Discernment

- the choice between two goods. (Evil or lesser Evil)

- why two goods? Because evil has no place in the life of a
Christian.
- the choice of the conscience is called ELECTION. (Choice of
Conscience)
- To be mindful the flow or movement of the spirit. (Spirit is the
evil ones and the Spirit is the ones from the Lord)

Desolation and Consolation

Spiritual Consolation
- is an experience of being so on fire with God’s love that we feel
impelled to praise, love, and serve God and help others as best we
can?

- This consolation encourages and facilitates a deep sense of

gratitude for God’s faithfulness, mercy, and companionship in our
lives. (This feeling of satisfaction serenity and happiness that we find
in God and we feel more alive and connected with others to.)

- Consolation – it’s never solitary it has to lead us to be mindful and

to be sensitive to others need also.

Spiritual Desolation
- Is an experience of the soul in heavy darkness or turmoil.
(Caterpillar to Butterfly)
- We are assaulted by all sorts of doubts, bombarded by
temptations, and mired in self-preoccupations.
- We are excessively restless and anxious and feel cut off from
others.

- Desolation – Purification (Purified and form by the dictates of the

Spirit)
