Synopsis
A 1989 story in Redwood City, California. It involves a teenage girl who is freshly moved from San
Diego, California, where her grandma lived and had just passed away. While unpacking her suitcase,
she discovers her grandma´s diary which she assumed her mom had packed away for her. It was a day
before she was about to go to eleventh grade, so the next day she decided to bring it with her to
school. While in history class she decides to open the diary up and start jotting down her feelings and
thoughts. She dislikes history class a lot and writes down how she wants the class to be over, then the
bell rings. She then continues to write more during her next class, then it happens. She realizes
everything she writes comes true, it is not just a coincidence.

Characters:
-Main character: “Gabriella”; refers to herself as “Giselle”
-Second Character: Leah (The best friend)
-Love interest: Ryan
-Parents: Maria (mom), Richard (dad): separated parents

-phone ringing-
Operator: 911 what’s your emergency
Gabriella: -sniffling- my mom… she she’s bleeding… she’s not responding to me… i don’t know
what to do.. please help me..
-crying-
Operator: Calm down and breathe.. what's your name and where are you right now?
Gabriella: Gabriella.. 155 Cleveland Street, Redwood City, California 92866
Operator: I will send the police to you as soon as possible.
-phone hangs up-
-sirens getting louder as time passes-
-Police officer knocks on the door and waits for the door to open-
-silence but you can hear the wind-
Police officer: Is anyone in there?
-wind continues-
-Police officer: If you don’t open the door now I will!
-no answer-
-Police officer opens the door
(door squeaking)
-steps-
-Police officer examines Gabriella and her mom’s body-
-breathes in and exhales-
-Police officer radios the station-
Police officer- I'm afraid this is a murder, could you call the coroner so they can pick up the bodies
and we can do the final analysis to figure out the truth.
-radio message sends-

Gabriella: September first, 1989

Dear diary….
-sound effect-
Gabriella: “I just found this diary last night unpacking the things my mom had packed for me when
we moved.” “I figured this was the right time to start journaling, so here I go…” “I'm in history class,
boy do I hate this class, I hope the bell rings now, I'm tired and I want to go home.”
-bell rings-
-students yelling in hallway-
-steps- (to symbolize walking to the school door to be able to leave school.)
-received message sound effect-
Mom: “I'm outside, the fifth car that you see when you walk outside.”
-wind and kids screaming- (symbolize her walking out of school and now outside)
Mom: How was your first day!
Gabriella: It was good except for history class, by that time I just wanted to go home, you know i hate
that class!
Mom: Oh I'm sorry sweetie, did you meet any friends?
Gabriella: I didn’t have time, I was too worried about getting to class on time and during lunch I made
sure to eat.
Mom: Oh, well I’m sure you will meet some great friends soon enough!
Gabriella: Yea, it takes time, I hope so too! Can we listen to music now?
-noise of cars and background music from mom’s car radio-

9:00 p.m, September 1st.

Dear diary….
Gabriella: “I had so much homework tonight, and I still have more.” I wish I could just go to sleep
right now, although that isn’t the responsible thing to do.”
-Gabriella falls asleep- - loud breathing-
-alarm goes off-
Gabriella: Oh My Gosh!! I didn’t finish my homework. I better hurry up. I only have 10 minutes if I
want to shower before school!
Mom: Are you ready, it's time to leave!
Gabriella: I am putting on my shoes, I will be right there!
-runs downstairs-
-garage opening-
Mom: You are going to be late! You need to start getting ready faster!
Gabriella: I’m sorry mom, I didn’t finish my homework last night because I fell asleep.
Mom: No excuses, be more responsible

-School morning bell rings-

-running sound effects-
-bumps into a student-
Leah: Ouch!
Gabriella: I’m so sorry, I am about to be late to class, are you okay?
Leah: Yes, don’t worry I’m fine!
Gabriella: Let me help you
-Gabriella helps her pick up her stuff-
Leah: I really appreciate this, what’s your name?
Gabriella: Giselle, how about you?
Leah: Leah.
Gabriella: What class do you have right now?
Leah: Biology
Gabriella: Oh me too! Want to sit next to me?
Leah: Sure but let’s hurry up because we are running late and the principal is very strict.
-Gabriella checks her phone for the time-
Gabrielle: ¡AY CHIN! It is 8:00!
