limited to approximately one page only. You may use diagrams, flowcharts, bullet points etc. to
help you communicate your answers. Each question is worth five marks.

Describe any three interventions typically practised for various situations in organisation
development (OD) literature.

Given the limitations of Lewin’s change, the action research and contemporary adaptations to the
action research models, OD practitioners strongly believe in the adjustment of the general model
of planned change. This general model identifies the steps that an organisation typically moves
through in the process of planned change.

In light of the above discussion, briefly discuss the four steps involved in the general model of
planned change.

With relevant examples discuss the factors that need consideration in choosing between an
external or an internal change agent.

Describe at least three factors that lead to resistance to change. Explain any two ways in which
managers can positively and actively manage resistance at various workplace situations.
