an invisible object.

Everyone furrowed their eyebrows.

"Did…Did you guys see the same thing I did?" Rhodey asked.

"Yeah," Sam replied, confused.

"What was that?" asked Clint.

Everyone shrugged.

Peter pulled it, and it flew behind him into an alleyway where MJ was hiding.

"What is she doing there?!" Peter exclaimed. "She should be far away!"

The Ferris wheel continued to tip as Ned and Betty screamed.

Everyone's hearts were beating fast in fear for Ned and Betty.

Fury and Hill arrived as Peter balanced the Ferris wheel.

Everyone sighed in relief at Peter balancing the Ferris wheel.

"Great job, kid," Sam complimented.

The Fire Elemental backed up into scaffolding, which it absorbed.

Everyone groaned.

Rhodey threw his hands in the air. "Great, more metal! That thing will grow even bigger now!"

Beck shot laser beams at the Fire Elemental, but it was too large to stop. Hill looked at it in
fear and said, "It's too late."
"Shit!" cried Scott.

Beck told Peter he was glad they met. Peter asked what he was doing, and he replied, "What
I should've done last time," as he summoned all his power and charged at the Fire
Elemental.

Everyone looked at Beck, unimpressed.

Tony rolled his eyes. "He couldn't have done that in the beginning?"

The Fire Elemental collapsed, disintegrating.

"Thank god, the Fire Elemental is gone," said Bruce.

Peter witnessed Beck lying on the ground, face down. He dropped down from the Ferris
wheel and ran toward him.

"I hope Beck stays down," Tony muttered.

Peter turned Beck over, who was still breathing. He helped Beck get off the ground.

Tony huffed.

Betty and Ned were still on the Ferris wheel as she said, "I would totally kiss you, but I think
I just threw up in my mouth a little." Ned said that he might have a mint.

Everyone chuckled.

Back on the ground, Peter, Beck, Hill, and Fury were sitting in the rubble. Hill asked if it was
over, and Beck said that was the last of them.

"Something isn't right," said Natasha.

"And it has to do with Beck," Tony added.

"But not the last threat we'll ever face. We need to stay vigilant. There's a void in this world
for someone like you. Hill and I are going to Europol headquarters in Berlin tomorrow. You
should join us," said Fury. Beck said that he might take him up on that.

"That's the last place Beck should be!" Tony grumbled.

"You got gifts, Parker. But you didn't wanna be here," Fury told Peter.

"Of course, he didn't want to be there," Tony spat out. "He was on vacation!"

"I'd love to have you in Berlin, too. But you've got to decide whether you're going to step up
or not. Stark chose you. He made you an Avenger. I need that. The world needs that. Maybe
Stark was wrong. Was he?" Fury walked away.

Tony was furious. "I wasn't wrong," he said with a clenched jaw. "Kid's going to be better than any
of us one day."

Peter turned a brilliant shade of red as everyone else agreed.

"Let's get a drink," said Beck. "I'm not twenty-one."

"Drinking age is eighteen in Europe," Natasha pointed out.

Tony shook his head and firmly said, "Doesn't matter. He's sixteen."

Everyone looked at Tony in amusement.

Rhodey snorted. "Peter didn't care at Christmas."

"I was curious!" Peter protested. "It was an experiment!"

Tony rolled his eyes while Rhodey snickered.

"Besides, you're the one who's always telling me to do normal teenager things," Peter told Tony.
"So, I just did what you said!"

Tony raised his eyebrows.

Peter winced and said, "I shouldn't have said that."

"Obviously."

Chapter End Notes

So, I really don't like EDITH. It's Tony's second-worst idea (his first is Ultron), which
is basically Project Insight. What's the difference between three giant helicarriers
pointing a gun to everyone's heads compared to drones being in space pointing a gun
to everyone's heads? Absolutely none. How did Tony think that was okay?

In a packed bar, Beck held a bottle of beer in his hand and Peter drank juice from a straw.

Sam, Bucky, and Tony snorted at seeing Peter drink juice at a bar.

Beck patted Peter on the shoulder and told him to celebrate. Peter told Beck that Fury was
right. Tony did a lot for him so he owed it to him…to everybody.

"You don't owe me anything, kid," said Tony. "I just want the best for you."

"Do you?" Beck asked. "Yeah! I mean... Mr Stark gave me the chance to be more, he wanted
me to be better than him, and Fury just wants me to live up to that," said Peter.

"Yeah, but Fury can also not contact you on vacation," Tony grumbled.

Beck asked Peter what he wanted. Peter said that he didn't know. " What do you want, you,
Peter Parker, right now? I know you're thinking about it! What do—" "I wanna go on my
trip, right? I wanna go back on my trip, with my friends. I wanna go to the top of the Eiffel
Tower with the girl who I like and tell her how I really feel, and... give her a kiss!"

Wanda grinned.

Everyone else snickered as Peter's face turned a brilliant shade of red.

Tony put an arm around Peter's shoulder. "I'm so proud."

"Ooh!" said Beck. Peter told him to shut up.

Tony scowled at seeing Peter smiling with Beck.

"But you're not gonna do that, are you?" Beck asked. Peter said he can't because he has too
much of a responsibility.

Everyone looked at Peter with sympathy. All of them knew what he was feeling.

A local at the bar picked up the EDITH glasses from the floor and handed them to Peter.

Peter looked taken aback at his on-screen self leaving incredibly dangerous technology on the
floor.

Tony grimaced.

Beck blinked in shock and told Peter to try them on. Peter put it on and said that he actually
really likes them.

"You look good in them, kid," Tony complimented.

Rhodey snorted. "You only like it because Peter looks like you with the glasses."
Tony shrugged and grinned. "What can I say, I've got style."

Everyone rolled their eyes.

Beck said that they look really stupid.

Natasha glared at Beck. "No, they don't!"

"Oh," said Peter. Peter took off the glasses and told Beck to try them on.

Peter groaned as everyone else looked at Peter in horror. That wasn't a good idea.

"NO!" yelled Tony. "Don't let him do that!"

Beck said he didn't want to try them on but Peter insisted.

"Please, no," muttered Tony, while Peter cursed his on-screen self's stupidity.

Beck put on the EDITH glasses and asked Peter what he thought.

"Shit, Beck looks like Tony," said Clint.

Steve scowled. "I think that's what he's going for."

Wanda frowned. Beck was an asshole for trying to manipulate Peter like this.

Peter stared at Beck for a long time, deep in thought. "To the next Tony Stark, I trust you...
To the next Tony Stark, I trust you," he muttered to himself.

Tony stiffened. "What are you doing?"

"I don't know," said Peter, looking at the screen with wide eyes. He hoped he didn't make a
dumbass decision.

"What?" asked Beck. Peter explained that Tony left him that message with the glasses. Beck
said he wasn't following.

"I'm not either," Tony muttered.

"He knew every mistake I ever made, okay? So, he must've known I was not ready for
something like this."

"No. You are ready!" Tony shook his head. "But it doesn't matter now because I'm not creating
EDITH."

Beck asked why Tony would give him the glasses then.

"Because you're the best of us, kid," Tony said. "Please don't do what I think you're going to do."

Peter's face was an unhealthy shade of grey.

Everyone looked at Tony and Peter carefully.

"Because maybe he didn't trust me to have EDITH, he just trusted me to pick who should. It
makes so much more sense; he always knew I would do what's right and he's not gonna give
them to Fury because Fury would just give himself EDITH."

"That's not what I mean!" Tony threw his hands in the air. "I wanted you to have the glasses
because I trust you!"

Peter was pale watching himself on the screen.

Beck said he was right about that.

"No one needs Fury with EDITH," said Tony.

"No one needs EDITH at all," Steve snapped.

Tony clenched his jaw. "I know. I already said I wasn't going to make EDITH."

"Right, so, the world needs the next Iron Man... and it's not gonna be me!"

"No, it's not. The world doesn't need another Iron Man," said Tony, and told Peter, "I told you.
Spider-Man is much better."

Peter blushed.

"I mean, I'm a sixteen-year-old kid from Queens. It needs to be an adult with some
experience and that's good like Tony Stark, like you."

"No! Just keep the glasses," Tony pleaded. "They're for you!"

Everyone else looked at the screen like they were about to witness a train wreck.

Beck took off the glasses and said no.

Everyone furrowed their eyebrows.

"Wait, what?" said Bruce.

"What is he playing at?" asked Clint.

Peter took the glasses and told EDITH to transfer control to Beck.

Everyone groaned.

Peter looked like he was about to throw up. "I gave EDITH to him so easily," he said weakly.

Tony sighed. "You didn't know, kid. Beck was manipulating you. If I didn't already know him and
if Strange wasn't here, most of us would have bought it."

"It's not your fault, Peter," Wanda said softly. "Stark is right. Beck was manipulating you."

Beck asked what he was doing and told him Stark gave him those glasses. "I'm doing the
right thing," said Peter.

"No, you’re not!" Peter yelled at his on-screen self.

"Stark gave me a choice! It's my choice to make, okay? And I'm gonna make it. Look, you're
a soldier, a leader, you stopped the Elementals, you saved my life, you saved the world!
Okay? He'd want you to have them."

"No, I wouldn't," Tony muttered.

EDITH was waiting for confirmation and Peter confirmed.

Peter buried his head in his hands. How could he be so stupid!

Everyone grimaced. They all knew this wasn't going to end well.

Peter took off the glasses, handed them to Beck, and said, "Welcome to the Avengers."

Sam scowled. "If Beck's in the Avengers, I'm leaving."

Everyone agreed with Sam.

Beck put on the glasses and said it was an honour.

Everyone cursed Beck.

Peter stood up to leave and said Mr Stark would have really liked him.

"No, I wouldn't have!" Tony cried.

Beck asked him where he was headed. Peter said he was going to find MJ.

Wanda perked up. "Now you can continue your plan!"

Beck wished him good luck and said Peter had a 50/50 chance since he was pretty awkward.

Tony frowned. "I think Pete has a 100% chance."

Peter laughed, said goodbye, and left.

Peter's eye twitched. He knew fucked up big this time. Bigger than the ferry.

As Peter left the bar, objects and people started to gradually disappear, revealed to be
holograms.

Everyone's jaw dropped.

"Shit!" Tony yelled. "He was using BARF!"

Beck started to smile and said, " See? That wasn't so hard."

Peter felt worse at hearing this.

"What an asshole," said Bucky.

The people who hadn't vanished also cheered.

"Great, there's a whole group helping him," Clint said sarcastically.

Tony looked at the screen closely. Some of those people looked familiar.

"Somebody get this stupid costume off me!" Beck yelled. Outside, Peter walked past a
memorial for Tony Stark, smiling as he was convinced he did the right thing.

Peter buried his head in his hands at seeing this. Everyone looked at him sympathetically.

"Poor Peter," said Wanda.

At the bar, Beck gave the glasses to his associate telling her to connect EDITH to their system
as everyone else cheered for a toast.

Bucky frowned. "What's he planning now?"

Beck jumped on the counter and toasted the man that brought them all together, their
former boss, Tony Stark.

Tony was taken aback. That's why some of them looked familiar!

"Wait, what?" asked Clint. "They work for you?"

"I guess. Some of them look familiar," Tony answered and looked at the screen closer.

All of them booed.

"I know him," Tony pointed to Riva. "He used to work with Stane. That's why I fired him."

Rhodey sucked in a breath.

"The jester king. Literally wrapped in wealth and technology that he was unfit to wield."

Tony's eye twitched.

"Like the holographic system I designed. A revolutionary breakthrough with limitless

applications that Tony turned into a self-therapy machine and renamed—" There was a
flashback of Tony at MIT in 2016 using the same holographic technology. "Binarily
Augmented Retro-Framing, or BARF." Beck was standing behind Tony with a displeased
look on his face.

Tony scowled. He remembered that day vividly.

Everyone else watched the screen with wide eyes.

Back at the bar, Beck said, "I told him that it was a mistake. That my technology can change
the world."

"Which is why I fired you!" Tony shouted.

"And then... He fired me. Said I was... unstable."

"Wonder why," Sam said sarcastically.

Beck raised his bottle, "To Tony!" "Next, to William."

Tony clenched his jaw.

There was a flashback to 2008 where Obadiah Stane was yelling at William Riva saying,
"Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave! With a box of scraps!"
Rhodey and Tony's hearts jumped into their throat at the sight of Stane.

"That's why I fired him," Tony spat out. "Riva was working with the person who was double-
dealing and also tried to kill me."

Peter looked shocked and then looked at Stane with wide eyes.

Back at the bar, Beck said, "The integration of my illusion tech, with your weaponized
drones, was brilliant. Powerful illusions, real damage, worked like a charm. And it's just the
beginning."

Tony glared at all of them.

"Drones," said Natasha in realization. "That's how the Elementals damaged the buildings."

"To Guterman. The story you created of a soldier from another earth named Quentin
fighting space monsters in Europe is totally ridiculous! And apparently exactly the kind of
thing people will believe right now! I mean, everybody bought it!"

"Well yeah," said Bucky. "Half of the world just died and came back because of six magical
stones. The multiverse isn't so far-fetched."

"He has a point," Sam said.

"To Victoria! Staging electromagnetic pulses at each attack site so Fury's own satellites
would confirm our lies? Inspired idea."

"Oh," Rhodey realized. "That's why Fury bought it."

Natasha was still unsure. Something wasn't right here.

"To Janice! After Tony died, she was the one who discovered that EDITH was being handed
over — not to us, not to the Defence Department, but to a child."

Tony snorted. "Why would I hand EDITH to you or the Defence Department. Those are the last
people I would hand over my tech to." He frowned. "And that child is better than all of you."

"And to the rest of you, Tony Stark is gone. There is a window of opportunity and someone
will step up. But these days, you can be the smartest guy in the room, the most qualified, and
no one cares. Unless you're flying around with a cape, or shooting lasers from your hands, no
one will even listen."

Clint laughed. "He means that no one would listen to him."

"Who would want to?" asked Sam.

"Well... I've got a cape. And lasers. With our technology, and with EDITH, Mysterio will be
the greatest hero on Earth!"

Everyone rolled their eyes.

Everyone cheered. "And everyone will listen! Not to a boozy man-child!"

Tony scoffed.
"Not to a hormonal teenager! To me! And to my very wealthy crew! To us." Beck lifted his
bottle again. "To Mysterio!"

Everyone booed.

"To Peter Parker!" Beck muttered, "Poor kid," and told everyone to get to work.

"This is going to end well," muttered Sam.

Back at the hotel, Peter ran up the stairs as Ned hugged him in his bathrobe. Peter happily
said he was done with the mission.

Peter groaned. He wasn't done with the mission yet.

Ned told him that the trip was over as their parents wanted them home because there were
monsters everywhere they went.

Scott grimaced. "Yeah, I can see why."

Mr Harrington came out of the hotel room, happy to see that Peter wasn't dead. He told Ned
to put some clothes on and that they were booking flights.

Everyone sighed. They felt bad that Peter didn't even get the vacation he wanted.

"We came for science we're leaving because of witches. Welcome to the new Dark Ages," Mr
Dell told them. Peter asked Ned what was going on. Ned said that they were going home.
Peter said that all the Elementals were gone.

"But I have something much worse left," mumbled Peter.

Betty called Ned and he went to her. Flash came out of his room and told them to keep it
down since he was live-streaming.

Everyone snorted.

MJ opened her door and greeted Peter.

Everyone smirked at Peter.

MJ asked where Peter was. Peter said that he got lost.

Natasha sighed. What an awful liar.

MJ said that they were worried about him and it was a good thing he was back.

"MJ said she was worried about you!" Wanda grinned.

"So much for Paris, right?" MJ said. "Would've been fun."

"Yeah, it would have," Tony grinned. "Someone would have really enjoyed the Eiffel Tower."

Peter rolled his eyes while everyone else chuckled.

MJ said goodnight and closed the door before Peter could finish saying that she looked nice.
Everyone snickered.

Peter mustered up the courage to go toward MJ's hotel room door and before he could
knock, MJ opened the door. "Uh... Look, um...I'm not ready for this trip to be over yet, and I
kind of want to do something fun that's not on the itinerary or planned or with Mr
Harrington."

"Ooh, that's cute," Wanda gushed.

"You should give her the necklace now," advised Tony.

Peter blushed.

"Yes." "'Yes,' like you wanna go?" "Yes."

Everyone smiled at Peter. At least this was working out.

Peter smiled and said he would meet her outside in ten minutes. MJ said to meet her outside
in five minutes.

"I think you got a shot, kid!" said Tony.

Peter smiled.

Peter said bye and skipped away.

"That's adorable," said Wanda.

Peter smiled as he watched a Czech news broadcast of Mysterio and Spider-Man's battle
with the Fire Elemental in Prague. The screen said 'Mysterio and Night Monkey in Prague'.

Everyone was howling with laughter.

Sam wiped a tear from his eye. "I can't believe they ran with Night Monkey."

MJ came out of the elevator and the two left the hotel giddily smiling as Brad looked at them.

"Hah!" cackled Tony at seeing Brad looking at Peter and MJ.

Wanda beamed at seeing MJ and Peter together.

Peter and MJ were walking on Charles Bridge.

"That's Charles Bridge," Natasha laughed. "Peter was googling that before."

"You know they used to execute people on this bridge."

Everyone blinked in surprise.

"That's a great conversation starter," said Sam.

Peter smiled. It was very MJ.

"They would like put them in a basket and they would, like, drown them in water. Sorry,"
said MJ.
"Aw, she's nervous," said Wanda.

Peter said it was okay as their hands were awkwardly swinging by each other.

"Hold her hand, kid!" Tony yelled.

Wanda nodded in agreement and sent Peter a thumbs up.

Peter's face turned a funny shade of pink.

Both of them put their hands away.

Tony and Wanda sighed in disappointment.

Peter told MJ that there was a thing that he's been wanting to talk to her about for a while.

Tony and Wanda were bouncing in their seats in excitement while everyone sent them amused
looks.

They stopped walking. "Yeah?" MJ said. "It's our last night in Europe and I had this plan
that I wanted to tell you," Peter said as he brought out the Black Dahlia necklace.

"The necklace," Wanda squealed.

Peter's heart was racing. What if MJ said no?

"I'm just gonna...I'm just gonna tell you. Uh... MJ I—"

The room was silent as everyone was paying attention to MJ and Peter waiting to see what would
happen.

Peter's heart jumped into his throat.

"—am Spider-Man."

Tony and Wanda stopped bouncing in their seats. That was not what they were expecting to
happen.

Peter's jaw dropped and nearly stopped breathing. He just stared at the screen in shock.

Everyone else blinked in surprise.

Peter was shocked.

Peter had the same expression as his on-screen self.

"What?" "That's what you were gonna say that you're Spider-Man."

Tony groaned. "Kid, I told you that you were horrible at keeping secrets."

Peter didn't answer because he was too busy staring at the screen, speechless.

"No. I'm not Spider-Man," Peter denied.

"Shit, he's so bad at lying I have to teach him," Natasha muttered.

MJ said she's been watching him for a while now. It was kind of obvious.

Tony facepalmed. Peter turned pale.

"Look on the bright side," said Steve. "At least it's someone you already trust."

Peter denied he was Spider-Man and asked her why she would think he was.

Tony groaned. This was awful.

"Peter, Washington?"

Peter and Tony cursed.

Wanda looked impressed though. "She's very smart."

"Yeah?" "The fact that you like disappear, out of nowhere, for no reason."

Tony shot Peter a look. Peter groaned.

"No, that was, I was sick. Remember, I had my... the tummy?"

Everyone snickered at Peter's bad lying attempt.

"You know Susan Yang thinks that you're a male escort."

Tony and Rhodey blinked in surprise, Peter's jaw dropped, and Bucky and Sam howled with
laughter.

"That is the best thing I've heard," Sam said. Bucky, still laughing, clutched his stomach and
nodded.

"What? No, of course, I'm not a male escort!"

"Obviously, he's not," Tony said firmly.

"Well, then you're Spider-Man."

Bucky snorted. "Because that's the only other option."

Sam snickered.

Peter denied he was. "What about tonight? You snuck off and fought that thing. I saw you,"
said MJ.

"What the hell," said Tony. "Everyone saw Peter in at the Carnival. Fury's suit did nothing."

Peter grimaced. Three people had found out he was Spider-Man besides all of the Avengers and
other super-hero related people. Then he realized who else knew he was Spider-Man and nearly
stopped breathing.

"Beck," Peter said as he paled.

"What?" asked Clint.

"Beck also knows I'm Spider-Man."

The room fell silent.

"Fuck," yelled Tony.

"You can't have seen me because I'm not Spider-Man and also on the news it was the Night
Monkey."

Everyone snorted.

"The Night Monkey?" MJ said incredulously.

"She's not going to believe that, kid," said Rhodey.

"Yeah, I'm getting that," Peter answered.

"Yeah. That's what it said on the news... and the news never lies."

Everyone snorted.

MJ scoffed. "Night Monkey. Okay." She took off her backpack and unzipped it as Peter
asked what she was doing. MJ reached inside her backpack and brought out an object with
spider webs on it.

"Wait, isn't that the invisible thing we saw at the Carnival?" Scott pointed out.

Everyone's eyes widened.

"Holy shit, it is!" Peter exclaimed.

Tony smacked his head. "That was the illusion tech."

"Well, do the Night Monkey and Spider-Man use the same webs?"

"Shit," mumbled Tony.

Peter swallowed nervously. "Maybe he's a spider monkey, who knows?"

"Spider monkey," Clint laughed.

Peter looked down at his feet. "Were you only watching me because you thought I was
Spider-Man?"

"No!" Wanda denied. "She really likes you. I can tell."

Tony agreed with her.

"Yeah. Why else would I be watching you?" MJ said anxiously.

Peter's face fell.

"Trust me, she's lying," reassured Wanda.

Peter had a sad look on his face.

"Jesus, that face," said Sam. "It's like you kicked a puppy."
"Doesn't matter. Just thought that maybe—" The projector went off, MJ dropped it, and
both of them jumped back as it briefly showed the Air Elemental.

"God, that looks so real," said Clint.

Peter and MJ are both shocked and frightened. Peter moved cautiously to pick up the
projector. It was still flickering. MJ asked if it was a projector.

"That's exactly what that is," Tony said angrily.

Peter said, "Yeah but it's... really advanced." "It looked so real." "Yeah, really real."

"It's insane," said Scott.

"Wait a minute does that mean that—" "—The Elementals are fake? But that doesn't make
any sense because we were there, right?"

"Great, you just exposed yourself," said Natasha.

"There was fire and destruction and... who would do something like that?"

"Beck," everyone growled.

The projector went off again showing the Air Elemental, but this time Mysterio fighting it.

Everyone glared at Beck.

Peter realized what Beck had done and how badly he messed up. "I am Spider-Man."

Tony sighed. At least he was saying this to MJ.

"And I really messed up."

"I did," Peter groaned. "I missed up so badly."

"Wait, you're being serious right now?" said MJ.

"Unfortunately, yes," Tony grumbled.

Peter nodded. MJ continued, "You're not joking with me like you're a hundred percent
serious 'cause it's not funny." Peter said he wasn't joking. MJ said she was only sixty-seven
percent sure and asked why was he on the school trip.

Peter threw his hands in the air. "Because I wanted a vacation!"

Peter said he knew MJ had a lot of questions but they had to leave right now.

Everyone stiffened. "It isn't safe for you to be out," said Tony.

"Okay. Okay. Can't believe I figured it out!" said MJ as both of them ran back to the hotel.

Everyone chuckled quietly, worried for Peter.

"At least you don't have to lie to her," Clint pointed out.
"I never wanted to lie to her," said Peter, sighing. "It's just— How do you tell someone you're
Spider-Man?"

Everyone sent him a sympathetic look.

"Ned, May, Tony, and all of you guys found out. And in the recordings Captain Marvel and Doctor
Strange—"

"We saved half of the universe together, Peter," Strange interrupted. "I think we're beyond you
calling me that."

"Well, I told Captain Marvel and Stephen about my identity while we were fighting Thanos."

"That sounds weird, but I'll allow it," Stephen replied.

Tony shot Stephen an annoyed look. "Now, you're just copying me."

Stephen rolled his eyes.

At Mysterio's base, Mysterio was fighting a Storm Elemental, shouting, "You took
everything from me! This is for my family!"

Everyone glared at Beck.

"His lines are so cheesy," Sam said.

"And yet, Fury and Hill believe them," Tony pointed out.

Everyone that knew Fury and Hill shifted uneasily.

Several people from Mysterio's crew watched him fight as Riva was on his phone when Beck
told him to pause. Beck was wearing a motion capture suit.

"A motion capture suit?" Scott exclaimed incredulously. "Seriously?"

He told Riva to fast-forward to the end, which he did.

"This looks so weird," muttered Clint.

Bucky and Steve's eyes were wide seeing the incredibly high level of technology Beck had. The
Elementals looked so real.

Beck told Riva to pause again and said he wasn't in love with this choreography, but it'll do.

"Choreography?!" Rhodey yelled. "Is this just choreography for him?"

He also told Riva to kill image and the decloak drones.

"Shit, that's creepy," said Sam.

Beck told Riva to weaponize the drones.

"Great!" Steve threw his hands in the air. "He wants to weaponize them now."

Several drones flew towards some prop pillars, firing at them as they flew by.

"So that's how he does real damage," Scott realized.

"No one can tell the difference with the illusion tech," said Bruce.

Guilt was written all over Tony's face. Beck hated him, and now Peter was paying for it.

Beck told Riva to double the damage and then run it again.

"Double the damage," Rhodey groaned.

The image of the Elemental appeared again and punched the pillars to pieces.
Everyone paled. Those drones were very powerful.

The holographic Mysterio fired a laser at it and defeated it. Beck whooped as Riva gave him
two thumbs up.

Tony flipped Beck two birds while everyone else laughed.

Beck asked if they were on schedule. Riva said, "Oh, yeah. Uploading software hack to
EDITH network, where drones will be able to create an event big enough to cover an entire
city."

Everyone paled.

Peter buried his head in his hands. "I messed up!"

Beck praised Riva and said they needed maximum damage. Guterman pointed out that it
was going to cause a lot of casualties.

Everyone cursed Beck.

Peter groaned. He fucked up, and now innocent people were going to pay for it.

"Oh, yeah. More casualties, more coverage."

"What the fuck is wrong with this guy?!" exclaimed Clint.

Tony clenched his jaw. "A lot of things."

"I gotta cut through the static. London is a beautiful city, and it will suffer, but they can
rebuild. If I'm gonna be the next Iron Man, I need to save the world from an Avengers-level
threat," said Beck.

Tony snorted. "You'll never be the next Iron Man," he spat out.

"Jesus, this guy is insane," said Sam.

"But when its new saviour descends..." The holographic projection of Mysterio flew down
and attaches to Beck like a second skin.

Everyone blinked in surprise at how smooth the holographic projection was.

"...all those casualties will be forgotten."

Everyone scowled.

Mysterio's helmet disappeared, and Beck directed his attention to Janice, who was working
on the real Mysterio suit. He asked her if she'll be in position for a quick-change armour for
the victory lap, to which she answered, "Of course".

"Victory lap?!" exclaimed Bucky in disbelief.

"No, no. That's..." Beck's waving upper arm becomes slightly distorted.

Everyone furrowed their eyebrows in confusion.

"What's going on?" Scott asked.

"What's going on with my hand? Why is that happening?" Riva told him that one of the
drones that came back from the plaza was missing a projector.

Everyone paled. MJ and Peter had the projector.

Peter cursed. "Great! Now Beck knows the projector is missing!"

"Wait, and you're—you're telling me this, now?" Beck asked incredulously.

"I wish he never did," Tony grumbled.

Riva said it was one drone and promised the image would be perfect.

"Somehow, I don't think that's what he's worried about," said Bruce.

"That projector is evidence. It's going to tell people what we're doing and how we're doing
it."

"Thank God Peter found out, though," said Wanda.

"I am trying to fool seven billion people here, including Nick Fury, who happens to be the
most paranoid and most dangerous person on the planet."

Clint threw his hands in the air. "Which is exactly why I don't know how he's believing this!"

"And if he catches on before I've killed him, then he will put a bullet in my head."

"I hope he does," said Natasha.

"And nobody wants a bullet in their head! Right?" Beck became more and more unhinged as
he went on.

"I can see why you fired him, Tony," said Bruce.

Tony's eye twitched. There was the Beck he remembered.

Two drones flew towards Guterman and Victoria. "Right?" Beck asked. Two other drones
flew towards William, aiming at his forehead as Beck repeated, "Right?"

Everyone's eyes were wide as they stared at Beck.

"Why are they even working with him?" Scott asked, baffled.

"Because they hate me," Tony said in a flat voice.

Beck told Riva to pull up EDITH. "Hello, Quentin," EDITH greeted. Beck said he needed a
level 5 search full resource protocol for this device. A map is projected and magnified.

Tony glared at Beck using EDITH so easily.

"There. Search everything going in and out of that building." Through video footage, MJ is
shown getting the projector. She took it to the bridge and showed it to Peter.
Everyone paled, and Peter turned green. All of this was his fault. If he weren't idiotic enough to
hand EDITH to Beck, none of this would be happening, and now MJ was in danger because of
him.

"Shit," Beck cursed. He looked at Riva furiously. "You know William, one day after I've had
to kill Peter Parker because of this... I hope you remember that his blood is on your hands!"

Everyone glared at Beck.

"There's no way that'll happen," said Tony in a cold voice.

Back at the hotel, Peter frantically closed the window curtains. "I can't believe I gave Beck
those glasses! I mean, how could I be that stupid? He's probably spying on me right now or
sending a drone to come and kill me."

Everyone winced.

"That's possible," said Sam.

"Not entirely out of the realm of possibilities," Bruce added.

"You had access to killer drones?" MJ asked, astonished.

Steve sighed. "That was our reaction too."

Everyone looked at Tony, whose eye twitched. "I'm not making EDITH, all right!" he yelled.

Peter said he didn't want them, especially after he almost killed Brad.

Peter agreed with himself. He wanted nothing to do with EDITH.

"You almost killed Brad?!"

"Accidentally!" Peter cried.

Peter said he had to call Fury and tell him Beck was a fraud. Peter thought Beck tapped his
phone.

"He probably did do that," said Rhodey.

MJ asked what Peter would do, and Peter told her he had to go to Berlin and talk to Fury in
person.

"I'm not sure how helpful Fury will even be," said Natasha. "He's not acting like himself."

"It's not like I have any other options," Peter pointed out.

Peter took his shirt off in front of MJ, then stopped to stare at her, clearly embarrassed.

Everyone howled with laughter as Peter covered his face. Why did this have to happen to him?!

After a few awkward seconds, MJ turned around while Peter stripped down to his underwear
to put on the stealth suit. MJ still managed to sneak a peek.

Everyone burst into a fresh round of laughter.

"She's enjoying the view!" cackled Sam.

"That's so adorable!" said Wanda.

A blush spread across Peter's cheeks.

They noticed Ned standing in the doorway.

Everyone chuckled.

Tony lifted an eyebrow and asked, "What if that was anyone but Ned?"

Peter grimaced. He had to get better at hiding his identity.

The two share a glance - MJ impassive, Ned panicked.

Everyone snickered at Ned and MJ.

Peter zipped the Stealth Suit and lifted the eye visors. "Ah! Ned, perfect!" "The costume
looks great! For the costume party, at the... Prince's castle..." Ned said.

Everyone laughed louder at Ned's lousy attempt at lying.

"He's a good friend, though," said Steve.

Peter smiled. "Yeah, he's the best."

Peter said, "She knows. I told her."

Tony snorted. "Is that what happened?"

"Technically, I did tell her," Peter said.

"Only after she told you she knew."

MJ said Peter didn't tell her; she figured it out.

"Exactly, that's how I remember it," Tony noted.

Ned slowly started to nod. "Oh. That's cool." "Like, a long time ago," said MJ.

Tony shot Peter at look at the reminder of how bad he was at keeping his identity a secret.

"Oh," said Ned. Peter told Ned that Mysterio was a fraud.

Everyone scowled.

"A big one," muttered Bucky.

"But he—But he saved me and Betty's lives…."

"That's what he wants you to think!" Clint exclaimed.

MJ told Ned that Mysterio was faking the whole thing with illusion tech. Peter added Beck
was using hologram projectors.
"And they look so real; no one can tell the difference," Steve mumbled.

Ned said that was crazy. Peter and MJ shared a glance. Ned caught it and asked them if they
were working the case together.

"Aw, poor kid," said Sam. "He feels left out."

Peter frowned at that.

"It's been mostly me," answered MJ.

"It has, to be honest," Tony told Peter. "You never would have found that projector if it wasn't for
MJ."

"Which is why all of us like her," said Wanda with a blinding grin.

"Look, Ned, I need you to call May, get her to call Mr Harrington, say that she wanted me to
stay with family in Berlin until this all blows over, okay?" said Peter.

"Good plan," Tony complimented.

MJ was taken aback, "You guys lie with such ease." Ned smiled.

"But don't lie well," said Natasha.

Peter told them he had to go and started to jump out of the window. MJ told Peter to wait
and threw the projector.

Tony gave MJ a fond look. "Kid, what would you do without her?"

"Don't tell anyone about this, okay? Anyone who knows is in danger," said Peter.

Everyone's smiles fell off their face at the reminder.

Tony's insides twisted at the thought that it was his invention putting Peter in danger.

Peter jumped out of the window. MJ sighed. "So, you know, too. It's cool! Um. I mean, I've
known first, and I've known longer, but it's not a competition..." said Ned.

Everyone chuckled.

Peter swung onto the top of a moving train at a train station as it pulled out of the station.

"That's one way to travel," said Scott.

Sam rolled his eyes. "Please, this is coming from the man who can summon an army of ants and
travels on them too?!"

Everyone looked at Scott incredulously.

"You can do that?" said Peter with wide eyes.

"Of course, can't you summon an army of spiders?"

"No?!" Peter exclaimed and turned to Tony. "Can we—"

"No."

Peter pouted.

In Berlin, Germany, the train pulled into the station. Peter jumped off, swinging over a
crowd before landing in front of a woman. "Uh, excuse me? Do you know where—" The
woman screamed, "Nacht Monkey!" before running away.

Everyone was in fits.

"I can't believe Night Monkey is catching on!" said Rhodey, wiping the tears from his eyes.

A black Audi pulled up in front of Peter. The window rolled down to reveal Nick Fury. Fury
told Peter to get in.

Everyone felt uneasy. Something didn't feel right.

Peter got in the car, and it sped off. Inside the car, Peter took off his mask. Fury said he had a
lot of explaining to do. Peter started talking, but Fury told him to wait until they were secure.
Fury cleared his throat and made a slashing motion across his chest, indicating Peter to put
his seatbelt on.

Everyone chuckled.

Peter tugged on the seatbelt but found that it was stuck. Peter tugged on the strap so hard
that it finally breaks off. Peter nervously looked over at Fury, who gave him a disappointed
look and turned his eye back to the road.

Everyone laughed as Peter blushed slightly.

The car pulled into the garage of a building. Fury and Peter walked inside the facility and
into a conference room that Hill was in. "So, is there anything you want to tell us about your
girlfriend?" Fury asked.

Everyone blinked in surprise.

"Fury is asking about people's love lives now?" Clint said in disbelief.

Maria said he was talking about EDITH.

"Oh, that makes much more sense."

Everyone snorted.

"Look, I know I made a mistake, and I'm sorry, but he is not who you think he is. Beck is a
liar. Mysterio, the Elementals, it's all fake. He has some sort of illusion tech, and that's how
he tricked you guys, and he tricked me into giving him EDITH," said Peter.

"Good, keep it simple."

Peter pulled out the projector and slid it across the table. "It's a projector. I pulled it off the
fire monster in Prague." "So, all that death and destruction we witnessed was caused by
this?" Fury asked.
"Seems a little unbelievable, doesn't it?" said Sam.

Peter said Beck was also using drones.

"Unfortunately."

"Well, if this is true, then Beck's very dangerous, and we need to be smart. Who else did you
tell about this?" Fury said.

Everyone narrowed their eyes.

"I don't think you should tell him," said Steve.

"He's been suspicious the entire time," Tony agreed.

Peter sensed something.

"Peter tingle?" asked Scott.

Peter groaned. "Don't call it that."

Hill asked what was wrong, and Peter said, "It's Beck. He's here."

Everyone sucked in a breath.

Peter put his eyepiece back as the hologram started to disappear, including Maria Hill. The
facility is revealed to be an abandoned building.

Everyone's eyes widened, and they stared at the screen in horror.

"Wait, what?" Rhodey exclaimed.

Bucky and Sam dropped their jaws. "What the fuck!"

"What? Hill?" Fury asked, shocked.

Clint and Natasha furrowed their eyebrows.

"No way Fury didn't know Hill was an illusion," said Clint.

Natasha agreed.

Peter started to say it was just an illusion when a shot is fired behind Peter. It hit Fury,
seemingly killing him.

Everyone sucked in a breath. Everyone who knew Fury was pale. Was he really dead this time?

The drone shot Peter, who blasted Peter through the back wall, causing him to fall several
floors down.

"NO!" Tony, Wanda, and Stephen yelled. Peter gaped at the screen in disbelief.

Tony's heart twisted. His future self made EDITH and the drones to protect his family, and now it
was being used against Peter.

It was as ironic as his own weapon injuring him.

Peter is surrounded by drones, all pointing lasers at him.

Everyone was deathly pale, extremely worried for Peter.

"Wow, Peter. Wow. I thought we were close. Fury always had to die. But not you," said
Beck, although he was nowhere to be found.

Everyone glared at the screen at the sound of Beck's voice.

Peter shouted for Beck to stop hiding. "I tried to help you walk away. Now you're making me
do this," said Beck.

"He's not making you do anything!" Bucky shouted.

The drones activated and created another illusion. Everything went dark. Peter was now in
the Stark suit. Lights fell, revealing a school corridor covered in green smoke. Mysterio
walked towards him.

Everyone looked at the screen, stunned.

"What the hell is going on?" said Scott.

"You told me you were just a kid."

Everyone yelled, "He is!"

Peter shot a web, but only green smoke came out of his hands.

Peter's jaw dropped. "What the fuck."

Everyone else was in a similar state.

Mysterio is suddenly behind him.

Scott, Bruce, and Peter jumped.

"You told me—" Peter punched Mysterio's head, only to reveal that it's a brick pillar.

Everyone winced.

"That got to hurt," said Bruce.

"— you wanted to run after that girl."

"It was what he wanted to do!" Tony spat out. "And that's what he would have done if you hadn't
kept getting in the way."

MJ screamed for help.

Everyone's hearts jumped to their throats at the sound of MJ's voice.

Peter clutched his head and kept muttering, "It's an illusion. She's safe."

Peter ran through a door, but then he's suddenly on top of the Eiffel Tower. The door broke
and fell. Peter looked to his right and sees MJ, confused and scared. "Peter? What's going
on?"

Everyone flinched. All of them knew this was an illusion, but they didn't like that MJ was scared.

Peter shouted he knew it wasn't real. Mysterio suddenly appeared, grabbing MJ by the neck.
"Do you, though?" Mysterio asked.

"Let go of her!" Peter shouted.

Mysterio threw MJ off the building. Peter dove after her. The illusion disappeared as Peter
hit the floor.

Everyone grimaced. That had to hurt.

"I don't think you know what's real, Peter." Several buildings passed by Peter at a fast
speed.

Bucky stared at the screen. "What the fuck is happening?"

"None of us know," Sam replied.

One of the buildings, a neon sign that said 'Queens' above it, stopped before him. Mysterio's
gigantic fist punched through it, sending Peter flying. Peter flew through the horizon, and it
shattered like glass. Peter fell through some webs, and the illusion is briefly lifted. "You need
to WAKE UP!" Mysterio yelled. Peter crashed on top of a car, now in his Stealth suit.

"Is the illusion over?" Scott croaked out.

Bruce shook his head in disbelief. "Who knows if this part is even real?"

Peter got off the car and looked around, breathing heavily.

Tony closed his eyes sadly, unable to see how his tech was affecting Peter.

A dozen drones flew out of the windows of the building, and the illusion continued.

Many people cursed.

"I thought it was over!" Scott cried.

Giant shards of glass fell, surrounding Peter, who was back in the Stark suit. Peter reached
out to touch one of his reflections. The reflection came to life, grabbing his hand.

"What is this mind-fuckery," muttered Rhodey.

Dozens of Spider-Men hurled themselves at Peter.

Everyone gaped at the screen, stunned.

"You are just a scared little kid in a sweatsuit!" The Spider-Men vanish, and Peter is now in
his homemade suit. He stood among the ruins of a Captain America statue, exactly in the
centre of the shield.

Steve glowered.
"I created Mysterio to give the world someone to believe in." Peter looked up to see a gigantic
Mysterio statue.

"That's a horrible statue," Scott growled.

"I control the truth! Mysterio is the truth!"

"No, you're not!" Tony, Stephen, and Wanda yelled.

Mysterio attacked Peter from behind and fired lasers at him. Peter ducked and grabbed
Mysterio with a web. Peter pulled, only for Mysterio to disappear as Peter had pulled a crane
down.

"Shit!" cursed Bruce.

He avoided the crane, but not the stone arm that fell on top of him while he screamed.

Everyone was clutching the arm of their seats, reminding themselves that it wasn't real; it was all
just an illusion.

The stone arm disappeared, and now Peter was standing in front of Tony's grave.

Everyone sucked in a breath while Peter and Tony turned an unhealthy shade of grey.

"Kid…" Tony trailed off.

"If you were good enough, maybe Tony would still be alive."

Everyone was seething with rage.

"What a fucking asshole!" Stephen spat out.

Peter's face contorted. Mysterio wasn't wrong. He had the gauntlet; he could've snapped!

Tony saw red. He stood up angrily, and pointed at the screen. "Shut the fuck up! I snapped because
I knew Peter would be there after me! It isn't his fault! It was my choice! I chose to snap! It's no
one's fault except mine!" And after a pause, he said, "Except maybe Thanos."

Tony sat down, heavily breathing.

Everyone stared at him with wide eyes.

Tony turned to Peter. "You got that?! It's not your fault!"

Peter looked away. It was his fault. Tony invented time travel because of him.

An Iron Man gauntlet burst out of the ground, trying to grab Peter, who recoiled in fear.

Everyone flinched in surprise.

The partially decomposed corpse of Tony Stark in an Iron Man suit crawled out of the grave
and hovered up.

Everyone looked a little green. Tony clenched his jaw.

The eye socket is zoomed in, and a spider crawled out of it. The eyes transformed into several
marching Mysterios.

"This is so trippy," said Sam.

"Deep down, you know I'm right."

Peter flinched. Mysterio was right.

"No, he's not!" Tony shouted.

One of the eyes on Mysterio's costume is zoomed in. It opened, and Peter found himself in a
gigantic snow globe.

"What the fuck?" said Clint.

Several buildings shot out of the snow surrounding him. The snow globe is revealed to be
Mysterio's head, who detached it from his body.

"What the hell," said Rhodey.

"You made your choice, and all you had to do was step aside. And now, you ha—" There was
a gunshot.

Everyone flinched.

The illusion suddenly vanished when Beck, in his motion-capture suit, fell to his knees.

"Thank god," Scott cried. "He's finally gone."

Tony, Steve, and Natasha weren't so sure. What if this was another illusion?

As Beck fell, it is revealed Fury shot him.

Everyone let out a sigh of relief. Fury was alive!

Fury limped towards Peter, who had been lying in a pile of sand. Several operatives drove
onto the scene, got out of their cars, and surrounded Beck. "Beck's people... We're trying to
find everyone who could expose him. Who'd you tell?" Fury asked Peter.

Natasha narrowed her eyes.

"I know you told someone. So, just tell me. Who did you tell?" Fury raised his voice. "Who
else did you tell?!"

"Don't talk to him like that!" Tony said.

"Just Ned and MJ from my class, and maybe Ned told his girlfriend Betty, but that's it."

Natasha let out a small groan.

Nick chuckled and shook his head. "You are so gullible."

Everyone's jaws dropped.

"Was Fury an illusion?" asked Bruce with wide eyes.

Natasha nodded.

Peter covered his face with his hands. He fucked up so many times.

"What?" "I mean, you're smart as a whip. Just a…" Now in Beck's voice, "…sucker." The
illusion was lifted, revealed Beck as Fury the entire time.

Everyone glared at Beck.

"And now all your friends have to die."

Peter turned pale. This was all his fault!

"That is not happening," Steve said firmly.

"Ohmygod!" said Peter. The two drones on Quentin's sides project a stream of illusions to
scare Peter away.

"What is he doing now?" asked Scott.

"It's easy to fool people when they're already fooling themselves. But for what it's worth,
Peter... I really am sorry."

"What?" Sam said in disbelief.

The illusion stopped. Peter, confused, gets hit by a train, which drove away into a tunnel.

Everyone was horrified.

"Did—" said Scott. "Did Peter just get hit by a train?"

Wanda clapped her hands over her mouth in shock.

Stephen and Tony were deathly pale.

Peter looked like he was about to throw up.

Bucky, Sam, Rhodey, and Steve's jaws dropped.

Natasha, Clint, Bruce, and Thor's eyes widened.

No one wanted to voice the thought everyone was thinking. Was Peter dead?

Beck told EDITH to access files from Peter's class trip. He needed them to fly home from
London.

"NO!" Peter shouted.

Peter, bruised by the impact of the train, climbed on the train's side.

Everyone let out a sigh of relief. Peter was alive.

"Peter just survived a hit by a bullet train," Bruce said in a strangled voice. "What the hell!"
Peter entered it and laid down on one of the seats before he fell unconscious.

Everyone looked at Peter, worried for him.

"I'm sorry, kid," said Tony with a crumpled face. "All of this is my fault. I made EDITH, and now
Beck is doing all of this to you."

"You were trying to protect all of us. Yeah, EDITH probably wasn't the best idea, but you're not
letting me blame you for your death, so I'm not letting you blame yourself for this."

Tony shook his head. "You're too good for this world, kid."

Chapter End Notes

The illusion scene is one of my favourite parts of the movie. It was just so well done I
loved it.

Chapter Notes

See the end of the chapter for notes

Peter woke up in a prison cell with an orange football shirt over him.

Everyone was confused why Peter was there.

He looked to his left to see Dutch football fans. "Hi," one of them said.

"At least you found nice cellmates," Sam said, confused.

Peter asked where he was. Another fan said he was in a Municipal holding facility because
they found Peter unconscious at the train yard. "Very dangerous," one of them said,
impressed.

Everyone chuckled quietly.

The third football fan told Peter they gave him the shirt because he seemed a bit cold.

"That's sweet," said Wanda.

"Thanks. You guys are nice. You speak really good English," Peter complimented. "Welcome
to the Netherlands!" all three of them said.

Everyone gaped at the screen. Peter was in the Netherlands?!

"I accidentally went to a different country?!" Peter panicked.

"I'm in the Netherlands right now?" Peter was shocked. Peter stood up and ran to the cell
door. "Guard?" "The guard's on a break. Probably talking to his wife," the first football fan
said. "Yeah. She's pregnant," the second one added. The third fan said, "Oh yeah? How
nice!" in Dutch.

Everyone snickered.

Peter broke the lock with his hand, opened the door, and left the cell.

Everyone blinked in surprise.

"That would be a shock to your cellmates," said Bucky.

Peter looks to his left to see the guard wearing the Night Monkey mask, talking to someone on
the phone. "Yeah. Yeah. Night Monkey. Yeah."

Everyone chuckled.

"I can't believe Night Monkey is catching on," Rhodey said in between laughter.

One of the football fans stood up and closed the cell door.

Everyone laughed.
Peter put the orange football shirt on, now outside at a farmer's market. He asked a farmer if
he could borrow his phone. The farmer happily handed his phone over. "Everyone's so nice
here," said Peter.

"Luckily, you woke up in the nicest town," said Tony with a weak smile. He was still recovering
from seeing Peter get hit by a train.

Peter thought about who to call for a bit before dialling a number.

Both Peter and Tony's hearts clenched. They both knew Peter would've called Tony if he was still
alive.

"Okay... Pick up, pick up, pick up... Hey. Hey! Uh... I messed up. I need a... I need a ride."

"Who did you call?" Scott asked.

"Probably Happy," Peter replied.

"Where am I? Uh... where am I, sir?" Peter asked the farmer. "Broek op Langedijk," said
the farmer.

Most people didn't understand what the farmer said.

"Did you understand that?" said Sam.

"No," Steve replied.

Peter clearly didn't understand what the farmer said and asked him to say it into the phone.

Natasha chuckled.

The farmer obliged. Peter thanked the farmer and asked the person over the phone if he got
that.

"Hopefully, Happy did," said Tony.

Peter is now walking in a tulip field. There was a roaring sound as a Stark Industries jet
appeared overhead. It landed in the tulip field.

Everyone groaned at the sight of Happy landing in the tulip field.

"Why did Happy have to land in the tulip field?" said Wanda. "Now they'll be destroyed!"

The jet door opened, and Happy walked down the stairs. "Peter? Are you okay?"

Tony shook his head. Peter was not okay. He was glad that Happy was looking out for Peter,
though. Happy was looking out for both his kids.

Peter fearfully asked Happy if that was him.

Everyone looked at Peter sympathetically. Peter couldn't trust if anything or anyone were real.

"Is it me? Yeah, of course, it's me!" Happy said, confused.

"I would be confused if I was Happy," said Clint.

Peter told Happy to stop and tell him something only he would know.

Natasha nodded in approval. "Good."

"Something only I would know. Uh. You-uh, remember when we went to Germany? You
pay-per-viewed a video in your room? They didn't list the titles, but I could tell by the price it
was an adult film at the front desk. And you didn't know how I knew—"

Everyone was howling with laughter as Peter sunk in his seat and wished for the ground to swallow
him whole.

Tony raised an eyebrow. "Did I pay for your porn?"

"Uh—"

Peter's eyes widened. "Okay! Okay! Fine, it's you, it's you, stop!"

Sam and Bucky snickered.

He limped towards Happy and threw his arms around him in a hug. "It's so good to see
you." "Peter, you're going to have to tell me what the hell is going on here," said Happy.

Everyone looked at Peter sadly.

Inside the jet, Happy is stitching up wounds on Peter's back, causing him pain. "I thought
you had super strength," said Happy. "It still hurts," said Peter and flinched.

Peter's shoulders were slumped.

"All right, relax. Just a few more... there we go." Peter yelled in pain, slammed his fist on the
table, and jumped up from his chair.

Everyone's eyes widened. They had never seen Peter like this. Granted, most of them had never
met Peter before coming to the room, but they liked the kid.

Tony's heart broke at seeing Peter like this.

"Don't tell me to relax, Happy! How can I relax when I've messed up so bad? I trusted Beck.
Right? I thought he was my friend, so I gave him the only thing that Mr Stark left behind for
me."

Tony cleared his throat. "EDITH wasn't the only thing I left for you, kid."

Peter's eyes widened. "What?"

"I'm paying for your college tuition."

Peter's jaw dropped.

"But not if you go to CalTech, though."

Rhodey agreed.

"Just kidding," Tony said.

"Columbia is also a good school," Stephen added. "It's in the city, too."

Tony scowled. "Don't say shit like that! MIT is much better."

Stephen also rolled his eyes but winked at Peter.

"And now he's going to kill my friends and half of Europe, so please do not tell me to relax."

Peter buried his face in his hands. He fucked up so badly.

Peter sat down, clearly stressed. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I shouldn't shout."

"You're so polite, kid," said Sam with a slight smile.

"I just really miss him," Peter said with slightly red eyes.

Everyone's heart tugged for Peter.

Tony frowned. He didn't like seeing how his death had affected his family.

Stephen looked away. He still felt like it was his fault, and now, because of him, Peter was
mourning the death of his mentor/father figure.

"Yeah, I miss him too," said Happy.

Tony gave a watery smile.

"Everywhere I go, I see his face."

Everyone looked at Peter sadly. They had seen all the Iron Man tributes too, and they could only
imagine how on-screen Peter felt after seeing them everywhere.

"And the whole world is asking who is going to be the next Iron Man and... I don't know if
that's me, Happy. I'm not Iron Man."

Tony sighed. "You're not Iron Man, kid. You're Spider-Man, and if you ask me, Spider-Man's a lot
better anyway."

A blush spread across Peter's cheeks.

Steve raised his eyebrows at hearing this. He knew Tony cared for Peter a lot, he had seen it in the
recordings and with Tony and Peter in the room, but hearing Tony say Spider-Man was better than
Iron Man showed how much he had changed.

"You're not Iron Man. You're never going to be Iron Man. Nobody can live up to Tony. Not
even Tony."

Tony stiffened.

"Tony was my best friend."

Tears started to well up in Tony's eyes.

"And he was a mess. He second-guessed everything he did. He was all over the place."

Tony and Rhodey let out watery chuckles.

"The one thing he did that he didn't second-guess was picking you."

Tony nodded in agreement. "Exactly."

"I don't think Tony would've done what he did... if he didn't know that you were going to be
here after he was gone."

"See, that's what I said too."

Everyone else smiled at Tony and Peter.

"Your friends are in trouble. You're all alone. The tech is missing. What are you gonna do
about it?"

"Kick his ass," Peter said firmly.

Peter stood up, determined. "I'm gonna kick his ass."

Everyone chuckled at Peter repeating himself.

"No, I mean right now. Specifically, what are we gonna do? Because we've been hovering
over a tulip field for the last fifteen minutes."

Wanda pouted. "You didn't have to park in that field."

Peter said he couldn't call his friends because Beck was tracking their phones and asked
Happy for his phone. Happy gave it to him, and Peter asked what his password was.

Tony rolled his eyes. "Happy probably has a horrible password."

"Password."

Tony gaped at the screen. "That's even worse than I thought it would be!"

Everyone else snickered.

"No, what is your password?"

Tony, Rhodey, and Natasha snorted.

"Password. The word. Spell it out, password." "You're the head of security, and that's your
password?" Peter said incredulously. Happy said he didn't feel good about it either.

"He's not the head of security," said Tony. "He's the forehead of security."

Peter and Rhodey laughed.

Peter watched Flash's live stream on Instagram, where Flash said he was in London.

"That's how you found out where your friends were?" Sam said incredulously.

Peter shrugged. "Flash live streams everything."

Happy got up to the front of the jet as Peter said he needed a suit. Happy turned with a grin
on his face. He pressed a button on the ceiling.
Tony let out a blinding grin. "Oh, you're going to like this."

Peter furrowed his eyebrows. "What?"

The back of the jet opened to form a lab.

Everyone's jaws dropped.

"You have a lab in your jet?" Scott said with wide eyes.

"Of course, you never know when you'll need it," Tony replied, and smiled at Peter. "Looks like it
came in handy, though."

Peter smiled, and he turned back toward the lab. A small metal pad descended from the
ceiling, and Peter put his hand on it.

Tony was so proud of Peter.

Blue lights appeared, and he stepped back. "Okay, um... bring up everything you have on
Spider-Man."

"There's going to be a lot," said Tony with a grin.

Holograms appeared, and Peter scrolled through them as Happy watched proudly.

Everyone had the same look on his face.

Natasha, Bruce, Rhodey, Clint, and Steve all had the same thought in his head – Peter was so much
like Tony. The best parts.

Peter turned around with a holographic web shooter when he noticed Happy watching him.
"What?"

Everyone was proud of Peter.

Happy shook his head and told Peter to take care of the suit, and he'll take care of the music.
Happy played 'Back in Black' by AC/DC.

Everyone laughed.

"Good choice," Tony said with a smirk.

Peter tossed a wrench in the air and said, "Oh, I love Led Zeppelin!"

Tony's smirk dropped as everyone else laughed louder.

"What—" said Tony. "That is not Led Zeppelin!"

Peter looked at him, confused. "Are you sure? I'm pretty sure it's Led Zeppelin."

Tony threw his hands in the air. "It's AC/DC!"

"Oh."

"You're disowned, kid."

Peter rolled his eyes. Tony could be so dramatic sometimes.

The jet took off from the tulip field, and Peter expanded the hologram of the Spider-Man suit
and asked to pull up the web-shooters. "Isolate the taser webs and reconfigure and boost the
voltage to a factor of... 25 per cent. And with complete manual control over detonation."

"Have I said how proud I am?" said Tony. "You're making a suit by yourself!"

Peter blushed. "It's only because of all the time we spent in the lab."

"Still. I'm proud of you, kid."

Peter smiled. "Thanks, Tony."

Cut to Fury and Hill.

Everyone glowered.

"Are they the real Fury and Hill?" Clint spat out.

"I thought Kree having sleeper cells was top secret information," said Fury.

Everyone was taken aback.

"Um, what?" said Rhodey. "Kree sleeper cells?"

"Wait, like the same Kree that kidnapped and brainwashed Danvers?" Natasha said with alarm.

Everyone's eyes widened.

"Shit," said Clint.

Hill told Fury that the satellites were picking up another E.M. pulse.

Everyone sighed. They all knew Mysterio was going to do something big now.

Fury sighed and said he thought that was over.

"Unfortunately, no," Bucky grumbled.

"It's the biggest one yet." "Where?" "London."

Everyone sucked in a breath. Peter's friends and classmates were in London.

Peter groaned. They would be in trouble, again!

The Midtown students were walking through an airport. "Okay guys, the company set up a
city tour, and then we'll grab a bite, then head to the airport."

"Please leave London quickly," Peter begged.

"Is no one else gonna acknowledge how crazy this is?" asked Brad.

"Shut up, Brad," Tony spat out.

Wanda crossed her arms and nodded in agreement. Steve looked at them in amusement.
Mr Dell said he got it. There was nothing scientific about this science trip at all.

Everyone snorted.

"Yeah, I didn't see any science on this trip," noted Scott.

"No, no, no. I'm talking about Peter. Has no one else here noticed how shady he is?"

Peter frowned.

Rhodey couldn't help but laugh. He could see how Peter's behaviour could be weird to someone
who didn't know Peter was Spider-Man.

"Because I saw him in a bathroom of a rest stop with some woman, in his underwear..."

Peter's breath caught. What if MJ came to a completely wrong conclusion?

Ned and MJ exchanged glances. "...and he's always sneaking away! Like back at the opera?
Huh? And now what, he's suddenly off the trip? With his family in Berlin? Is no one else
here interested in the truth?"

Tony crossed his arms. "How about you mind your own business."

"The very concept of objective truth is fading out of the world," said MJ. "George Orwell.
Thank you, MJ," said Brad.

"This kid needs to stop sucking up to MJ," said Bucky.

"Yeah, well. I mean, since Peter's not here to tell his truth, what about you, Brad? Why do
you think it's cool to take pictures of people in the bathroom?"

Everyone snickered.

"I adore MJ," said Wanda.

Peter beamed.

"Yeah, dude. What's that about?" asked Flash, who was recording on his phone.

Everyone laughed louder at Flash recording all of this.

Peter raised an eyebrow at Flash not taking the chance to bully Peter even if he wasn't there. Come
to think about it; he had been relatively okay the entire trip.

"No, no, it wasn't like that! It was—I was just trying to take—"

Sam snorted. "I think Brad needs to stop talking before he digs himself in a bigger hole."

"Let's just put all this craziness behind us and have a nice, peaceful afternoon," Mr
Harrington interrupted.

"Poor Mr Harrington," said Steve. "He just wanted a normal field trip."

Peter snorted. "We don't exactly have the greatest track record when it comes to field trips."
Bruce raised an eyebrow. "What does that mean?"

"Well, there was a kid who died on a field trip once," said Peter. The room turned deadly silent, all
of them staring at Peter.

"Mr Harrington was chaperoning that one. Then, in freshman year, I got bit by a radioactive spider
and hallucinated a spider god. In sophomore year, I accidentally blew up the Washington
Monument and nearly got my friends killed—"

"But you saved them," Tony said firmly.

"Yeah, I did, but I'm the one who put them in danger in the first place. And then in junior year,
well, you saw how the field trip to the MOMA turned out."

Everyone winced, and Tony turned pale. The less said about that trip, the better.

"And now, Beck is trying to kill my friends and me on this field trip."

Everyone grimaced.

"Damn, you really don't have a great track record with field trips," said Clint.

The rest of the class walked away, except Mr Dell and Brad. "I'm gonna be the cool teacher
right now... you've got to stop doing that, okay? It is weird. No more photos in the bathroom.
Urinal or stalls. Okay?" Brad looked defeated.

Everyone chuckled.

The rest of the group were greeted by Guterman dressed as a bus driver.

Everyone's smiles fell off their faces at the sight of Guterman.

"Shit! It's Guterman," said Scott.

Peter's heart started to beat fast in fear.

Everyone got onto the bus. Guterman pressed a button on an earpiece in his ear. "I have the
kids."

"Asshole!" yelled Bucky.

Peter clutched the arms of his seat so tightly; his knuckles turned white.

Tony sent him a worried look.

Mysterio flew around the city before hovering outside a window in front of Fury.

Everyone sneered.

"I got here as fast as I could. I did a full perimeter sweep. Nothing." "Damn it," Fury said.

Everyone rolled their eyes.

Hill told them that a pulse was spiking. Mysterio said he would take another look.

"What an asshole," grumbled Bucky.

"Soon as you see something, report. You're all we got, Beck," said Fury.

Tony groaned in frustration. "How! Even if the Avengers probably aren't a thing right now, there
are still people who can help!"

"Who Fury knows can help," Steve said with narrowed eyes at the screen.

"This is what I fear. May God help us, Fury." Beck was in his motion-capture suit with two
drones hovering at his side. "God help us all."

Clint crossed his arms. "Beck should've become an actor instead."

There was a dramatic pause. "Okay, people, no Avengers coming. We're good to go. William,
launch the drones."

Everyone groaned.

Tony's heart jumped to his throat and looked at Peter fearfully, who was staring at the screen
determinately.

Riva released the drones from a Stark Industries satellite in space.

Tony looked sick at EDITH being used for this.

"Excellent. Janice?" Janice was steaming the cape. "Still working on the cape." "You gotta
get those wrinkles out in a few hours," said Beck. "I could literally be shaking hands with the
Queen."

Bruce threw his hands in the air. "That's what Beck cares about?"

Tony scoffed. "Are you surprised after watching all this?"

Bruce sighed. "Sadly, no."

"Guterman?" Guterman said he was almost in position.

"Feel free not to be," said Clint.

Victoria increased the pulse. Hill was watching the pulse on her computer. "Whatever this
thing is, it's a hundred times bigger than the previous ones."

Everyone couldn't help but snort at Hill believing this.

Beck asked EDITH to show him his loose ends. There were images of Fury, Hill, Ned, MJ,
and Betty.

Everyone growled as Peter clutched the arms of his chair tighter.

"Once the show's going, execute a kill order on my command." Beck told everyone to start
the show.

Everyone sucked in a breath fearfully while Peter turned pale.

Ned and MJ were standing at the top of the bus deck. "I don't like this. Something's
definitely up," MJ said.

"Smart girl," said Natasha, appreciatively.

"You're a FOS now. 'Friend of Spider-Man'. And you have to remember, just stay calm."

Tony raised an eyebrow at the name as Peter blushed a little. "Am I a part of FOS too?"

"All of us are," said Natasha firmly. Everyone nodded.

Peter's face turned red. "Thanks, guys."

Suddenly, there was a crash of thunder as Ned and MJ quickly looked to their left.

Everyone's hearts jumped to their throat.

Storm clouds began to descend from the top of a building. "That doesn't look good," said
MJ. "But it's fake, so there's nothing to worry about."

"No!" cried Wanda. "The drones can hurt you!"

Guterman told Beck the kids were in the kill zone. He got out of the bus.

"Fuck!" yelled Peter. Everyone else was furious.

"How are Beck's team okay with this?" Scott threw his hands in the air. "They're children!"

"They don't care," Natasha said in a flat voice.

Cut to Fury and Hill. Fury's phone buzzed. It was Happy. Fury asked him what he wanted.
Happy told him they were going through Tony's belongings, and there was a surfboard that
Fury left behind, and told him, "Appearances can be deceiving".

Tony's lip twitched at Happy trying to warn Fury. It made him feel better that Happy was looking
out for his kids when he wasn't there.

Clint and Natasha laughed. "If Fury doesn't get that obvious of a clue, then there's something really
wrong with him," said Clint.

Fury said it wasn't his and not to call his number again. He exchanged a worried look with
Hill and looked back out the window.

Everyone sighed in relief.

"At least, Fury finally knows now," said Steve, trying to look on the bright side.

"Fury's slacking," muttered Tony.

Chapter End Notes

The scene with Happy and Peter on the plane is so sweet. I really love it.
Hope you liked it! Tell me what you thought about it :)

Chapter Notes

The jet flew over the Dorset Coast, United Kingdom. Happy said, "Fury's got the coded
message. Your friends are at the Tower Bridge. Your boy called it the London Bridge, but I
figured it out. I'mma go scoop them up, okay?" Peter agreed. Happy said they were closed
and asked how the suit was.

Tony was practically bouncing in his seat, wanting to see Peter's new suit.

"Almost done," said Peter. Peter pulled out the Black Dahlia necklace and asked Happy to
give it to MJ if something happened to him.

Wanda rapidly shook her head. "Nothing is going to happen to you, Peter. You'll give MJ the
necklace yourself."

Tony agreed with her.

"You're gonna make it back. You'll give it to her yourself," said Happy. "Now walk me
through it."

Once again, Tony was grateful Happy was there.

Peter took a deep breath. "I know it's illusion tech, right? All I have to do is get on the inside
of the illusion, then I can take it down, find him, and he's just a guy, so I can take EDITH
right back."

Steve nodded in approval. "Good. Keep it simple."

"Right, but last time, you got hit by a train."

Everyone winced at the reminder.

"True, but this time...how do I explain this? Uh—I have like a sixth sense."

Sam smirked. "The Peter-tingle!"

Everyone else chuckled as Peter groaned.

"The Peter-tingle." Peter is visibly annoyed.

Everyone laughed louder at Peter's face.

"That's what you're talking about, right? It's not working, though. I heard it wasn't working
right now. Is it?"

Rhodey snickered. "I wonder where he heard that from."

Tony let out a guffaw and Peter rolled his eyes.

"It is working. Well, I don't—I don't know if it's working."

"You better make it work," muttered Clint.

"Good, so you got the Peter-tingle. That's the plan. I'm gonna go get your friends. You get
that Peter-tingle back online." Happy ran back to the cockpit.

"Sounds like a plan," said Bruce.

Peter muttered he got this. The Spider-Man suit was still in the process of being made as the
outer layer was created. The eye lenses were constructed rapidly by several mechanical arms.

Bucky stared at the screen with wide eyes. That looked so cool.

Finally, the spider logo was inserted by a mechanical arm.

Tony let out a low whistle. "Suit looks nice!"

Peter smiled. "Thanks, Tony."

In London, Beck told Riva to que the lightning, and Riva did. Back on the bus, Ned and MJ
flinched at the sounds.

Everyone grimaced.

Mr Harrington came back down to the bottom of the bus, asking if it was still safe at the top
of the bus, only to see Guterman was gone.

"Poor Roger," Bruce sighed.

"Mr Harrington just wants to keep the kids safe," said Steve.

At the top of the bus, all the students were panicking. Mr Dell asked Mr Harrington what the
bus driver said. Mr Harrington said the bus driver was gone.

Everyone winced.

Everyone yelled, but Mr Harrington said it was okay, and he and Mr Dell had it under
control. "Don't drag me into this, Roger," said Mr Dell. "I'm doing my best, Julius!" Mr
Harrington retorted.

Peter was shocked. That was the first time he had ever seen Mr Harrington raise his voice.

The water monster came out of the water.

"Shit!" yelled Sam.

"They need to get out of there!" said Tony with alarm.

Mr Dell yelled the witches were back. Mr Harrington yelled for everyone to get off the bus.
All of them ran off before the bus exploded.

Everyone looked at the screen with wide eyes.

"Thank god, they got out of the bus," said Clint.

Everyone nodded in agreement.

Beck looked at the new Elemental with appreciation. "Now, that is an Avengers-level threat."

Everyone glared at Beck.

Under the water, the drones released pulses that destroyed the stone wall on the sidewalk.

"Oh," said Wanda in realization. "That's how the damage was done."

The group ran as Ned said it wasn't real. MJ said it looked pretty real to her.

It looked pretty real to the rest of them too.

This Elemental was much bigger than the others.

Everyone's jaws dropped.

"Holy shit!" yelled Sam, Peter, and Bucky.

"That Elemental is so much bigger," said Scott.

" Earth, wind, fire, water. Oh, no. They joined forces like the Power Rangers," said Mr Dell.

Everyone couldn't help but let out a small laugh.

Mr Harrington said he was thinking of Voltron. Brad saw Mysterio coming and cheered he
was going to save them.

Everyone glowered at the screen.

The rest of Peter's classmates cheered as well.

"Ugh," said Wanda in disgust. "They need to stop cheering."

"They think Beck's a hero," Natasha pointed out.

"If Mysterio knows we know—" said MJ. "Then we're in danger," said Ned. "Yeah, and so
are they. We should go," MJ finished.

Everyone paled.

"This is not a good sign," said Clint.

Ned, Betty, and MJ ran off. Flash noticed they left and ran behind them too.

Peter was shocked at seeing Flash running off with Ned, MJ, and Betty. Why would he do that?
Maybe because they were the only people he knew since he didn't know all of their new
classmates.

Mysterio fought the monster and yelled, "This is for my family!"

"Beck has the cheesiest lines," Bucky complained.

"They're working, though," said Steve with a frown.

Back at the bridge, Beck, in his motion-capture suit, told Fury that he should get somewhere
safe. He doesn't see this ending well. "I appreciate your concern, but I never leave my men
behind," said Fury.

"Well, that's one Fury-like thing he's done," said Clint.

Happy flew the jet over London, while Peter stuck to the outside of the plane in his new suit.

Everyone except Peter and Tony was taken aback at Peter sticking to the outside of the plane.

"You can do that?!" said Steve, incredulously.

Peter nodded. "I told you I'm sticky."

Everyone else looked impressed.

Meanwhile, Tony was too busy looking at the suit. "I love the red and black, kid. It suits you."

Peter grinned. He did look good in the red and black suit.

Happy saw the Elemental and asked if Peter was sure that wasn't real. "Yeah, it's just 100
times bigger than I expected."

"Bigger than any of us expected, too," muttered Rhodey.

Peter said they needed to get higher, so Beck doesn't see him coming. Happy agreed and flew
the plane higher. Peter said they needed to have a serious conversation about his aunt and let
go. Inside the plane, Happy looked sheepish.

Rhodey and Tony roared with laughter as the rest of the Avengers snickered.

Peter rolled his eyes. At least May wasn't dating an asshole.

Peter turned on his Spider-Man logo shaped parachute.

"Nice parachute," said Sam with a grin. "Goes with your gimmick."

Peter sighed.

Fury asked Beck to report. Beck asked Guterman for a response. " It's all the Elementals.
They're merged into something else. Something more powerful. It's drawing energy from the
Earth's core."

Everyone stared at the screen in disbelief.

"How the fuck does Beck even think anyone would believe this bullshit?" asked Sam, completely
baffled.

"People are stupid, Sam," said Natasha.

Fury stared at Beck and turned to Hill. "See, now, that's some bullshit."

"Thank you!' many people exclaimed.

"I was getting worried about Fury," said Clint.

Hill sighed and then looked at the sky. "Is that?"

"Yes, it is!" said Tony with a proud look. He just wished Peter got his vacation, though.

"Hell yeah, it is!" Scott cheered.

Peter sent them a smile.

Peter ejected the parachute and turned on his gliders.

"That is so cool," muttered Scott.

Peter muttered it wasn't real as he dove into the Elemental.

Everyone raised their eyebrows in surprise at seeing what the Elemental looked like from the
inside.

Inside the Elemental, Peter latched onto a drone and noticed the sight. "That's awesome."

"I would've said the same if it was under different circumstances," grumbled Tony.

Hill climbed onto the rooftop of the building she was in with a case. Back inside the
Elemental, Peter webbed the drones together. Beck told Riva he had drones breaking
formation.

Everyone smirked. Peter was going to beat this guy.

Riva said maybe they hit a flock of birds or something.

"No, they hit a spider instead," snickered Sam.

Peter rolled his eyes.

Beck said he wanted to take manual control and see what was happening. One of the drones
inside the illusion twisted to show Peter webbing the drones together.

Everyone groaned.

Beck was furious and said he was going to kill Peter.

Everyone was furious.

"No, he won't!" Tony snarled.

Inside the illusion, Peter sent a taser web at a drone that electrocuted all the other drones
since Peter's webs connected them.

Tony looked proud, while everyone else looked impressed.

The illusion started to fall, revealing the drones.

"It's working!" said Bruce. "Everyone will know the Elementals are fake now."

A drone appeared right in front of Fury.

Everyone sucked in a breath.

"You got me?" asked Fury. Hill sent a missile at the drone from the roof. "I gotcha."

Everyone let out a sigh of relief.

Riva told Beck the illusion was falling apart. Both Beck and Peter noticed each other. "I see
you," said Peter.

"Kick his ass, Queens!" said Steve.

Beck asked EDITH to give him protection. Peter leapt, and a drone smacked into him. He
fell to the bridge.

Everyone winced.

Beck told Riva to kill the illusion.

Everyone raised an eyebrow. What was Beck trying to do?

"I'm not gonna kill it. They'll see," Riva protested. Beck shot back, "They'll see what I want
them to see!"

"This guy is crazy," said Bucky.

Everyone agreed with him.

Riva killed the illusion, revealing dozens of drones. Beck asked him to render his illusion suit.
On the plane, Happy was looking at Flash's Livestream, who was screaming that the monster
was full of drones, and found where he was. He landed the plane.

"Thank god for Flash," muttered Tony.

Beck saw the jet and wondered who it was.

Tony glared at Beck. "It's Happy, you asshole."

Back on the ground, Happy ran towards Ned, MJ, Betty, and Flash. Happy told them to get
on the jet.

"Yes, please get on the jet," Clint pleaded.

MJ asked who he was. Happy said he worked with Spider-Man. "You work for Spider-
Man?" Flash asked in a high-pitched voice.

Rhodey and Tony roared with laughter while everyone else snickered. They knew Happy wouldn't
like it.

Peter couldn't help but grin.

"I work with Spider-Man, not for Spider-Man!"

Rhodey, Tony, and Peter snorted.

A drone destroyed the jet.

"Shit!" many people yelled.

Happy said they had to get into the Tower.

"Just get somewhere safe," Peter begged.

Beck told EDITH to target Spider-Man.

Everyone scowled.

"I'll just kill the kids myself."

Peter turned an unhealthy shade of grey as everyone else was furious.

"No, you won't!" said Steve.

Drones flew behind Peter as he tried to get to Beck.

Everyone was impressed at Peter dodging all the drones.

Through another drone, Beck found Ned, MJ, Happy, Betty, and Flash running into the
Crown Jewels vault.

Everyone grimaced. No one wanted anything bad to happen to any of them.

Happy told the kids to go into the vault as the drones started to fire at them.

Everyone stared at the screen with wide eyes.

Happy yelled to take cover as all of them ran to different corners. Beck was watching the
drone's footage, trying to find Happy and the kids.

"Please don't find them," Peter pleaded.

MJ eyed a Morning Star.

Everyone froze.

"What is she going to do?" Bruce asked warily.

Happy gestured for everyone to be quiet. MJ mouthed she got this as she moved to pick up
the Morning Star. Happy rapidly shook his head.

Everyone shook their heads along with Happy.

MJ picked the Morning Star and almost dropped it as it was heavy.

Everyone nearly stopped breathing.

Beck saw them, though.

"NO!" Tony, Peter, Stephen, and Wanda yelled.

Flash was live-streaming the entire thing as Happy gestured for him to stop.

Tony frowned. "I know I said I was happy that Flash was live streaming the entire thing," he said.
"But not anymore."

Betty tipped a suit of armour down as a distraction. The drone fired at the suit of armour.

"Run!" cried Scott.

MJ brought the Morning Star on the drone, and all of them ran into the vault.

Natasha's lip twitched into a smile. "I guess it was a good thing MJ picked up that weapon."

Happy picked up a shield and didn't throw it very well as he closed the door. "How does Cap
do that?"

Clint smiled at Sam. "Yeah, how does Cap do that?"

Sam didn't meet Clint's eyes and shifted uncomfortably.

Steve sent Sam a worried look.

Beck saw that they were in the vault and made the drone fire a laser to open the vault.

Everyone groaned.

Peter told Happy that he was trying to get to Beck, but he couldn't shake the drones as he
leapt up with a car and then dropped it to destroy the drones.

Natasha raised an eyebrow. "Smart."

Peter slightly blushed at the compliment.

One of the drones sent flames at Peter. Peter jumped away, but he caught on fire.

"Ohmygod!" yelled Wanda.

As Peter swung away from the drones, he swung in the water that doused out the fire.

"That was convenient," said Rhodey.

"Who cares?" said Tony. "The important thing is that the kid's not on fire."

Peter shot a web at the drone that flew up. He sent a web connecting the two bridges and
webbed together as many drones as he could. Peter jumped down to the ground from the
web, which destroyed the drones.

Everyone was impressed.

"That was smart," said Scott.

The drones shot a pulse at a car near Peter that hit him and caused him to fall into the water.

"Shit!" yelled Tony and Stephen.

Riva said the illusion was almost back up, and he didn't know how Beck was going to spin
this one. Beck smiled.
Everyone's hearts dropped at that smile.

"What the fuck is he going to do?" Sam demanded.

Peter climbed out of the water and back onto the bridge. He found out that he didn't have
any more webs left.

Peter paled while everyone else groaned.

Tony, for once, seemed calm. Peter was brilliant; he would do something clever. Tony saw Peter's
pale face and nudged him. "Hey, remember what I said? 'If you're nothing without the suit, then
you shouldn't have it.' You'll be fine."

Peter took a deep breath and nodded. He could do this.

Peter threw a plush toy at one of the drone's pulses, which then leapt up. The drones in the
air quickly destroyed it.

Everyone blinked in surprise at how quickly the toy was destroyed and sent Peter worried looks.

Back at the vault, three more drones joined the one trying to open the vault.

"Are you joking?" said Bruce. "Leave the kids and Happy alone!

Inside it, Happy and the kids panicked.

Everyone in the room panicked as well.

Ned asked if they were going to die. Happy told him no one dies on his watch.

"That's right," Tony said firmly.

The drone shot a pulse at the door, which shook the vault.

Everyone's hearts were beating fast in anticipation.

"I wasted my life playing video games, and we're gonna die," yelled Ned.

Peter's heart dropped to his stomach.

"You're not going to die, kid!" yelled Bucky and Clint.

"I have a fake ID, and I've never even used it," Betty cried. There was another pulse shot.

"You can use it once you get out," said Sam.

Flash yelled he posted stupid videos daily for people to like him.

Peter blinked in surprise.

"Hey, if it wasn't for those stupid videos, Spider-Man would've never found you," Happy
said sternly.

"That is true," said Bruce.

"Spider-Man? Spider-Man follows me? I saved us, guys!" said Flash.

Everyone snorted.

"If you saved us, why are we about to die?" MJ shouted. Everyone told her to stop it.

Everyone flinched.

" I'm sorry, okay? I'm obsessed with telling the truth even if it hurts people's feelings."
There was another pulse shot.

Peter looked at MJ curiously.

Happy said he was in love with Spider-Man's aunt.

Rhodey and Tony burst out laughing so hard; they had to lean on each other for support. Peter
groaned and buried his face in his hands while everyone else was in hysterics.

"There are much worse choices than Happy, kid," said Tony, still laughing.

"I know," said Peter. "Happy's a good guy."

The kids looked at him incredulously. "We're sharing, right?"

This set out another round of laughter.

"It's funnier when you realize that Ned and MJ know who Happy is talking out," said Rhodey, still
snickered.

Everyone laughed harder.

There was another pulse shot.

Everyone suddenly stopped laughing.

"Shit," muttered Bruce.

Back at the bridge, Peter pulled open a destroyed drone and pulled out the pulse. He tore out
the seat belt from a nearby car and the Tower Bridge sign.

Steve raised an eyebrow. "What are you doing?"

Peter let out a small smile. "I think I know."

Peter came out told the seatbelt connected to the pulse in one hand and the Tower Bridge sign
in another.

Everyone stared at Peter, astonished. Tony grinned.

"Peter looks like Steve with Mjolnir and his shield," said Sam.

Steve blinked in surprise and then smiled. "He does, doesn't he?"

A blush spread across Peter's cheeks.

"I'm so proud of you, kid," said Tony.

Peter ran towards the drones and kept the Tower Bridge sign in front of him as a shield.

"It really is like the shield," said Natasha, amused.

Peter threw the pulse up in the air, which destroyed the drones nearby.

Everyone cheered. Peter sighed in relief.

He used the Tower Bridge sign near the pulse to leap up and break the glass on the bridge
Beck was on.

Everyone was amazed at how Peter got to Beck.

"That was clever," said Sam with a smile.

"Thanks."

Peter punched Beck, which broke his fishbowl head. This deactivated the drones that had
gotten through the door of the vault.

Everyone applauded.

"Thank god," said Scott with wide eyes.

Peter was just happy his friends weren't seconds away from dying because he fucked up.

Back at the bridge, Peter was dangling Beck while sticking to the ceiling. "Your lies are over,
Beck."

"Yes, they are," said Steve firmly.

Beck said this wasn't ideal, but he had contingencies.

Everyone shifted uncomfortably. What did Beck have up his sleeve?

EDITH blasted Peter away from Beck.

"Oh shit!" yelled Clint.

Peter coughed as he stood back up. "Just give me the glasses." Beck took the glasses out of his
pocket. "You want these?" Drones surrounded Beck. "Come and get them."

"Fuck," cursed Bucky. "What is this asshole going to do now?"

Beck activated an illusion, leaving Peter in complete darkness except for a green glow under
his feet.

Everyone was uneasy, but Peter finally knew what he had to do to get to Beck.

Peter took a deep breath. "Come on, Peter Tingle." He closed his eyes and jumped into the
air, fighting off the drone attacks. Peter destroyed drone after drone, explosions surrounding
him.

Everyone's jaw dropped, amazed at Peter completely obliterating the drones.

"And you're doing this with your eyes closed?" said Sam, incredulously.

Everyone's eyes widened at that realization.

Peter nodded. "It's my sixth sense."

Tony smirked. "Your Peter-tingle."

Peter rolled his eyes.

"You're sixteen, and you can fight like this?" asked Bruce weakly.

Tony had a massive grin on his face. "I told you. The kid's meant to be the best of us."

"Imagine what Peter can do with proper training," said Natasha.

Peter's face turned red.

Beck panicked and asked EDITH why the drones near him weren't firing. EDITH said Beck
was in the kill zone. "No! Fire all the drones, NOW!"

"He's so unstable," said Scott.

Tony snorted. "You can see why I fired him."

The drones started to fire, and Peter was pushed back. Peter threw his drone shield to the
side and destroyed the other drones. One of the drones flipped and hit Beck.

Peter paled slightly as everyone else sighed in relief.

Peter destroyed the last of the drones, landing on his feet with his head down.

Natasha's lips twitched into a smile. She knew what her sister would say if she were here right
now— such a poser.

"Beck!" Peter yelled, taking off his mask as he limped towards him. "You lied to me. I
trusted you."

Peter winced a little.

"I know, that's the most disappointing part. You're a good person, Peter…such a weakness.
Stark was right," Beck said, holding up the glasses, "You do deserve them…." A shot rang
out, and Peter's hand flew up.

Everyone gasped. Wanda's hands covered her mouth in shock.

"Did Beck just try to shoot you?" Tony asked weakly, his face pale.

The injured Beck faded away, revealed to be an illusion, and the real Beck appeared next to
Peter with a gun.

Scott, Bucky, and Sam's eyes widened. "Holy shit!"

"Ohmygod," Wanda said in horror.

Peter had Beck's arm in his hand as the gun fell. "You can't trick me anymore."

Tony had trouble swallowing as he realized how close Peter was to dying. Again.

Peter took the glasses from Beck's face. Beck groaned and fell back.

"Bastard," Clint spat out.

Peter put on the glasses and told EDITH to turn off the drones.

Everyone sighed a breath of relief.

"Biometric scan complete. Welcome back, Peter. Shall I execute all cancellation protocols?"

"Yes!" yelled Peter.

"Do it! Execute them all!" EDITH confirmed, and all the drones started to fly back to the
satellite. Hill looked to the sky as they flew away.

"Thank God," said Steve.

The drones flew away from Happy and Peter's friends as they looked relieved.

Everyone looked relieved as well.

Happy told Ned to give him the spear. "Actually, it's a halberd," Ned corrected.

Everyone snorted.

Back on the bridge, Peter laughed in relief. "Thank you." He took off the glasses and looked
down at Beck. "How could you do all this?"

Tony flinched.

"You'll see, Peter…people…they need to believe…and nowadays…they'll believe

anything…." Beck trailed off with a blank stare on his face.

"Because half of the world died, asshole," Bucky grumbled.

Peter put the glasses back on and asked if this was real.

Everyone looked at Peter sympathetically since he couldn't trust anything.

EDITH said all illusions were down.

Clint whooped.

Peter took the glasses back off, a broken but relieved look on his face.

Tony's heart broke since it was his fault all of this happened in the first place.

In Riva's van, Riva completed downloading something and removed a USB drive from his
computer.

Everyone stared at the screen in alarm.

"What the fuck did he just do?" cried Rhodey.

Chapter End Notes

I LOVED the London fight. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.

I also really love the Red and Black Spidey suit. It looks so good. I can't wait to see
more of it in NWH!

I have a big soft spot for Flash in FFH. I feel so bad for him :(

The scene where Peter is fighting the drones using his Spidey Sense is amazing it was
one of my favourite parts of the movie! It's been two years since FFH has released and
I'm still not 100% sure that Mysterio is completely dead.

One more chapter left! Hope you liked the chapter and tell me what you thought about

Happy and the kids cautiously exited the vault as Flash whooped in joy. Happy asked MJ
where she was going as she ran off.

Sam smirked. "Running towards a little spider, probably."

Peter blushed.

On the devastated bridge, MJ ran towards Peter as soon as she saw him. Peter limped his
way from the opposite direction. MJ dropped the weapon and threw his arms around Peter
in a hug. "Hey."

"That's adorable!" Wanda squealed.

Tony clapped Peter on the back. "Now's your chance. Tell her you like her."

Peter looked nervous and everyone looked at them, amused.

"Hey," Peter said in slight confusion. MJ asked if Peter was okay. Peter said he was okay and
asked if she was okay. MJ said she and everybody else was.

Everyone smiled at the two.

"What happened?" Peter asked. "There were just these just the drones, and they were
following us, and then they just stopped…was that you?"

"All by himself too," said Stephen, proud.

"Yeah," Peter said softly. The two of them finally let go of each other. "Did you get them?"
MJ asked. Peter nodded, almost in defeat. "Yeah."

Everyone looked at Peter sympathetically. He had just watched Beck die.

"Well, I, um, I brought that," MJ gestured to the weapon. "In case you needed some help."
Peter laughed awkwardly.

"This is so awkward," said Bucky. "Kiss her already!"

Peter groaned.

"Anyway, there was this sweaty guy in the tower with us."

Peter, Tony, and Rhodey snorted.

"I think he, like, works for you or something. He, um, he gave me this." Her hand opened to
reveal a shattered Black Dahlia necklace.

"No!" yelled Peter.

"Oh no!" cried Wanda.

"Shit," said Sam. "That's bad luck."

"Oh, MJ, I'm so sorry. I had this stupid plan. I wrote it down; I was gonna buy you this and
give it to you in Paris at the top—" MJ cut him off, kissing him.

Everyone blinked in surprise and then cheered. Sam and Bucky clapped Peter on the back.

"She kissed you, kid!" Tony whooped.

"Kiss her back!" Wanda yelled.

Peter's face was incredibly red, but he was pleased.

Peter looked at her in shock. "And you kissed me."

"Hell yeah, she did," said Tony.

"I don't really have much luck when it comes to getting close to people, um, so I lied. I wasn't
just watching you because I thought you were Spider-Man."

"I told you," Wanda said smugly.

Peter laughed and smiled. "That's great."

"Now ask her out, you idiot," said Sam.

"I will!"

"Black Dahlia," MJ said. "Like the murder," they said together and laughed.

"Teenagers are fucking weird," said Bucky.

Peter apologized for the necklace being broken. "I actually like it better broken," MJ said,
looking up at him.

"That's so cute," said Wanda with a grin. "Now tell her you like her!"

"I really like you," Peter told her. "I really like you too," MJ replied.

Everyone cheered and patted Peter on the back. Peter's face was glowing red by now but had a
blinding grin on his face.

Both of them laughed awkwardly and kissed again. Peter kissed her once more. Both of them
smiled at each other.

Sam and Bucky waggled their eyebrows at Peter, Wanda had a pleased look on her face, Steve and
Natasha looked at Peter and MJ fondly, while Tony had a satisfied look on his face. For once,
something was going good in Peter's life.

"Looks like we have to have The Talk," said Tony.

Everyone roared with laughter as Peter groaned. "Please no. The first time was bad enough."
MJ said she should get back to the class, smiled at Peter, and left. Peter smiled and skipped
away.

Everyone smiled.

Happy was on the phone with May as he said Peter did great. He saw Hill and Fury walking
towards him and said he had to go and ended the call.

Tony frowned at Hill and Fury.

"I'm glad you're alive. I guess the coded message worked," said Happy.

"It was an obvious message," said Natasha.

"'Appearances can be deceiving,'" Fury quoted. "I'm surprised you didn't just wink in the
camera." "It worked." "Only because I had serious doubts about Beck from the beginning."
Hill said that wasn't true; he had zero doubts.

Everyone snorted.

"Fury's losing his touch," said Steve.

Fury shot Hill a betrayed look and turned back to Happy to ask where Peter was.

"I think Fury has had enough to do with the kid," said Tony in a firm tone.

"He's with a girl."

"Damn right he is," said Tony.

Fury said he needed to speak with him. Happy said Peter would call him.

Everyone snickered.

Fury laughed. "Well, he better. Or it's your ass. And don't even think about ghosting me."

"Please ghost him," said Tony.

In Newark, New Jersey, Peter and MJ held hands as they walked out.

Everyone smiled at the two and Peter couldn't stop smiling.

"Are you sure no one else has figured it out?" Peter asked. "Yeah, it's not like anybody really
pays attention to you," said MJ.

"Ouch," said Bruce.

"Ouch." "Except for me."

"Adorable," said Wanda.

"Aw. Thanks," said Peter. MJ told Peter not to be late and left.

"Late for what?" Sam smirked. Peter rolled his eyes.

Betty told Peter that they were so cute.

"They are."

Peter said they should go on a double date. Betty and Ned looked at each other and said they
broke up.

Everyone blinked in surprise.

"What, why?" asked Wanda. "They were adorable too."

Peter was shocked and asked why. "Men and women grow apart, but the journey they share
together will always be a part of them," said Ned.

Everyone looked at Ned and Betty, amused.

Betty cupped Ned's cheek, and he was so wise.

Everyone snorted.

Flash greeted his driver and asked if his mother couldn't make it. Gerald shook his head.

"Poor kid," muttered Tony.

Peter looked at Flash curiously.

Peter exited the airport and greeted May, who hugged Peter and said she was so glad he was
okay. "No, for real, I'm good. I'm actually really fine," said Peter.

"That's great, kid," said Tony with a smile.

They walked towards the car as May handed Peter a bag of hot buttered bagels.

"Your favourite," said Tony.

"They are," said Peter. "I love them!"

"I kept my identity pretty guarded these past couple of years. I faced a lot of deception. And
I'm tired of the lies. So, it's time for the truth to be out there."

Everyone had a shocked look on his face — Peter most of all.

"Wait, what?" said Tony incredulously.

"Are you dating?" Peter asked Happy and May at their apartment in his Spider-Man suit.

Everyone made sounds of realization.

Tony and Rhodey heard what Peter asked and eagerly waited for the answer.

Happy said, "Yes," and May said, "Not really," at the same time and looked at each other in
surprise.

Everyone burst out laughing.

"Summer fling," said May. "Yes, that evolves and grows like any other," said Happy. May
said she didn't know where it was going to go as Happy said he was open to wherever it
might lead.

Everyone was still laughing.

Peter said he was going to go because he had a date, took his mask, and left.

Tony eyed him. "A date, huh."

Peter blushed.

Peter swung through New York.

Everyone who hadn't seen Peter swing through New York gaped at the screen.

He took a selfie on his phone.

Tony sighed. "I know I told you not to use your phone when you're swinging."

"It's fun!"

"You'll get hurt!"

He had a text from MJ that read, "Don't text and swing!" and kept swinging through New
York.

"See!" cried Tony. "Even MJ told you not to use your phone!"

Peter rolled his eyes.

Peter ran on the top of buildings and glided through an atrium in a building that was
formerly Avengers Tower.

All the Avengers stared at the screen.

"Is there an atrium in Avengers Tower?" asked Steve in a strangled voice.

"It's not Avengers Tower anymore," Tony grimaced. "I sold it two years ago."

"What?!" Steve and Clint exclaimed.

Tony scowled. "It's not like anyone was using it. We moved to the Compound for a reason and that
was empty too at the time. I didn't see any point keeping the Tower."

Everyone shifted uncomfortably at the reminder of the civil war.

He jumped down and met MJ. Peter apologized for being late and said she was going to love
this. Peter and MJ swung through New York, and she yelled that she should stop looking.
Peter let go of her in the air, and MJ screamed.

Everyone chuckled at the two as Peter snickered.

MJ said Peter could put her down now. They landed on a sidewalk surrounded by people.
Peter asked her if she was okay. MJ said she was never doing that again.
"Her boyfriend is Spider-Man," said Rhodey. "I think she'll end up doing that again sometime."

Peter looked pleased with being called MJ's boyfriend.

Peter said he should probably get out of here and said goodbye. He jumped on top of a
lamppost and waved at her. Peter turned around to watch a news broadcast about last week's
attack in London.

The laid-back atmosphere in the room instantly disappeared.

"What happened now?" asked Scott warily.

"An anonymous source provided this video. It shows Quentin Beck, aka Mysterio, moments
before his death. A warning, you may find this video disturbing."

Everyone flinched while Peter paled. He didn't need to see this again.

"I managed to send the Elemental through the rift, but I don't think I'm gonna make it.
Spider-Man attacked me for some reason."

Everyone's jaws dropped and Peter paled even further.

"What the hell?!" said Bruce.

Everyone else was too shocked to say anything.

"He has an army of weaponized drones, Stark technology. He's saying he's the only one who's
gonna be the new Iron Man, no one else," said Beck in the video.

"What the fuck!" said Tony.

"This was Beck's plan," Natasha said in realization. "He's framing the drone attacks on Peter."

Everyone was stunned.

"Are you sure you want to commence the drone attack? There will be significant casualties,"
EDITH said. "Do it. Execute them all," Peter's voice could be heard saying.

"Ohmygod," muttered Sam while looking at the screen in horror.

MJ looked at the screen incredulously. The news reporter came back on the screen. "This
shocking video was released earlier today on the controversial news website
TheDailyBugle.net."

Peter made a sound of realization while Tony turned angry. "That asshole has had it out for Pete
since day one!"

"But everyone knows the Daily Bugle isn't accurate," said Clint.

J Jonah Jameson appeared on the screen. "There you have it, folks, conclusive proof that
Spider-Man was responsible for the murder of Mysterio."

Everyone stared at the screen in disbelief.

"Jameson does know people can edit videos, right?" Tony asked disbelievingly.
Natasha snorted. "People are stupid."

"An interdimensional warrior who gave his life to protect our planet, and who will no doubt
go down in history as the greatest superhero of all time," he said.

Everyone shook their heads, not able to believe what they were hearing.

"Greatest superhero of all time?" Steve exclaimed incredulously. "Nat and Tony exist!"

"But that's not all, folks. Here's the real blockbuster. Brace yourselves; you might want to sit
down."

"Fucking hell," said Rhodey. "How much bullshit does this guy have to say?"

Peter looked sick.

Beck appeared on the screen again. "Spider-Man's real—Spider-Man's real name is—
Spider-Man's name is Peter Parker!" A picture of Peter was shown on the screen. "What the
f—" Peter exclaimed, bringing his hands to his head.

"—uck!" Peter finished.

The room erupted into pandemonium.

"What the hell?!" Steve cried.

"What just happened?" said Bruce in disbelief.

"What the fuck?!" yelled Sam and Bucky.

"Is this guy serious?" said Rhodey. "Beck can't pull shit like this!"

"You're kidding!" said Scott, astonished.

"There's no way anyone will believe this," said Tony in hysterics. "Everyone knows Spider-Man is
a friendly neighbourhood hero."

Peter was completely frozen in shock. What the fuck was happening?

Wanda clenched her jaw. She was pissed.

"What I am supposed to do now?" said Peter in a strangled voice. "How am I supposed to live like
this?"

Everyone looked at him with pity.

"Only if there was some way to erase everyone's memories and make everyone forget," said Scott.
"Problem solved." He froze. Scott, along with everyone else, turned to Stephen, who sighed.

Stephen could erase everyone's memories of Peter being Spider-Man — Peter had saved his life on
the Q-ship, and Tony was his mentor, and it was his fault Tony was dead in the first place.

"Yeah, I can do that."

Everyone let out a breath of relief.

"Great, problem solved," said Tony. "Thanks, doc."

"But I would have to erase everyone's memory of Peter being Spider-Man."

A hush descended the room.

"Everyone?" Peter choked out. "Even MJ, Ned, and my aunt?"

Stephen nodded sadly. Peter clenched his jaw.

Fury and Hill were in a car, driving as both of them turned into Skrulls.

"What the fuck!" Clint screamed. "What the hell is that?"

Everyone gaped at the screen.

"Did Fury and Hill just shapeshift?!" Tony asked hysterically.

"They were imposters!" Natasha said, surprised. "You were right!" she told Clint.

Clint blinked dumbly. "I was joking."

"Explains why Fury and Hill were so incompetent this entire time," said Tony.

Thor blinked in surprise. "Those are Skrulls."

"Wait, as in the same people Danvers fought before she realized the Kree lied to her?" Steve said,
baffled.

"Then where are the actual Fury and Hill?" said Bruce.

There was a pause.

"Shit, you're right," said Clint. "Where are they?"

"You gotta tell him," said Soren. "It was fine. The little boy handled it. We helped." said
Talos.

Peter frowned at being called a little boy.

Soren scoffed. "How was I supposed to know that the whole thing was fake? I mean, that was
all very convincing. The performances, the illusion, that costume, the craftsmanship in that."

"True."

"This is just embarrassing for a shape-shifter. Fine." Talos said. He picked up a phone and
said, "Hey there. I hope your mission is going well. We gave the glasses to Parker about a
week ago, like you said. And it was very touching, you know? Really, really quite touching."

"So, I've never even met Fury?" said Peter, still trying to wrap his head around this.

"And, you know, shortly after that, it really kind of went off the rails, and so we need you to
come back because everyone kept asking where the Avengers are, I don't know what to say to
that, so you're lucky that Spider-Man won—" Fury, who on what appeared to be lounging
on a chair at the beach, relaxing, turned off the video and put the phone away.
Everyone stared at the screen in disbelief.

"Fury was at the beach while this was going on?" Tony roared.

Fury got up and stretched as the image of the beach faded away.

Everyone blinked in surprise.

"What the hell?" said Scott.

He stepped out of the pod and slapped his hands. "Everybody back to work!" It was revealed
Fury was in space with Skrulls. "Who's got my shoes?"

Everyone's jaws dropped.

"Fury's in space?" asked Clint, astonished.

No one could comprehend the shitshow they had just seen.

"Ohmygod, this makes so much sense," said Steve, slapping his forehead. "Everyone's been asking
Skrull Fury about the Avengers, but he doesn't know what to say because Fury only gave him
Peter's number."

"Which is why when Peter asked if anyone else could deal with the Elementals he said everyone
was unavailable," Natasha realized.

"So, none of this would've happened if Fury was actually there," Tony frowned.

"What the hell did I just watch?" Sam said, pinching the bridge of his nose. Peter didn't deserve
this. He was only 16 and had been through so much.

A note appeared that read The next recording is about Wanda.

"Me?" asked Wanda, slightly confused.

Everyone was slightly wary of what they were about to see. None of the recordings they had seen
so far seemed very happy.

Chapter End Notes

FFH was crazy! It's not my favourite Spider-Man movie (Homecoming and Spider-
Man 2 are) but I do like it. I'm so excited to see NWH and see the repercussions
Mysterio had on Peter. It's only two months away and I can't wait!

I've really loved writing everyone teasing Peter about MJ since Peter is the baby of the
group. They all love him, really.

I LOVE MCU Peter and MJ's relationship. It's so cute and so much better than the
Raimi version (as iconic as the upside-down kiss is). I couldn't stand MJ in those
movies. She was a damsel in distress the whole trilogy ugh. She was easily the worst
part of those movies for me.
FFH's end credits were so crazy! It was absolutely wild to me that they decided to
reveal Peter's identity since that's like his thing. I know the MCU isn't really big on
secret identities since they got rid of it for both Iron Man and Captain America, but
SPIDEY? My mind was blown.

The end credits with the Skrulls was so amazing too because the whole plot falls apart
if Talos wasn't impersonating Fury. They're dropping hints for Secret Invasion with
this scene and the WandaVision post-credit scene too. Secret Invasion is also another
show that I'm really looking forward to!

Poor MJ said she never wanted to swing with Peter again but she's going to be
swinging with Peter like five minutes later away from the crowds :(

I'm really nervous about how NWH is going to end, especially with the memory wipe.
If MJ and Peter break up I'm going to be SO mad. Like really mad. With all the
rumours, NWH is either going to be the most amazing movie ever or the worst movie
ever. I hope Tobey and Andrew show up but even if they don't I don't mind since both
Doc Ock and Green Goblin are in the movie, both of whom I liked more than Spidey
lol

I'm also really looking forward to seeing Peter and Stephen team up but I hope they
don't end up on bad terms I love them both so much!

With the end of this fic, I've written 100k which is insane! So, thank you so much for
reading and commenting! All your comments mean so much to me I really appreciate
it.
