Problem Overview
Goal/Scope: to design an accessible, user-centered information portal and communication tool for
the post-treatment stoma cancer patients at UNC Hospital from scratch.

Challenges:

1. The need to accommodate the less digitally literate, physically challenged, and elderly
users.

2. To identify the most relevant functions to be included in the system.

3. To organize complex information in a straightforward, effective way.

Solution: a standalone website which support the patients’ self-management, communication,


and knowledge discovery.
