Dear Parents & Friends,
Our virtue for this month is
gratitude. It seems fitting, since
Thanksgiving falls in November,
to dedicate the month to being
thankful. Sadly, it does seem
much more common to take
things for granted instead.
The staff at OLU are working
with your children on a daily
basis to help instill this virtue
through regular practice and
acknowledgment of daily usage.
Over the last couple of weeks
we have seen improvement in
the building wide behavioral
challenges and I believe that is
due in large part to our recent
communications with parents
and your support in that area.
With that in mind, I want to ask
that you help us also as we work
to develop gratitude in our
students. Simple things like
ensuring that they say thank
you, recognize the sacrifices of
others, and appreciate what
they have vs. asking for more,
will go a long way toward
growing in this virtue.
