Diego Castro

Diego Castro Giménez (born July 2, 1982 in

Pontevedra, Galicia) is a Spanish footballer who
currently plays for Sporting de Gijón, as a left
midfielder.

He started to play with with Pontevedra CF (third

division), then Castro moved to Málaga CF not
playing many games. Bu is in 2005–06, when Castro
moved to Sporting de Gijón, being an important
first-team element from the start (20 league goals
in his first three years, six of them in 2008–09, with
Sporting in the first Liga. He scored the winning
penalty goal against Osasuna (3-2) the
28/02/2010.

In these year, Castro has been the team's most important player, as he scored 10 goals, four
of those through penalties.
