This case concerns the challenges facing Indra Nooyi, CEO of PepsiCo, in 2011 as she wrestles with the

proper approach to introducing a new “Good for You” healthier foods product strategy while balancing
her commitments to the various internal and external constituencies to which she is responsible. Please
read the case study and its accompanying exhibits, and come prepared to class to discuss the following
questions:

1. In your opinion, how serious is Nooyi’s situation, on a scale of one to ten, and what is your two-
sentence summary of her problem?
2. Reflect on Nooyi and her personal values. Are her personal values distorting her thinking or
giving her a valuable insight?
3. Would you change the “Good for You” strategy going forward, and if so, how? Stay the course?
