Most of these safety precautions and warnings apply to the use of
all PipeHunter equipment.

when this occurs.
Prior to operation, inspect the unit according to the pre-operation
checklist.
WARNING!
In order to reduce the risk of serious injury from impact or injec-
tion, never point the high-pressure jet at persons or animals.
Never direct the nozzle or fluid streams at any part of your body.
WARNING!
The machine’s operating pressure is printed on the side of the
control panel of the high pressure cleaner. Only use a high pressure
hose which is designed and approved for the machine’s operating
pressure and temperature.
Working Conditions
WARNING!
Your unit produces poisonous exhaust fumes as soon as the auxil-
iary/chassis engine is running. These gases (e.g. carbon monoxide)
may be colorless and odorless. To reduce the risk of serious or fatal
injury from breathing toxic fumes, never run the high-pressure
cleaner indoors or in poorly ventilated locations. Ensure proper
ventilation when working in confined areas. Do not attempt to
move the machine by pulling the high-pressure hose. Replace
damaged high-pressure hoses immediately.
WARNING!
An underrated, damaged, or improperly used hose can explode
from high pressure and may result in serious injury from exploding
material or loss of control.
Towing Safety
• Breakaway cable should be in use when towing.
• Always perform a walk around check prior to towing your unit.
• Do not tow without proper size ball. (2 5/16” Ball)
• Check the images below for proper towing procedure.
• Do not tow without chains securely fastened to truck chassis.
• Only tow with a properly rated vehicle and hitch.
• Electric brake controller required if trailer is equipped with
electric brakes.
WARNING!
Due to road and traffic conditions, transporting full water tank over
a long distance is not recommended. Unsafe conditions and dam-
age to trailer can occur. Filling at nearest fire hydrant or nearest Side view of breakaway cable
water supply to job location is recommended.
Towing Checklist:

Your tiger tail should be slipped over the hose prior to nozzle skid and
nozzle installation.
400
The proper jetting setup includes the following items: Tiger tail, leader hose (10 300
foot), nozzle skid, and a nozzle. All of the components should be checked to make
sure they are in good working order.

Operator Position
The operator should be positioned at the operator’s station in front
of the control panel. Prior to operation the operator should have the
safety lanyard attached to their beltloop.

1. Close drain valves and make sure strainer is clean and has cap
installed.
2. Before attaching hose to hydrant, flush hydrant then attach to refill
inlet. Open tank lid and fill tank to capacity with clean water to avoid
clogging strainers and nozzles.
. Secure Safety Lanyard to control panel and clip on belt loop of opera-
tor. Note: When water in tank is low and pump loses pressure, refill
tank. It is not recommended that the pump be run dry. If unit is out
of water, the engine should never be run above idle speed.
. Make sure water control valve is in by-pass position.
. Start auxiliary engine
. Position level wind over the center of the manhole.
7. Install tiger tail over hose. Note: Always use hose guides to protect
hose from damage caused by rubbing against sharp edges. Failure
to do so could result in shortening the life of the hose. Use of a skid
assembly and leader hose is recommended. (Refer to Proper nozzle
setup diagram on page 12)
. Install nozzle and skid.
. Position the hose through the hose guides on the reel.
10. If hydraulic, use hydraulic control valve handle to unwind the hose
from the reel. Both the control valve and the needle valve can regu-
late speed of the reel.
11. Lower nozzle to proper position in the opening of the pipe.
12. Put hose into the sewer line jet upstream to the normal flow of water
with adequate slack for nozzle to travel into the line.
1. Engage pressure to allow nozzle to travel at least 5 feet up the line or
the length of the leader hose. (Never do this if nozzle is not in plain
sight, ex: surcharged manhole)
1. Disengage the water pressure so that the tiger tail can be positioned
properly against the lip of the pipe and secured with the rope.
1. With engine at idle, pull water valve handle to pressure position to let
water pressure will begin to rise. Note: Changing water valve position
under high pressure shortens valve life.
1. Check for maximum RPM and pressure. Gradually open throttle until
desired pressure is reached.
Recovering Anti-freeze
1. Close ½” valve going to water tank in rear.
2. Open ½” valve going to anti-freeze tank.
. Close 1” valve at anti-freeze tank.
. Fill water tank and open supply valve.
. Connect sewer hose to quick disconnect in control panel with sup-
plied fitting.
. Move water control lever to by-pass.
7. Start engine.
. Go to anti-freeze tank and open small overflow valve.
. Advance throttle as needed. . Engage vacuum system and increase throttle until vacuum
reaches 15”.
Stopping Vacuum . Release all 4 door locks on the debris body door.
Note: Additional hose can be added as needed to reach the work area.
Performance will drop with each additional length. . Let body wash-out run until body is clear or unit is out of water.
1. Remove vacuum hose from work area and allow between 15 seconds
to 1 minute for vacuum air flow to clear hose of debris.
2. Lower engine RPM to idle
. Select vacuum toggle off (For units with belt drive, disengage clutch
handle).
Note: During final clean up, water can be fed into the end of the hose
while running the vacuum in order to clean the hose of debris.
Body Wash-out
The water pump system must be on and operating in order for the
body wash out system to be operational. A 3-way valve located
curb side at the front of the debris tank must be in the On position.

Maintenance & Storage
WARNING!
• Store the machine in a dry place protected from freezing.
• Freezing temperatures may damage your high-pressure
cleaner, the hose or the lance if not properly stored with an
antifreeze solution.
WARNING!
• Shut off the engine before performing any maintenance.
• Any maintenance or repair work not described in your Owner’s
manual should be performed at either a PipeHunter service
shop or an authorized dealer.
