PROGRAM INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES:

A graduate of BS in Hospitality Management should be able to but not limited to:


1. Produce food products and services complying with enterprise standards.
2. Apply management skills in F and B service and operations.
3. Perform and provide full guest cycle services for front office.
4. Perform and maintain various housekeeping services for guest and facility operations.
5. Plan and implement a risk management program to provide a safe and secure workplace.
6. Provide food and beverage service and manage the operation seamlessly based on industry standards.

COURSE DESCRIPTIVE TITLE: Housekeeping Operations
COURSE PRE-REQUISITE: HPC 2

CREDIT UNITS: 3 Units

NO. OF HOURS: 54 hours


COURSE DESCRIPTION :This course presents a systematic approach to managing housekeeping operations and provides a thorough overview, from
the big picture of maintaining a quality staff, planning, and organizing, to the technical details of cleaning each area of a hospitality facility.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES:

Knowledge
1. Explain the difference between institutional housekeeping and domestic housekeeping.
2. Identify and describe the basic functions of each personnel in housekeeping department
3.Identify common problems related to housekeeping services
4.Identify the different types of linens,pillows and bed sheets

5. Identify and explain the different types ans uses of cleaning tools, materials, and equipment for room servicing
6. Explain the wash cycle and its importance
7. Discuss on how to deal with intoxicated customers in line with industry practice.

2. Demonstrate proper handling of guest request in housekeeping and following the hotel safety and security standard
3. Demonstrate the procedures in Turn down service, Making up beds- Traditional & Duvet and procedures in Cleaning the toilet
4. Perform proper handling of trolleys and other equipment
5. Perform packing,unpacking,storing and preparing of guest’s luggage
6. Perform laundry methods accordingly
