Bonnie and Clyde

Temporal background:
• Global economic crisis in 1929 (Great depression)
• People had neither money nor work → many of them turned to criminal

Bonnie Parker:
• Was born in 1910 in Rowena (Texas)
• Her father died early
• They moved to Dallas when she was four years old
• In 1926 she married Roy Thornton but in 1929 their relationship ended
• Bonnie worked as a waitress in a café where she met Clyde Barrow

Clyde Barrow:
• Was born in 1909 in Telico (Texas)
• His family moved to Dallas when he was twelve years old
• He and his older brother Buck became petty criminals here

The history of Bonnie and Clyde:


• In 1930, the two met and fell in love
• From 1930 to 1932, Clyde had to go to jail for stolen cars
• From 1932 to 1934 Bonnie and Clyde made America uncertain: They stole cars and weapons,
raided benches and murdered in cold blood
• Clyde was very smart, so they were always a step ahead of the police and were not caught
for a long time
• On May 25, 1934, Bonnie and Clyde were killed in their stolen car with 167 shots from seven
police officers

• Bonnie is buried in Crown Hill Memorial Park
• Clyde is buried in the Western Height Cemetery
