REFLECTION

In the activity given to us which involves donating some gardening tools, it is timely because it’s
the season of giving and sharing. This Christmas Season we celebrate the coming and birth of Jesus
Christ, our saviour. As we celebrate it, we also want to share and spread the essence of giving during this
season. For me, Christmas Season is my favorite holiday of the year because we get to feel the love and
kindness of everyone. This is the time where everyone feels happy and share what blessings they received
during the year. The lessons we had in Christology introduced not just the history of life of Jesus Christ
but also understanding and applying His teachings in a daily life basis. I’ve realized that the way how we
treat others is also the way how we see and treat Jesus Christ. We must remember to do well and be good
to others. Seeing the presence of Jesus Christ through the faces of other people helps us to apply His
teachings. As the son of God, Jesus Christ wants us to be united and help each other.

Sharing and giving is one of the ways to feel the love and presence of Jesus Christ. The way we
treat others is always the reflection of our faith and love to Jesus Christ. Being able to share what we have
is more than just the fact that we donated something but it is about our belief that we can see and feel
Jesus Christ by others. As the saying “It’s better to give than to receive” goes, it shows that we feel good
whenever we receive something but it is better if we are the one who gives and makes other people feel
that they are love and remembered through giving. We can always share and give in our own simple
ways and efforts to give, just like what we did donating some gardening tools that can be used in UA Eco-
Farm. It is not necessarily to spend a huge amount of money just to share what we have to others. Even
simple efforts are counted and as long as you do not harm other people. Maybe for other people it is just a
simple donation, but for me it is how I apply and feel the presence of Jesus Christ. In the modern society,
always choose to be kind and right.

REFLECTION

Christmas day is fast and closely approaching; giving out gifts for our brothers and sisters who
are in need are a wonderful blessing and gift for them. There is a saying that “It’s better to give than to
receive;” a small gift will make them happy and that reflects that we have a warm heart. For me,
Christmas Season is my favorite time of the year because we feel overflowing of love and kindness of
everyone. This time is where everyone feels happy and share what blessings they received in the entire
year by giving it to other people. As our activity at the same time an outreach for us, it is timely to this
Christmas season because we are task to give out our donations that is coming from us wholeheartedly for
the eco farm that manages the CEO (Community Extension Office) of the university and also for our
brothers, Aetas. We gave out some gardening tools to help increase and use extra tool in gardening and
bought some new uniforms for the Aeta students. Sharing and giving is one way to receive love from
another. It is good that we share our blessings to others it means that we share our blessings because we
have much more blessings that is greater to share compared to others and we must be thankful for that.
I’ve realized that throughout the lessons we have in Christology which talks about a lot about Jesus, how I
treat others is my reflection of my actions, faith and love of Jesus. I learned many things through the
discussion every meetings of my professor, I honestly liked theology class more because I know more of
the story of our Savior and some are must be applied in our lives. The teachings of Jesus Christ must be
live with it to be a good person not just for myself but also to others. We can always share and give in our
own simple ways and efforts to give love and happiness to others. Giving gifts means receiving nothing
in return, there’s more joy not to expect something in return, we are the most blessed by love of God and
family so we must also share and fulfill someone else happiness to have a Merriest Christmas for me and
to each in everyone.

We use to have an outreach but because of lack of time we just have it by giving donation and our
chosen beneficiary is the people in eco farm, it is by giving a gardening tools that they can always use
especially when they are gardening it is for them to make the task more easier and have an extra tool to
use in the future. I know that by this simple action we did is we made them feel appreciated. Christmas is
really fast approaching and it is a call for us to give and share love and blessings that we have because as
we all know that Christmas is all about giving and there is nothing more joyous than to be a blessing to
someone else at Christmas. It provides a special opportunity to be a blessing through giving and by
sharing to others (our loved ones and even the people we don’t even know ), we are showing what God
did for all of us. There is always something about giving and sharing, no matter what month or time of the
year, it always brings inner joy but I believe it brings more joy to the people we’ve shared or give a gift.
Gift giving is always an expression of love and appreciation. When we give it also shows a love and
appreciation because we are sharing the things we have to others. By doing this activity, I realize that
giving is also receiving but not literally receiving the same thing we’ve share but giving, and sharing
service to others, can increase wellbeing and it brings meaningful happiness.

We forget sometimes that generosity can take more forms than simply giving money or gifts. But
for me it is better to give a gift than money because on my part I appreciate gifts than money since money
can easily disappear but the gift can last. Giving gifts means receiving nothing in return, there’s more joy
when we give from the heart and not to expect something in return. While I often give to those in need, I
thoroughly enjoy and find happiness in giving especially to those who are in need whether I know them
or not; Their joy, brings me joys. It shows that volunteering, spending or making time to our loved ones
and to the community, and valuing generosity as a part of our personality, are all ways of giving which
can make us and the people around us happier too which truly is the greatest gift by being touched with
simple smiles and that is the purpose of all giving.
