Burj Khalifa

This hotel is considered the tallest skyscraper in the world

and is one of the most expensive and luxurious hotels on the
planet.

It took more than five years to complete, and for many it was
considered an impossible feat of engineering, with too many
problems and obstacles. However, it was completed with great
success!

This architectural marvel is located in Dubai, a city located

in the United Arab Emirates, one of the richest countries in
the world that is characterized by its great engineering
works and its advances in civil engineering.

In addition to its impressive height of 828 meters above sea

level, this building features a unique hybrid architecture,
with concrete for the main structure and steel for the upper
floors to make it lighter.

The construction was designed by Adrian Smith and cost more

than 20 billion dollars, but it was finished thanks to the
joint work of many brilliant engineers.

The many floors of the building have different uses: some are
hotel rooms and many others are residences.

In addition, the building was built to handle electricity

efficiently, since it has thousands of solar panels to
satisfy its electrical need, which is close to 360 mW per
day. That's what an entire colony needs per month!
My conclusion is that this work is considered one of the most
difficult to build but nevertheless one of the most important
in the field of civil engineering. Some day I would like to
build such an important work.
