Reflection Paper

Heartwarming, Ecstatic, Auspicious

Christmas is fast approaching and this season is the season for sharing
or giving blessings to other people who are less fortunate with what they
have. These three adjectives described my experience on our gift giving. We
gave hygiene kits for our athletes which they can use every day. It was
ecstatic, an auspicious one and a very heartwarming event since we don’t
know the real situation of our athletes, when we gave our gift to LCDC, I
know to myself that they will be happy. I was in a state of ecstasy since this
is my second time giving gifts to other people. Sharing to others what they’re
lack of is fulfilling me with so much happiness because I know that they will
use it and will be thankful for the little gift that we have given to them.
Hoping that one day, they will return or do the same for the next generation
of their team.

‘It’s the thought that counts’. It is where the kindness behind an act
matters, no matter how insignificant it may be or how imperfect it was. As a
Christian person, I think it’s natural for us to give gifts to other people
whether there is an occasion or it is an ordinary day. It’ll benefit us for it will
satisfy our mood like it will make us feel happy even though we did it in a
very simple and small way. As a Lasallian, I think it’s already in the blood of
every student in Lasalle or even the staffs to give those people a blessing.
It’s not only the people whom we gave gifts will benefit but also us.

I will continue giving blessings to other people even if it is not a

requirement. Remember that it is better to give than to receive because I
know that those people who share or give blessings without expecting
anything in return will be receiving a good share of blessings from our Lord. I
will help as long as I can because in the end we’re the only ones who will
help each other in times of need. Also, if we start today by giving gifts, who
knows, maybe in the future everyone will do the same without expecting
anything in return because that’s what the spirit of sharing is.
